Not so long ago, this idyll was just a hillside and Dionysia’s ‘mind’s eye dream’.
As owner and designer, and with the help of like-minded people, what she has created here is a tranquil environment, surrounded by natural things and a liking for soft tones, subdued shades and natural materials. There is an understanding that everything should look as it had always been there, that nothing should appear contrived.

There is a sense of natural comfort and elegance, style that is founded on a love and respect for traditions. At its heart it’s not so much a set of rules or statements but rather an all encompassing feeling.

Characterised by local craftsmanship, lime wash is used on all the internal and external walls, the kitchen is bespoke and so is the bed; the shower room is unique, the lounge perfect relaxation.

Constructed in rather the same way as a perfect meal. Each ingredient has been chosen with care, valued for its own sake and then cooked with thought to become a dish that pleases all the senses.

Provided here is a place of peace and tranquillity, a resting place, a refuge for the discerning traveller who, at first sight, experiences that huge sigh of joy and satisfaction.

Double wooden entrance doors access the open plan kitchen/dining area. The kitchen has bespoke wooden worktops and the units are complimented with the Farrow & Ball paint finish. There is a ‘Belfast’ style sink, full sized cooker with feature extractor hood, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and there is ample draw and cupboard space. The hand finished dining table and chairs together with the aspect lighting complete the look.

The open plan comfortable lounge with feature lighting has two sets of double doors giving access to the bedroom patio on the left and the lounge patio to the front, both patios are marble tiled. The lounge patio is fully furnished and the large table is quite unique.

The double bedroom has a distinctive handmade bed and feature wardrobe, there are double doors giving access to the patio which has seating and an attractive, simple, iron pergola.

The shower room with pastel shades and hand finished walls encompasses a large shower area.

From the patios sweeping steps lead down to the pool area.

The pool is superb, Rosa Gres tiled in distinctive greys. It is 8m x 5m with a maximum depth of 1.5m; quite spectacular with its underwater lighting during the evening. As with the upper patios, non slip marble tiling surrounds the pool. There are comfortable cushioned wooden loungers a large parasol and there is an outdoor shower.

The house is set in approximately 3000 sq. m. of private grounds with gated access.

The area immediately to the front of Kalliroi is paved for easy access and the garden at the front of the property features a Mediterranean themed garden and is primarily planted with roses and other complimentary plants.

The extensive grounds below the pool patio area has been terraced and there are many old olive trees that have been supplemented with additional olive trees already planted. The development of this area will feature complimentary plants interspersed with gravel pathways and hidden areas for relaxation.
