About this property
Luxury Palazzo* in Hvar Town Center
Stunning XVIIth century palace in the center of Hvar town with 5 spacious bedrooms and 5 ensuite bathrooms overlooking the old town of Hvar. Two minutes walking distance to the main square and yet in a quiet part of the old town.
Palazzo v. Pelsocz is an historical Palazzo of the XVIIth century in the heart of Hvar town.
The Palazzo has been newly renovated in 2017 to offer a modern touch and amenities for today’s distinguished traveller.
Being our guest means living in Hvar at it highest level, having luxury accommodation and the opportunity of a special unforgettable stay, and having the experience of an ancient Hvar Palazzo.
The villa can accommodate up to 12 people.
The space:
After the entrance door one approaches the living room, with a large fireplace that has been warming families for centuries during cool bora wind Hvar winters. The ceiling has the original centuries old Slavonian oak beams. Ancient stone polished from walking is present on the floor. Tall glass balcony doors lead to the courtyard with an outdoor dinning table and hot tub for your relaxation after a day in the sun or perhaps a night out and need to sooth your body after dancing. Out of the hot tub you will have a direct view over Hvar town rooftops. The walls are a light color.
The kitchen and small bar are in an open space connected with the living room. Original Venetian Murano glass chandeliers are on the ceiling, and all cabinetry is custom made.
To the left of the fireplace is the first bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bathroom offering direct access to the courtyard through large balcony glass doors.
Going back to the living room there is a stair case leading to the upper floor. You will pass around the part of the Palazzo that was dug in rock on the back side with parts of the rock still present to the eye. The first room is the master bedroom with large glass balcony doors and a huge terrace overlooking the main square of Hvar and the fortress above Hvar town. There is an ancient fireplace in this bedroom and a king bed. The bathroom is ensuite. Draperies and cushions are in precious hand-painted fabrics, while accessories include Murano glass designer vases.
The walls are painted in dove and ceilings are supported with oak beams.
The third bedroom is located to the right after the staircase. It is also with a king bed with an ensuite bathroom. It’s large windows are overlooking the town. Walls are a light color while the oak beamed ceilings have a honey color.
Some gothic windows have been left deliberately even though they have been closed in a wall for a while. The bathroom is fitted with high-end accessories, and walk-in shower, antiqued mirrors.
An independent hallway leads to another staircase leading to the second floor which is under the roof. To your left is a smaller bedroom with two twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. The window also faces Hvar town center.
To your right is a larger bedroom with four twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. A harmonious palette of different colors is used for the bedrooms accessories to offset the neutral colors of the rooms surfaces. The walls are treated with a dove-grey finish.
For lighting in the Palazzo, a mix of floor lamps, lamp sets, and indirect LED illumination is used to create different degrees and effects of lighting. The vibe is contemporary with the use of geometrical and clear lines softened by local accents in the use of glass and traditional materials.
The area is one of the most quiet parts of Hvar town center at night.
This noble family house is elegant and luminous. There is wonderful antique furniture throughout, significant artwork, and family heirlooms. Important furniture and artwork have been recently restored. The family regularly uses this Palazzo, so guests will enjoy the feeling of an exclusive and magnificent Hvar home.
