Now with WiFi! Located 2 miles east of Webster, the land is along the Yellow River, in the heart of Burnett County. It is pine barren country. The secluded and fenced in private property provides tranquility for a peaceful retreat. The one bedroom cottage includes a fireplace, sunroom, full kitchen, one shower/bathroom, and laundry. Relax inside watching the wandering wildlife or get out and explore the land and water. There are trails, benches, boardwalks that lead to the boat house and two docks, camping site, and fire pits.
I can welcome hypoallergenic dogs. Please contact me to chat about breed, size and fee.
Fall is absolutely gorgeous here! During the winter you can enjoy sledding, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing on the property, or jump on one of the many neighboring snowmobile trails. In the summer you can enjoy fishing, swimming, canoeing, and hiking the trails. The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway for couples, friends' weekends, and young families. Peaceful Cabin in the Pines

We stayed 2 nights at this comfortable and well maintained cabin. Quiet place in pine forest covered in snow. Short walk to river.We cooked and ate in, read in sunroom, watched a DVD at night.We were able to drive both days to Hayward's Korte and Birkie ski races to cheer on family and friends, our very first. Had a wonderful time, highly recommend this cabin, and will return.Thank you to our host Cheryl who was kind and welcoming.

Clean, Cozy, and Comfortable!

My partner and I stayed in Cheryl's cottage for a three-day weekend, and we had a lovely stay! The property is tucked away among many trees but still accessible from the main road, which felt private but not entirely isolated. We initially missed the sign pointing toward the cottage itself and ended up going past it, so be sure to check for the cottage to the left of the driveway. The cottage has a perfect Northwoods vibe, with wood everywhere and a familiar, functional kitchen that we put to good use. Charming details and comfy seating helped us feel at home. Everything is well-labeled throughout each room, so we had no trouble finding basic needs. Make use of the helpful binder on the kitchen counter and the compost bin by the sink! A few minor deltas for the more sensitive: there is a strong odor from the iron-heavy water, but it's softened and clean, just pungent if you're not used to it; the carpeting has a mildew smell, but that is to be expected in any remote cabin; the bed sags a bit in the center but is still overall comfortable; the shower door is difficult to close all the way, so follow the signage and wipe the outer corner when you're done. None of these things detracted from our stay, and we would absolutely book again if we ended up back in the area to explore more hiking opportunities. There are many trails and parks within a half hour or less in every direction, so if you're into that, this cottage is in a great centralized location!

Nice Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a nice getaway for our 10 year anniversary. The property was beautiful and peaceful. With flowers, trees, birds, water and deer! The house was a great size, very clean and had everything we needed. The surrounding area was super cute! We went thrifting, antiquing, shopping at local stores and had some great meals.

Well kept quiet place to visit

After reading and viewing the photos, I had the impression that the cabin was directly on the Yellow River as that’s the main reason I rented it. Perhaps I didn’t understand the description and my bad for not emailing the owner and finding out beforehand. The owner was very accommodating and the cabin was well supplied and decorated tastefully. In addition to the cabin being super clean, the kitchen had everything you need to cook if you so choose to. She even supplied eggs from the well kept Chickens next door! Thanks! Unfortunately, we had to depart a day early for a family emergency so I didn’t get to visit the nearby Yellow River. Lastly, perhaps this will not bother some people but we found that the well water had a strong (Iron?) odor. So much in fact that showering was unpleasant for us. The water is crystal clear, safe to drink according to the owner and I’m sure she keeps up on that aspect.

Great Place

Better than we even expected for a small winter getaway! We loved the coffee nook in the morning and spent most the time by the gas fireplace. It's a very cozy, clean, and simple cabin.

Cozy Lit’l Cottage lives up to its name

This cottage is cozy, likes its name. It’s clean, comfortable, well maintained, nicely decorated and very quiet. We enjoyed our time here and would like to come back in the summer to see the property in all its glory!

Perfect for a Respite

My stay was short, but much needed. The cottage was clean and cozy and I felt very much at home. Cheryl's notes in the cottage along with our communication via the app were excellent and appreciated. Webster is a cute small town with a trendy cafe, a cozy used bookstore and an adorable antique shop among other establishments. There are numerous parks and trails that I wasn't able to explore due to rain, but drove around curvy backroads taking in the views of autumn foliage and lake scenes. I could see this becoming an annual trip to retreat from the demands of everyday life or possibly bringing a friend to enjoy coffee and birds on the patio. Thank you Cheryl for sharing your cozy lil cottage with the rest of us.

Wonderful, Quiet, Getaway

Was looking for a place to stay a couple more days in the area after going on the Great Northern Railway. I would have to say this property rates best over any other previously. Nicely located cottage with great space and in a nice quiet area. Well appointed, extremely clean,clear instructions on items in building. Couldn't take advantage of checking out other aspects of the property due to wet weather but excited about coming here again! Enjoyed a brief conversation with the owner as well. A comfortable couple of relaxing days in a pretty setting.

Peaceful Getaway

I cannot say enough good things about this property. The cottage sits on the owner's property, but you would never know as it is completely private. The grounds are beautiful and located just a short walk to the flowing Yellow River. We felt relaxed the minute we pulled up!! We purposely choose remote places, but this cottage is SO convenient to all neighboring towns while having the remote atmosphere. It is apparent that Cheryl is very conscious to honor our planet. She is very purposeful when it comes to keeping the grounds natural yet beautiful, and her thoughtfulness overflows into the cabin as well. Anything and everything you would ever need is available in the cottage. Communication with Cheryl was fantastic. We didn't want to leave. We hope to come back again and stay LONGER!!!

I enjoy quiet activities like canoeing, bicycling, sewing, painting, gardening, and preserving habitat for the creatures I share the land and water with.

Why they chose this property

In 2015 I stayed in the cozy cottage as a guest and loved it. When I learned that the owners had to sell, I jumped at the chance to be steward to this lovely place. It has a restorative vibe to it that is gentle and supportive. The air is clean and the solitude is sublime. Currently, I live offsite but plan to move to the main house when I retire.

What makes this property unique

The property lies along the Yellow River. It is a good place to catch small mouthed bass, walleye, and northern. The water is clear and has a good stream flow. The secluded private property is a retreat complete with benches, bird houses, trails, boardwalks, two docks, a boathouse, campsite, and fire-pits. Wildlife are a daily sight!
