Gorgeous New 2BR Family Beach Retreat with Paddle Boat

Beautiful 2BR, 1BA Cabin with huge beach on beautiful, clear Big Ripley Lake in Vacationland!(Northwestern Wisconsin) Big Ripley lake is a spring-fed lake with lots of sand and clear water. Our beachfront location makes it perfect for families with kids of all ages. A paddle boat is provided for you to explore the lake! If interested, a pontoon is also available for rent at an additional cost. If interested, please let us know and we will provide boat rental information.

Enjoy your day relaxing on the beach, boating, and fishing - or take advantage of the extensive trail system nearby - perfect for snowmobiling, biking, or 4 wheeling. End your day with perfect views of the sunset and a campfire on the beach.

Cabin Features:
• Master Bedroom has queen bed, overlooks beach/lake
• Second bedroom has a bunk bed with a trundle bed - 2 twins, 1 full bed.
• Living room has queen sofa sleeper.
• Pack and play available.
• Bring your own sleeping bags. Bring extra pillows if you have more than 8 guests staying
• Bedding and bath towels provided.
• Gourmet kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, and lots of counter space! Kitchen dishes, flatware, utensils, and linens provided. 4-cup coffee maker/filters and Keurig provided - bring your own ground coffee or K-Cups.
• Dining Room table can seat up to 8.
• Screened in sunroom table can seat up to 8.

Best place to stay for Birkie!!

Perfect size, beautiful picturesque spot on icy lake . Wonderfully equipped kitchen, immaculately clean. Loved our time there and can’t think of a better place to prepare for the race or enjoy after!

Great litte getaway

We had another great stay. Love coming here for a little ice fishing with the kids and to just getaway. The house is always clean and the owners are so nice and quick to respond. Thank you again for a great weekend!

Annual Cabin Trip

We enjoyed our stay at Ripley retreat. My boys (7 and 4) were in the sand from sun up to sun down. The additional pontoon rental was great.

Relaxing at Ripley Beach

The cabin and property was wonderful. Our weather did not cooperate as much as we would of liked but even in the rain we enjoyed the cabin stay and had a couple of days of beach time swimming and playing in the lake and lounging on the beach. We were able to do a lot of fishing and had a great time on the lake fishing, watching eagles in their nesting area and also a family of loons. Beautiful lake and area. Enjoyed every moment.

Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful time at Ripley Retreat. The house was very clean upon arrival and checking in was easy. The place was the perfect size for our family of 5 with enough room to sleep as well as spread out when needed. We enjoyed ice fishing with tipups and were able to catch a few Northerns and Bass not too far from shore. We would love to stay here again! Thanks!

Great getaway!

Owners were responsive and very accommodating. The lake is clear, sandy bottom, and the beach was fun to play games on. Cabin is beautiful. Will definitely come back!

Great Getaway!

Really enjoyed my stay. Perfect location for lots of hiking opportunities. The lake was beautiful! My dog loved swimming! Very easy access with the beach and clear water. Cabin was clean and had everything you would need. Two thumbs up for sure!

Nice fishing for young teenagers

Took grandson’s fishing for a week. Great small lake to catch bass and pike. Cabin was a nice size for the 4 of us. Paul was great to work with. Loved the bakery, coffee shop, and bait shops in Spooner. Spooner has a nice grocery store. Practiced baseball in Shell Lake. Watched movies at night on Netflix.

Relaxing and fun

Quiet small lake. Cabin had a nice lay out. Daughter an 2 grandkids came for a day and love fishing and swimming in the lake. Spooner is about 20 miles with a nice Econo Foods, brewery, and shops. Great hosts!!

Jake at the Lake

We and our Labrador Retriever Jake stayed 9 evenings and throughly enjoyed this home. Every window at the back of the cabin showcases a view of the serene lake, from the dining room to the living room to the primary bedroom. We relaxed and even worked a few days given the fiber-optic internet. The sandy beach is perfect for lounging and mere steps from the beautifully clear lake where you can see the bottom. The kitchen is terrifically outfitted for cooking. Within 15 minutes, the location has access to incredible day-hiking trails and a distillery we visited more than once. Our trip pooped out our puppy and filled our souls! Thank you Lehman Family for sharing Ripley Retreat with us!

All the basics for a great getaway!

Last minute fall weekend getaway. Serene Lake in just the right location. Had everything we needed for planned meals at home with quick excursions to Hunt Hill, Hayward, and the Namekagon. The dock was still in - chased around some grebes, otters, and watches the bald eagles build a nest. Nothing else I could want for. Thanks.

The Perfect Getaway

We absolutely adore this cabin and all that it has to offer. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the level beachfront (perfect for little kids) and fishing off the dock. The inside of the cabin is fully stocked with anything you would need. The mattresses are a bit tired but, everything else A+. The owners are fantastic and prompt to respond. This was our 4th time here and we look forward to many more. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed Our Stay, But Have Some Suggestions

We generally enjoyed our stay. the location is beautiful and we enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the lake and the surrounding area. We do have some suggestions. First, we believe there should be blinds or curtains on the front door and the side patio doors as someone could see in the cabin from the outside. We did not feel totally comfortable because of this. Second, we noted there to be cleaning supplies under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. This could be potentially dangerous to small children as well as having access to kitchen drawers that contain sharp or dangerous items. I was a child protection investigator for 25 years and part of my job was pointing out potential child safety hazards to parents. Yes, the parents are responsible for their children's well being, but the owners do have a responsibility in providing a safe environment. Third, we were put off by the owner's statement that guests could be charged an extra $100 if they checked out after 11:00 AM without previous notice or if they did not adequately clean the residence. This seemed rather threatening in nature and somewhat insulting. In all likelihood, we will not stay at this cabin again.

Why they chose this property

We loved that this property was on a large beach in the middle of "Vacationland" (Washburn County). We have 2 young sons, and the combination of the beach, shallow/gradual slope into the water, and super clear water made it appealing for us with small children. As adults, we also love sitting out in our lounge chairs under beach umbrellas soaking in the lake view as our kids play around us.

What makes this property unique

-The best beach we've seen in a lakefront property
-Very clear lake water
-Gradual slope to the water and into the water - kids can touch for a long way.
-Small recreational lake (Quiet, but still recreational. Water gets pretty warm)
