Ideal location for Canterbury area.
We had a great stay, everything we needed plus clean and tidy. Walking into Canterbury was easy with shops and pubs nearby. Would highly recommend this property to a family or small group of friends. Photographs made it look recently renovated however lack of regular routine maintenance made it a little jaded. Thank you for everything.

Location, location!
This was a real peculiarity, a well-equipped conversion of a fire station. Kitchen excellently equipped, lounge had some cupboards needing some TLC, but TV was fine, sofas comfy etc. Garden bedroom was fine, the upstairs one needs some steps added; the bath you need an inside leg measurement of 30” to get in or out and the beautiful glass sink takes a long time to empty, very stylish, not quite so practical. The wardrobe provides room and lots of hanging space but over 2m high (hence the stool comment). It is a short stroll to town, and we hardly used the car - easy parking for one, but tight for two cars - but we did it! The owner was a most pleasant gentleman, around but not at all intrusive.

Loved Cedar House
We decided to holiday locally after Covid-19 delayed our holiday by a year. Having not stayed in Kent before we picked Cedar House in Canterbury and I am so glad we did. Lovely modern home with enough space for 6 of us. Our girls were happy to share the upstairs room and loved the balcony and their own bathroom. We opted for the ground floor garden room which was lovely too. Well kitted our house with all we needed for our week. The house felt totally secluded and the little courtyard seemed completely private too. Would def recommend this property. The owners were helpful and piped over one evening to make sure all was ok.

Unique and Centrally Located
We very much enjoyed our stay in the Cedar House. It offers a unique floor plan, comfortable beds and rooms, and close proximity to the center of town. Although located on a busy street, it is somewhat sheltered from the noise. The shower is small but functional.

Perfect
It was a perfect holiday visit. The property is only a few minutes away from the city of canterbury. You can use the main road with some traffic or the side road and then you can use a little bridge over the trainway to get into the canterbury park. The house was fine, we will book it again if we make another trip to canterbury.

Beautiful property in ideal location
Cedar House is an absolute gem. Beautifully furnished and with everything you need. 5 minutes walk into Canterbury so no need to take the car when going out to eat or indulge in a little retail therapy. As soon as you close the gates to the property it’s like you are in your own little calm haven. A couple of things to be aware of (don’t let this put you off). If you are driving, you’ll need to reverse out of the gates onto London Rd. which is quite busy. We found this to be a 2 person job, one driving and the other stopping the traffic. I got quite adept at this by the end of the week. The 2nd thing is that the water is beautifully soft. If you want to avoid looking like Worzel Gummidge (as I did) take plenty of hair products and straighteners! Would definitely stay again if we were visiting the area in the future. Thanks.

Very enjoyable stay.
We were staying here to be near family for a celebration. The property is very well located within easy walking distance of central Canterbury. We were met by Adelle who was extremely welcoming and told us all we needed to know about the house. There were three of us staying and the accommodation was more than roomy for our needs - there being two good double bedrooms. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped though there are restaurants and pubs nearby. The lounge is comfortable and large and the bedrooms roomy and also comfy. The wifi works well and is a real bonus. The property was extremely clean and warm. We were staying in late Autumn so did not use the outside space but the outdoor table and chairs would be great in the summer. I would certainly recommend this property.

Cozy and Modern Home in the Heart of Canterbury
Our daughter is spending this Fall semester abroad in Canterbury, England at Christ's Church University. During October, my wife and I visited her to spend a week with her getting to know this lovely inspirational village. We needed a "home" for the week and we decided to rent the Cedar House at the Old Fire Station based on past commentaries. The house was all that the website advertised. It is a cozy, modern two bedroom home large enough for my wife, our daughter, and me to stay. The home was gorgeous with plenty of glass for sunlight. The rooms were all much larger than we had expected for an English (in town) home as well. The home itself is within a 10 minute walk of the center of Canterbury, which allowed us to visit my daughter's campus, do some sight seeing, and enjoy the fine cuisine of the area. It was also very easy to find with our rental car right off of the A2. The home itself boasts a very modern kitchen (hot chocolate every night!), roomy dining/family area, comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms. The upstairs master suite was ideal. With a private courtyard setting, this was the perfect home away from home for us.

Truely very special place to stay...
Our stay at Cedar House, London Rd, Canterbury, was one of the best and most special vacation experiences we've ever had. The property's description, amenities and central location are all understated. It is well worth the value and we can't wait to return.

Excellent Property in a great location with Helpful Owners
Great Location, less than 10 minute walk to center of Canterbury and 5 minutes from the station. The property was clean and furnished to high spec. Comfortably fits 7 people, the owners put up a single bed for us in case our 7th guest stayed. There is a Londis and Sainsbury local les than 5 minutes walk to. The property was easy to access, we arranged to meet the cleaner on arrival. The kitchen is large and modern, the living space is open plan and both bedrooms were clean with en suite. Towels provided. Nice an quiet at night so we all slept very well, the bed were very comfortable. Free parking on site, fit two small cars. Safe and private driveway. Great price and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to staying in the area. We booked to stay in Canterbury as part of our visit to Port Lympne Reserve in Hythe, which was less than 30 minutes drive. If visiting Canterbury again we would all book this property again and recommend it to family/friends. Thank for having us

Canterbury, fire station
We visit Canterbury often as our son lives there, we've stayed in many different places and this is one of our favourites. Great location and very spacious house, warm and comfortable. Sometimes there's more of us so in that circumstance we would not be able to stay as the sofa bed is in the bedroom and would not be convenient for couples. Very friendly owner, very helpful. Would definitely recommend the property to others.

Great place to stay.
Great location and set back from the road so quiet and secluded. Sebastian was very helpful. The property was ideal for the four of us and the kitchen was well equipped. Perhaps put a mirror in the downstairs bedroom? Comfortable beds. We had a lovely short break and highly recommend The Cedars.

Great Location, Very Comfortable and Unique Home
We highly recommend this property for your stay in Canterbury. Everything we could possibly need was included, very clean and cozy property. The Old Fire Station is a short 5 minute walk to the heart of downtown. There is a local grocery store just around the corner and wonderful restaurants nearby as well. My daughter is attending the University of Kent and this was also a perfect location to stay while she was moving into her flat on campus. The owners are very nice and came over the first day to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The communication before we arrived was excellent too. Sebastian and Adelle were so helpful with travel tips to and from the airport, local places to visit and my emails were always answered promptly. Thanks again for a wonderful visit and we will definitely visit again on our next trip to Canterbury.

Very comfortable house in Canterbury
The comfort of the very pleasant Art house made us have a very nice week to visit the aera, including amazing leeds Castle and great beaches of Whistable and Camber sands. 5 min walk from Canterbury city center, close enough from London for a one day trip to London, that was the perfect place where to be for our family autumn break. gem of a property
We stayed at this amazing property in conjunction with the arthouse, a property also within the same grounds. We were a big party of twelve people and this property crossed all the boxes. We were conveniently located close to the city centre, shops and restaurants. There are a couple of small supermarkets only a stones throw away as well as a couple of pubs. Check in and communication with the owners were seamless and both the properties were fabulous, extremely well laid out with super comfy beds. There was an added bonus of free secure parking, so close to the city centre. There was no need to use the cars for the entirety of our stay

amazing stay
Had an amazing weeks stay at this property with my extended family. We rented both the houses within this complex, cedar house and the arthouse. Both properties are unique in their own way, one super modern and the other an old victorian fire station. Both houses were spacious, well maintained and comfortable. All canterbury had to offer were close at hand and i couldnt recommend a better place to stay

We are a family run business who have been renting out holiday homes for the past 8 years in Canterbury, where we live. My wife and I have travelled all over the world and have stated in many holiday rentals, giving us a great insight into the needs of any holiday makers. We take great pride in our properties and hope that you will enjoy staying with us.

Why they chose this property

This is a truly unique property as there is no other like it in Canterbury.
I caught glimpses of Cedar House through the opened gates of the old fire station which we also bought at the same time. It was always a wish of mine to own an unusual property should ever the opportunity arose, which happened when the property came onto the market for sale. I came just to look but ended up buying it as it was such an amazing unique chance to own such an individual property.

What makes this property unique

Well Located for the city centre, tucked away in a peaceful and quiet location.
Free secure parking and part of an old Victorian Fire Station.
