Family Reunion

Alex, the property owner was amazing to deal with. I was born and raised in New Baltimore and this house was the perfect location to get to all the family functions. The views are incredible of Lake St. Clair and the house is a typical, charming lake property. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Only a few suggestions for the owner, it would be helpful to have a king or a queen bed downstairs, especially for couples who are used to that sleeping arrangement. The house was not the cleanest, but I assume it had not been rented in a while? It also would be a nice touch for some coffee pods to be available for your first morning...but other than that it was fantastic. We are looking at coming back in the summer for several weeks!

5 Days of fishing

Booked this house for a week of bass fishing with family and friends. Worked great. Easy access to everything needed. Convenient parking using the neighbors drive turnaround to park 3 trucks and trailers.

Great place to stay!! Plenty of room for a group of guys with boats. Speak with the neighbor and ask to use his driveway to do a U turn.

Perfect for a (long) Weekend Fishing Trip

My son and I stayed at the property for a fishing tournament on L St Clair, and it was absolutely perfect. The very first impression was immediately upon arrival... Alex knew we were bringing a fishing boat, and whether it is there all the time or was put out in anticipation of our arrival, I was very pleased to see an extension cord waiting next to the parking area (to plug in our boat), especially given the fact that we did not arrive until after dark (due to an unexpected delay driving in from Chicago). Inside, the house was clean, and the kitchen was well-appointed (with a Keurig, no less... another nice touch). The bedrooms were initially a bit warm, but once the upstairs A/C unit quickly cooled it to a comfortable temp, we shut it off for the night and it was perfectly fine. The TV (Roku) took a bit of getting used to, but after a very small learning curve, my son had his favorite shows on. Unfortunately, because we did not have any down time during our entire stay, we did not make use of any of the backyard/lakefront portions of the property, but had my wife and two daughters joined us, they would have had a blast while my son and I were on the water. All of this said, I don't have any complaints whatsoever, but other, more discerning travelers should keep in mind that this is not a modern lakefront vacation home with all of the amenities... this is a vintage colonial lakefront home that - while updated and remodeled - retains certain characteristics that have long since been obsolete, the most obvious being staircases, i.e. narrow steps, tight hallways, low ceiling (into the basement), etc. In other words, don't walk in expecting the best of modern architecture and ADA standards... this is a vacation home specifically - and efficiently - built for rest and relaxation, one family at a time. Further, if you are bringing a boat along, it's no secrMy son and I stayed at the property for a fishing tournament on Lake St Clair, and it was absolutely perfect. The very first impression was immediately upon arrival... Alex knew we were bringing a fishing boat, and whether it is there all the time or was put out in anticipation of our arrival, I was very pleased to see an extet that the driveway is very long and it's one-way meaning that you're either backing out or backing in (I suggest the latter); however, aside from a slight curve at the entrance, it is a straight shot in.... as I said, we arrived after dark and managed backing in

Charming Cottage on the Lake

My husband and I were anxiously awaiting this 2 week get away and we were not disappointed! It is a charming, peaceful spot on Lake St Clair. The cottage is light, airy and quite comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. We enjoyed bike rides and lazy afternoons reading on the deck. We enjoyed the local community as well, the Sunday farmers market, The Wooden Valve and Fins are a must!! Very friendly folks. And a scenic drive to Port Huron took us to the Culinary Institute of Michigan for an amazing lunch! Our host was engaging and quick to respond to our inquiries. We had a most delightful time and plan to return again next summer! Cheers to you Alex, Thank you for sharing your charming cottage!!

Fun Vacation on the Lake

Lake St. Claire is a beautiful place to spend a week's vacation. This home has a great location on the water with amazing views. The newly renovated kitchen and bath is very nice. Kitchen has all that you'd need to cook and even a Keurig which was a pleasant surprise. New Baltimore is a great little town with restaurants in walking distance, also a great little ice cream shop in town. Both neighbors are extremely nice. Unfortunately, the driveway is incredibly long which makes it difficult to park or maneuver a 19' boat and it is full of potholes that get your car incredibly dirty if it rains. The dock is not the kind that you can tie a boat to for any length of time. We ended up docking at Angler's Point Marina who has a great owner named Jackie. We felt safe leaving our boat there but nothing compares to having it at your house. No spontaneous fishing or water sports outings could be had since you had to drive 10 minutes down to the marina. As far as the home goes, all the other areas need to be renovated, and perhaps the owners have that in mind for the future. The carpeting going up the steps was not appealing at all and needs to be replaced. I wasn't even comfortable walking up and down in my bare feet. The wallpaper is peeling off and there are holes in the wall in the hallway. Some suggestions would be more flat surfaces in bedrooms for personal items and more hooks throughout the house for the many items that need to be hung.

Just what I was looking for!

Me and 3 friends were looking for a good fishing spot on lake St Clair, just what we needed. We had a great time fishing on a very nice dock. The neighbors are great. The only problem we had was the grass was super long and we couldn't play cornhole or yard games, but other than that just what we wanted.

Lovely Lakehouse

Very nice location on Lake St. Claire. The neighbors are very friendly. The house is comfortable and you get a great leg workout since you have to either go up or down stairs to access bathroom. The Airwick plug ins everywhere are a bit overwhelming and the bedrooms get very warm. All in all, the house is nice if you're looking for something on the lake

Beautiful property and location.

The owner does a great job of keeping the property nice. The home offered everything we were looking for. We were spending the week fishing. The location is perfect for accessing the various boat ramps on the Western shore of Lake St. Clair.

Just what we wanted!

A 4 day retreat for our annual “Sisters Week” a mile from my house....just to be on the water and once there we could have been in Harbor Springs as far as we were concerned. So beautiful a settling. And an adorable house. A downstairs bathroom would have been ideal for an elderly sister but we knew that going in so can’t complain. All in all no complaints. And Alex was great!

Amazing !

Alex was an amazing host, he answered all my questions right away (and I had a lot) the cottage was in a prime location, everything was walking distance! Really good bbq restaurant supper close, and grocery stores were close too, so we mainly just barbecued! The fire pit was close to the water which made late night fires really nice. The neighbors were extremely friendly. The water right off the dock was really nice to swim in, and also fish ! If you’re looking for a beach there’s one close by, the downtown beach (it’s more for kids and it’s a smaller beach) but there’s a bigger one called metropark, about 20min drive ! But honestly if you are okay with deep water, the water off the dock was beautiful. Although there’s a huge piece of wood right off the edge of the dock, so I wouldn’t recommend jumping right off, use the latter on the side! The pictures of the cottage don’t do it justice! It’s a lot bigger and more beautiful in person! Lots of towels and extra sheets and blankets 10/10 rate!
