My husband and I loved our last minute 3 night vacation in Fremont. We have family in the area and they were able to visit and enjoy the great fishing on Ryerson Lake. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to relax on the water. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!
The cottage is updated and well taken care of and has all the amentities that you need plus water toys as well. We had a wonderful time spending the week with our family. Nice location on the water. Wes was excellent at communicating from start to finish.
The property was just right for our long distance family get together. The screened porch was perfect for morning coffee. Good communication with the host. Just an FYI, there is no cable, just streaming and long list of check-out requirements
Everything was fine except for using the kayaks and paddle boat. Because of the sea wall and having no way to just walk out into the water it would be difficult getting into kayak without tipping, plus they are not in water ready to use. Paddle boat is upside down up next to cottage and kayaks are in garage. And you are supposed to put them back there before leaving. We are both in our 60’s and it would have been just too much for us to haul those, plus not to mention getting the paddle boat up and over that sea wall to put it back up by the cottage when leaving. And there is no shade outside with no patio umbrella table if you like to sit outside like I do. Lake is weedy. Not that great for swimming. Cottage was comfy and spacious and clean. Nice quiet lake. Bed was really comfy, slept good. No good place to have a campfire, without ruining the nice grass they have.
I would highly recommend this property for rental… There were several kayaks and a paddleboard for use, the house was fully stocked including everything that you would want in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable! The lake that this cottage is on is perfect for families… Very quiet and very clean.
Any communication with the owner was promptly replied to…
Everything about Our week at this cottage was excellent!
I cannot say enough positive things about this property. Right on the lake, the owner let us use the kayaks and paddle board. There were fishing poles and other outdoor equipment for use. The fully equipped kitchen came in handy. Everything you need to make meals is here. The washer and dryer was extremely helpful. The owner was extremely quick to reply to questions. We will definitely be back.
This cottage was the perfect ON THE WATER PROPERTY!!! We spent everyday except one on the water. We highly recommend this stay... Thank you Wes for all of your insight. Would like to come back next year...
We absolutely were wowed by this property. The cottage is clean, spacious and user friendly. The VRBO pictures and description do not do this gem justice. The water amenities were perfect for everyone in our family. The fishing on the dock or out on the lake was entertaining. Thank you, Wes!
The property was wonderful and Wes was a great host! Wes went above and beyond to make sure our visit was perfect. The cottage was well stocked and so clean! Can’t wait to visit again.
This is really a review of 4 different categories. First the owner; easily accessible and not bothersome at all. 5 stars. The Lake; beautiful, quiet for so many houses, good boating and fishing. We were surprised at how often we had the lake to ourselves. 5 stars. The house; clean and roomy, nice TV and kitchen. 5 stars. The yard; pretty small. We could play ladders and cornhole, but not much more room. Still well kept and good soft grass. 4 stars. Overall we are very happy with out stay there. Wish we could stay longer, and hope to stay again.
Everything about the house and lake was perfect! The kids really enjoyed the swimming in the lake and the kayaks. The fishing was great as well, some really big bass.
What a wonderful lake home.! Everything you need. We also had perfect weather. Camp Echo fireworks were amazing. Town is not far. But really didn’t need to go except for what we forgot. Highly recommend for fun at the lake or just relax.

This property was great
This property was great. Quiet area of the lake and our own area for swimming. The house it self was amazing. Nice open floor plan with 2 bedrooms washer dryer and 2 bathrooms ( which come in handy when you have 6 people) Wes was amazing and gave us 2 shirts and left us a note. The only down fall was there was not a whole lot to do unless you were willing to drive an hour. But we still had an amazing time thanks again!

Great place to relax, comfortable and stressfree
Very nice cottage in appearance, inside and out. Newer appliances, granite looking counters, updated bathrooms, comfortable furniture. Screened in porch a definite plus. New aluminum dock, lake was quiet, not full of speedboats, very laid back. Good fishing lake. There are cottages nearby, but very quiet neighbors, rarely seen or heard. On a dead end street, very little traffic, really quiet. Would highly recommend this as a place to go to for a nice, relaxing vacation.

Great Place
What a lovely cabin and lake!
Quite open and welcoming. The kitchen is updated and nicely stocked ( glad I brought my cork screw though!). The delicious honey crisp apples AND ice cream were a welcomed surprise- thank you Wes! Very gracious owner and easy to work with.
It's definitely a modern take on a traditional lake house. Simple, yet had all the amenities of home. I opened up the sunroom and left it open the whole time I was there, great to sit out with coffee and listen to the lake wake up each morning - birds and fish splashing. The weather wasn't ideal, drizzled much of the time - but no fear, the sunroom was a lovely and relaxing haven. The smart TV was a super surprise as well! Just logged into my Netflix and Amazon accounts - good to go! The living area was cozy in the evenings as I caught up on some favorite series and movies. The spectacular Myer Mays house (Frank Lloyd Wright) is a quick hour away in Grand Rapids - worth the trip! Lots of outdoor toys and games, perfect for kids, I didn't partake.
If you want to sit outside, bring lawn chairs. I'm glad I did, got to sit outside in a little niche, out of the chilly wind. The ONLY downside - polyester sheets on the bed. I know not everyone cares.
All in all. Great place!

Quiet lake stay for four, but room for more!
Our family of 4 stayed at the property during the week of July 4th. The owner was great to work with, and was very timely in responding to us and our questions. The cabin is updated and it was a nice surprise that it had a dishwasher. The kids loved having their own top bunks. The kids (9 & 12), also enjoyed being able to paddle out on their inflatable rafts without much worry of a lot of boat traffic, as it seems like a pretty quiet lake. The owner had horseshoes and a corn hole game, which we didn't take advantage of. We loved the open space of the kitchen/living room area, as we had plenty of room to invite the parents and my elderly grandmother out for a couple of cookouts. We enjoyed the use of the infrared grill for these cookouts. Our most favorite part was being able to sit out in the screened in porch area facing the lake and being able to feel the breeze and watch the kids in their paddle boats. We personally did not fish, but watched some people trolling by catch some. We liked watching a couple very busy muskrats run about gathering up grass and swim back and forth. We didn't go into town, only once, to get Spankys pizza and breadsticks, which are the best ever! We spent all our time at the lake enjoying the peace and quiet. Even though there are neighbors, we didn't once see them or hear them! If you want a quiet low key relaxing place on the lake, this is it. The only reason I give it a 4, is that 1) There aren't a lot of TV channel selections, which didn't bother us, but may be a problem for a big TV buff, and 2) the beach area wasn't as sandy as we'd like, but the owner is definitely open to suggestions and is/has been working on it. There is Wifi. I give the owner a 5, because of his responsiveness, openness to feedback, and he even emailed us once during our stay to see if we needed anything. He was even kind enough to leave us some milk and cookies for our stay! He also refunded our deposit right away--(I left the place clean). Thanks, Wes, for a great stay that we all enjoyed!

Nice property and nicely maintained!
A colleague and myself were here on business but we were able to partake on the fishing in the lake and the many fun "toys" the property owner had on site. Nice property and plenty of places to have dinner and drinks in Fremont and in Newaygo. Will definitely stay again if it's available.
