It was a perfect long weekend with the family. The house was perfect- great location, super comfy and just lovely! Cant wait to see everything in a different season :)
The hosts are amazing. We had a family emergency happen just prior to the original date we had booked. They were so accommodating with us and allowed us to reschedule. The weather was cold and a little rainy but the house was great and the views were breathtaking. We will definitely visit again when it is warmer to see the apple orchards and enjoy the views again.
We were visiting our daughter at Liberty and needed a place we could bring our 2 pups. This was the ideal setup! The farmhouse was charming with everything you’d need. Our dogs loved the walk down to see the animals and we all enjoyed the market where we bought pumpkins, delicious apple cider and apples for applesauce. The 360 degree views were beautiful!
Had an absolute wonderful stay here. House was very clean and stocked. Lots of beds. Beautiful property and the awesome fire pit was great. We ended up holding my daughters gender reveal here and everyone loved the place.
It was just like staying with a family member. There was plenty of room to spread out and the firepit was amazing. We loved seeing so many deer, bords, and fireflies!
This wonderful restored farm house helps you feel like you have gone back in time. Fun for our kids and adults alike. Wonderful home away from home. We will definitely return
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The location is absolutely beautiful! The hosts responded immediately to questions, and were very accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Country setting was perfect; virtually no noise; the dogs had plenty of space to stretch their legs; we watched the golf tournament via satellite, made use of the well stocked kitchen, played games on the dining room table which easily accommodated the six of us. Plus, the grandkids were thrilled to have "their own floor." All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
The Morris Orchard property was perfect for a weekend getaway with dear friends. The house was cozy and thoughtfully stocked with kitchen items, linens, extra books and toys for kids, and wood for the outdoor fire pit. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch with our morning coffee and hearing cattle moo nearby.
Perfect time capsule with all the modern conveniences.
Rustic and charming. Out of the way yet close to everything. Well equipped kitchen which we used frequently. I took teenagers who baked me a cake for my birthday. Loved the fresh peaches and blackberries. We spent a few evenings at the fire pit making s'mores. The master bedroom was luxurious, my teen granddaughters loved the loft. We are planning a return visit next year. 5 stars +
This farmhouse at Morris Orchard has all the modern conveniences for comfort in a well-maintained country setting near the foothills of the Blue Ridge. It was a quick trip to major freeways for celebrating my Master's degree graduation from Liberty University with extended family. Beautiful spot, well cared for - highly recommend!
Plenty of space and fresh air. Nice waking up to cows mooing in the morning. Lots of wildlife in the early morning and late evening to see. Very laid back. Only a short distance to any thing u need. Would stay again if I’m there
We are very thankful for the cattle lowing at Christmas time, the cozy fireplace where our family could gather for Bible time and sing songs, for the spacious yard to enjoy, for the convenient location, for the care and safety we felt, for the history of the property, and the opportunity to learn about the precious people of the community. Thank you and God bless you!
Trip to Lynchburg to watch our college athletes Play lacrosse and Mom's birthday.
Property is close to Lynchburg bit lets you enjoy the country setting. It is a great place to unwind and hang by the firepit. Everything you need is there and the host was available when needed. We had no reason to contact the host as the property was exactly as described. We will rent again!
We were looking for a quiet place in the country and this was exactly it. The house is very clean has a cozy feel to it and is well equipped. We stayed with our kids (6, 3 and 1 year) and it was a joy to see them run around between the apple trees and ride their bikes to feed the goats. The house is located in the middle of an apple orchard, there are cows and a lake close by, cats and rabbits. It's an idyllic place to escape the city for a few days. The hosts are very nice and checked on us, they even provided a few additional toys for our kids. We felt well taken care of. The kitchen is very well equipped, muffin pans, baking sheets, a kitchen aid, blender, waffle maker, panini maker it's all there. We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely quick stay here. This lovely older farmhouse is such a lovely little escape. We loved seeing the orchard and surrounding hills/mountains from the porch. We enjoyed walking to see the goats and donkeys and evening walks to look at the stars and look down from the ridge to see the pond and hear the frogs and geese.
The house was very well prepared for this cooking focused crew - we made everything from eggs for breakfast & baking cookies to chopping a lovely asparagus salad and pasta. It was great to be able to do all of this with the tools in the kitchen! We enjoyed eating our meals at the table on the porch and the dining room.
We also had a lovely fire in the amazing fire pit! The owner was kind enough to bring us by some wood to use and it was a magical to sit on the rocks watching the fire and roasting marshmallows.
The only minor downside was that there aren’t a lot of grounded outlets available, which made using some of the electronics a little trickier.
Thanks for a great stay!
I can't say enough about this property. It was very clean, and the most beautiful location. I travel to Amherst County once every year for hunting season, but can only imagine what a great getaway this would be in summer or fall. Especially during the apple-picking season.
The hosts, the location and the house were all just perfect, and as described. Owners were very kind and responsive. The house had a lot of neat historical details and was stocked with everything we needed. Walking up the driveway to their store to buy some orchard fresh apples and feed the donkeys and goats was a blast, as well as using the fire pit at night. Thanks for a great stay!
I loved this house, very home-y and welcoming. The setting is spectacular. Enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the hay bales, cows and mountains. Hosts were quick to respond to our questions. Would love to stay here again (hopefully not when a hurricane is on the way!)
