A Wonderful Stay
My brother, husband, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the medieval tower in Oto. The tower was lovely, so clean, and the countryside was beautiful with its fall colors. We enjoyed walking around the village and to nearby Broto. There were plenty of hiking trails. We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic retreat after a month of traveling throughout Spain. Jose and Elena were delightful hosts. I highly recommend this getaway!

Charming and unique
OK, its a little hard to find the first time, and the parking is a bit funky, but its a remodeled 500 year-old defensive tower! What else would you expect?! The tower itself is 4-stories, with kitchen level, living room, master bedroom and secondary bedroom. Owner Elena and her husband impeccably remodeled the structure in 2008, with careful attention to using antique materials, windows, doors, hardware, etc. Very impressive. Each floor is small, maybe 20 feet by 20 feet, because ... hey, its a tower! Kitchen has everything you need if you decide to cook in. We did breakfast every morning for 4 days, and 2 dinners. Owner Elena was super helpful and responsive on VRBO website. She provided great info on finding the tiny village of Oto (just outside the sister city of Broto). finding the tower, where to park, and many, many things to do in the area. It's a fantastic location, with access to mountains, rivers, hikes, and nearby towns. Wow! We recommend a 4-day stay or more. One of the most memorable, unique vacation accommodations we're ever enjoyed. Thank you, Elena!

Breathtaking Stay In the Spanish Pyrenees
We have been lucky enough to travel the world and stay in amazing places. But the Tower in Oto tops them all. We were a family of me and my husband, my son & his wife and our 9 month old granddaughter. It could not have been more perfect. The Tower is simply stunning in every way. You feel as if you have entered a different world and time—- and it is all glorious. There are stunning views of the Pyrenees from every midieval-looking window. The stone rooms, from the cozy equipped kitchen to the living area and bedrooms are impeccably restored with modern convenience yet look as if you are in the 15th century. The pictures can’t even begin to do it justice although accurate in the details like wood beamed ceilings and stone walls. You are surrounded by picturesque little villages connected by hiking paths (which we took advantage of with wonderful walks) and minutes away from the Ordessa National Park in the glory of the Pyrenees. And always lulling you into another time and place are the sweet, gentle sounds of the cowbells in the fields. We encountered many cows being herded on the roads we traveled, to our delight. Again, too much to say to truly capture it all. Our hostess provided for all of our needs, including bringing a high chair for our little granddaughter, who crawled on the verdant lawn in front of the Tower with absolute joy (hers and ours),. We will treasure our time there for the rest of our lives.

Esperamos poder volver pronto!

Wonderful stay in the heart of the Pyrenees
We spent a lovely week at the Torre in Oto. It was a really unique and historical experience, and on top of that the tower was nicely equipped. We also enjoyed the local adresses and tips given by Elena. Its location in Oto, close to many interesting sights by car, was also one of the highlights of our stay. We highly recommend la torre de Oto !

Perfection
We absolutely loved this property! It was decorated beautifully....charming, comfortable; old world yet all modern amenities. Elena greeted my family upon arrival and was very kind and hospitable, giving us tons of recommendations for activities and places to eat. She even left us muffins, Juice and milk for breakfast for the next day, knowing the stores were closed in town when we arrived! So sweet! The towns of Oto and Broto were charming and easy to walk to from the property. Pizza restaurant in Broto was awesome! The waterfall in Broto was amazing, and the short drive to the national parks was well worth it; absolutely stunning views. I highly recommend this little castle stay!

Amazing and exceptional property
My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying in this incredible tower in May, 2019. It is a truly beautiful building, full of history and character. All lovingly restored by the owners, Elena & Jose. From the moment we arrived in Oto, Elena & Jose made us feel incredibly welcome. The tower itself is a joy to experience and the location is perfect for exploring the nearby Ordesa valley and the wider region of Aragon. We live in Canada now, so it is a very long journey to get to Oto ! but we will definitely return one day. I cannot recommend this holiday destination more highly.

The Very Best
We had a wonderful stay at La Torre de Oto. The tower itself is incredible and the attention to detail in the renovation is amazing. Elena was a wonderful host. She helped us book a tour, made lunch reservations for us and brought us fresh flowers. I also want to add that the area itself is beautiful with lots to do. I highly recommend.

Wonderful visit to the 15th Century
Living history — with modern amenities — is what we did when we stayed in the renovated 15th century tower overlooking the ancient hilltop town of Oto in the Pyrenees. Magnificently restored by its owners to meet the needs of today’s travelers, the Tower provides guests with a sense of what it must have been like to be the nobles overseeing a gorgeous kingdom including the small mountain village, hectares of lush pasture lands, and the awe-inspiring Pyrenees. Living within the Tower’s deep stone walls — complete with slits to accommodate early archers as well as windows offering views in every direction —while enjoying modern amenities (living room, full kitchen, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms ) was a wonderful way to experience this enchanting area of the world and to travel back through time. A look through the Tower’s guest book showed that youngsters who’ve stayed in the tower have especially enjoyed experiencing history here. Hospitable owners Elena and Jose’ Mari have succeeded in reconstructing the Tower’s exterior to reflect its original form while ensuring that modern travelers can live comfortably here as they experience a sense of historic noble life in a hill town in the middle ages. We were drawn to Oto and its Tower through reading “The Girl From Oto,” an historical novel by Amy Maroney set in this part of the world. Our brief stay in the tower made it easy to see how the author was inspired to visit the history of this beautiful area.

A refaire! Emmanuel and Co

Perfect base for Ordesa
Our 4 night stay in this magnificently restored medieval tower was a wonderful end to our two week holiday in Spain. The tower is very comfortable and is well equipped. The living room on the first floor has beautiful views overlooking the lush valley and its numerous windows and squints make the room surprisingly light. The location of the tower is perfect for exploring the spectacular Ordesa national park. The picturesque hamlet of Oto is only 10 minutes walk from Broto which has supermarkets and several restaurants. Elena and her family were charming and very hospitable. We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend the accommodation to anyone wishing to spend time in this part of Spain.

Outstanding time for our family!
Our family of four from the US stayed for a couple nights at the Tower. To put things in perspective, I am a university professor. We were on a tight budget, and we were in Europe for four months. Staying here was a stretch financially, but it was a FANTASTIC decision! It was the single best place we stayed on our trip. Elena was lovely. The area is stunning, and the village quaint. The tower itself is clean as can be, and so relaxing. We wish we could've stayed a month. We loved the picture book that showed the extensive rehab work that went into the tower to make the finished product such a fantastic experience. We'd gladly stay again here on a return visit. Just for the record, Ordesa is one of the best parks I've been to in my life, and I've travelled all over the world. Elena will answer any and all questions, and make you feel at home.

Oto
It is rare for me to say that a property exceeded my expectations and I had high expectations for this property. This is a perfectly designed and executed high class remodeling and adaptive re-use of a medieval structure. The architect should be very proud. I recommend it without reservation or qualification. The views of the countryside from within the tower are breathtaking. In addition, we lucked out and Elena, her husband and other family members were also in residence and getting to know them was an added pleasure.

Exceptional design and the best hosts
We stayed four days at the LaTorre Oto . The place has an exceptional design. The hosts are the charming couple of Helena and Jose. Helena is a Oto native, her family lived there, the castle was renovated by the couple. There is a thinking to small details. Although the apartment is divided into several floors, it feels very intimate and cozy. The host arrived at the weekend and they suggested us to follow Jose to a challenging adventurous climbing to Cascade de Sarrosal. Jose was our guide and he even handled hiring the necessary safety gear for us. In conclusion, we strongly recommend the place and the host couple.

One of the Best Places We Have Ever Stayed - Never Wanted to Leave
My husband, young son, and I stayed here for two nights. It was incredible! We were so enamored with the Tower and wished we had a much longer stay. The setting is spectacular and the Tower has been impeccably restored. The decorating is comfortable and lovely, and the whole property is immaculate. Even the laundry room was spotless! It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. My son loved our time there. He enjoyed playing with the toys out on the patio and in the yard. It inspired us to find a property somewhere in the world to restore at some point in the future. Then again, maybe we'll just keep coming here! Also, the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Deserves all the rave reviews!
There were 4 older adults in our group and we all completely enjoyed our stay at the tower. As others said, it was the highlight of our trip to Spain. We fell asleep every night listening to the cow bells from nearby pastures. The Tower is very comfortable and easy walk to Broto for dinner. There are a lot of stairs, so be prepared for that. Treat yourself to a wonderful meal a Casa Frauca down the road in Sarvise. Easy walks along the river and beautiful places to visit. You will hate leaving this magical place as we did.

A very special place
We stayed five nights earlier this summer at Torre de Oto - a unique and beautifully restored building that is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the effort to get to. First thing, it is not for anyone with mobility problems because the four flights of stairs are part of the experience. (We jokingly called the living room "base camp".) None of that really matters if you are healthy, though, and I doubt anyone would trek to this part of the Pyrennees if they weren't. (Besides, you'll likely be hiking during the day in Ordesa National Park nearby, the best mountain walking anywhere this side of the Alps.) The Torre is a little dark inside - as you would expect with small windows and three-foot wide stone walls, which of course limits the wi-fi inside - so you end up sitting outside in the yard a good bit. It's a little impractical as a guest house, but the fact is you will never stay in a more interesting and thoughtfully restored place. The Torre de Oto is a great accomplishment of amazing work - Jose Maria and Elena and their team spent two years (06-08) restoring the torre (see the book with many before-during-and-after photos on the coffee table), and it really is a monument to individual effort and hard work. What's more, they care for and keep up the Torre now with no less energy than the initial restoration; everything was clean as a whistle, and well maintained. I was a paying guest, and I felt honored to stay there. It is a grand achievement, a unique and worthwhile destination for even the mildly adventurous. You will love it and the surrounding area as well.
