We stayed here for 2 weeks in June as a family with teenagers and it exceeded all our expectations!
It’s a large, grand, old house which has been very well kept. You reach it through automatic gates and up a sweeping, olive tree lined drive. What a first impression!
HUGE, huge garden and an equally huge (11 metres) swimming pool. Apparently it’s a saltwater pool rather than chlorine, but don’t be put off (as we nearly were). I would never have guessed!
My favourite moment, every morning, was opening the bedroom shutters and gazing out over the garden, pool and endless blue sky - bliss!
All of the 4 double bedrooms were huge with en-suite bathrooms, All had fantastic air con units with more than enough storage. From several of them, you could even glimpse the sea in the distance.
Enormous, well equipped kitchen, with island, air con, BBQ room and laundry room. Impressive living dining room with some beautiful pieces of furniture and a gorgeous ceiling.
In terms of location, you really can’t get any better. A supermarket literally round the corner, a bakery is a 2 min walk away, a tapas bar on your doorstep. And a 3.5 minute walk away is a plethora of gorgeous restaurants (my son timed it!!). Really quiet, residential location, 5 min walk from local train station, where you could catch the regional train either to Olhao and Faro in one direction, or Cabanas and Vila Real in the other.
A big thank you to Emma who manages the property. Nothing was too much trouble. And unfortunately this was tested when we accidentally managed to lock ourselves out of the house one evening. She was there within 10 mins with a spare key! (Sorry Emma!)
In summary, a beautiful property in a superb location in a gorgeous town. You can’t go wrong. We’ll be back!
