As a family of 5 we really enjoyed our 6 night stay at this pretty converted mill. We were warmly welcomed with a few essentials in the fridge (milk, butter, bread, water etc). The house perfectly suited our needs, with air con in the main bedroom and the living area. The other bedrooms had ceiling and standing fans which were ok on all but the hottest of days, but as long as you kept the shutters closed in those rooms during the day it was fine. All windows and doors opened to excellent insect screens which we appreciated a lot. The surrounding gardens were planted up so beautifully with exotic cacti and succulents, we could see the owners are very passionate gardeners. The pool was great to lounge in but not deep enough for a good swim, which is made clear in the description. The shelves had plenty of books to browse and the dining room was great for meals and card games. Overall, for the most excellent and modest hire price, we were very satisfied with our choice of villa. Over the 6 days we particularly enjoyed exploring the beaches (Playa de La Muertos was fab), kayaking near Agua Amorgas & Carboneras coast, eating seafood in Garrucha, visiting some greenhouses in Almerimar (Clisol tour with Lola Gomez was very interesting, if you like that kind of thing). It was too hot for walks but at another time of year we would definitely have done a few hikes. Communication with Jerry, the owner, was good and he provided us with all the useful info we would have wanted via email.
