A wonderful, well equipped place which is located in a very scenic, peaceful setting. It's a very short drive from the excellent beach at Barmouth. Communication with the owner John was good and we had everything we needed to enjoy a fabulous week. The house is spacious and very comfortable. A super place for an enjoyable holiday.
Property was very comfortable and spacious. Gardens to the front and back provided a good outdoor space.
Large Dining Kitchen was fully equiped and also having access two seperate living areas, each with TV, wood burner and comfy seating was ideal for a large family to enjoy.
Property is situated just a few minutes away from Barmouth which has a variety of good shops and eating places.
Would definitely stay at this property again!
The property itself is perfect for what our family group wanted!!
Phone coverage is a bit hit & miss in the area so had a bit of trouble at first contacting John (the host) on arrival but he soon arrived to assist us gaining access and couldnt do enough for us.
Hopefully we will return to use this property again in the future.
Overall a terrific time was had by the whole family in an area of outstanding beauty with opportunities to please all the family. Would highly recommend this for a wide age range.
With 4 good-sized bedrooms and 3 bathrooms this house is perfect for a large family or group of friends to spend time together. The upstairs lounge, with its huge arched windows, is flooded with natural sunlight, making it a wonderful space to relax in the comfy sofas with a good book. There is also a second cosy lounge with wood burner and tv.
The kitchen is spacious and very well-equipped including a Rangemaster cooker, great for rustling up a roast dinner of Welsh lamb!
The outside space is magnificent! Large lawned areas, and a pretty orchard leading down to a gate onto the estuary.
Not only is the house comfortable and well equipped it is also in a great location for exploring Snowdonia National Park and beyond.
The first thing to say is that from the time of booking right up to the early part of our actual stay in the property John was immediately contactable and always provided detailed responses to any query in a friendly and conscientious manner.
With regards to our stay in the property we (seven adults) thoroughly enjoyed it, taking full benefit of the size and condition of the property, internally and externally. The more energetic members of the group were each able to take in the various local walks available. The facilities in the property were extremely comfortable and the surrounding garden was excellent (thoroughly enjoyed with the excellent weather we had - for most days!).
Pictures do not do the property justice, even better in real life. Great base to explore Snowdonia national park, with most things an hour or less drive, and loads to do on the door step.
7 friends for 7 nights, it was perfect. Great outdoor space & setting / entertaining spaces perfect.
Great property for a small group of friends and family. The location on the estuary was stunning and the house and gardens had great social spaces to spend time together or apart. The panorama walk (one of many walks) from near the cottage was fantastic. Barmouth has shops, pubs and takeaways and Harlech Beach and Castle further up the coast were simply stunning.
14 days was not enough!! The house is absolutey beautiful in peaceful place near the estuary. There was all that we need in the house and the owner is very nice and very accommodating from the start to the end. Thank you so much, I already want to come back!!
Very spacious, well-equipped and comfortable, in a stunning location. Lots to do nearby and a great beach at Barmouth. We really enjoyed our week and will be coming back.

Nice property, lovely stay
This is a really lovely property; spacious, comfortable and welcoming. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the variety of spaces inside and out, especially with two young people studying for various exams! The Mawddach estuary is stunning and there are many beautiful places to visit locally. I guess the only reason not to go for 5 stars is that the kitchen felt a little tired - but it’s totally usuable. Great communication from the owner too.

Beautiful property and grounds in a stunning location
7 of us stayed in The Stables for 3 nights in late October. We were blessed with glorious (albeit very cold) weather. The Stables is a stunning, sympathetically-refurbished property which can accommodate 8 very comfortably. It's location, nestling within a collection of restored and (some) unrestored farm buildings on the north shore of the Mawddach estuary is stunning.
The property is comfortable, well-equipped and warm (good central heating + a woodburning stove). The gardens are beautiful with extensive views up and and down the Mawddach estuary (which can be accessed from the grounds) and of the mountains beyond, including (the snow capped) Cadair Idris.
Loads of activities in the area include: cycling the Mawddach trail (from Dolgellau) and the beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne.
Mawddach Restaurant (approx 4 miles away towards Dolgellau) is definitely worth a visit.
The owner was delightful to deal with and telephoned us at the start and end of our visit to check we were all OK - which we were.
Many thanks.

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting
We stayed here for a family weekend break to enjoy the beach and mountains of North Wales. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms were comfortably furnished, the cottage was full of character and the upstairs living room was stunning.
