Absolutely gorgeous.Best view of all the Chalets we saw. Great use of space, great separation from teens.Very well kept and inviting.Definitely request again
It's not always easy to please grown kids, yet this place did just that! We all love the place which is closw to Hocking hills (a major plus).clean, organized, well kept place. I will definitely refer to people.
We loved this place! The location was tucked away and scenic, the fishing pond was a hit, and the cabin itself was unique and comfortable. It was super clean! Would definitely return to this location.
We had a great time! We enjoyed the view from the wrap around porch. We saw deer, bluejays and a fox. Surrounded by nature and all of it's wonder, it was a great get away from life in suburbia!
This was the perfect getaway for spring break. The house was perfect for 2 families with kids. It was nicer than the pictures showed. The only thing that would have made the house more comfortable was if it had a washer and dryer.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeview. It was the most clean Vrbo we have stayed at. I found the beds comfortable. There was plenty of room. We had a couple with two children, 5 & 7.
The children’s grandmother, and my husband and myself. The upstairs level worked for us older folks while the young took the spiral stairs which I would not recommend for people with physical challenges. The downstairs can be accessed via the sidewalk though in a pinch. The rooms above and below were a nice size along with the bathrooms. We used the grill and fire pit which is nice along with the hot tub. If I could recommend one thing to the company, I would send the contract as a pdf along with the e-signature contract. I could not get the e contract to work and found that I had to sign up for a free trial which I would have to cancel later before getting hit with an annual fee. I found this a hassle because the program would not allow me to print, sign, then scan and email. I had to use the snipping tool to navigate around it. I would offer people the option. Secondly, you will not receive the address to the location until the room was clean. All of us had Verizon and could not get good reception out there. I recommend printing up the directions to the Chalet office before leaving. Our phone GPS would not work, The office is open until 7 pm, so you can get a map to the Lakeview then head over there. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Chalet. Overall it was a great stay. We will return.
Suited our needs for last minute trip to the area, but not the best.
Overall the cabin is good. It’s clean, comfortable and had ample space for the family to relax. The location is okay, it’s not very secluded and you look down on the fishing pond and another cabin. There is another cabin next door. I’m sure during the summer it feels more private with tree growth. Check in process could be improved. We didn’t receive any welcome message on booking, and didn’t know we needed to sign a lease agreement before getting check in information. Had we not contacted the host two hours before check in we would not have any instructions. The hot tub was clean and in good condition. It was nice to have a basement rec room for the kids, however the ski ball game as seen in the pictures has been replaced by an arcade game. We have enjoyed places with more board games and/or gaming consoles, that would be a nice touch for a true family getaway. A few maintenance issues need to be addressed. Both TVs had broken HDMI ports and we had to switch ports to use the TVs. The lights above the stove and in the hot tub are out and a missing light bulb in one of the bedrooms. If guests plan to cook they should be prepared to bring everything they need;paper towels, napkins, foil, plastic wrap/bags etc.. Bring your own wood, charcoal and lighter fluid, there are no extras. Not even coffee! I would definitely suggest providing some complimentary coffee and fire wood. Perhaps it is too early in the season, but there is little outdoor seating, four plastic chairs and a small picnic table. The house sleeps eight and has two wrap around decks, there should be much more seating to enjoy the views. I would also recommend installing a washer and dryer. There is plenty of space and would be a great amenity for families, or anyone. I wouldn’t consider this place a great value. For the nightly rate it feels like corners are being cut and lacks personal touch. Most likely I wouldn’t stay here again considering the area is saturated with better places.
When we arrive, the first thing I notice was the kitchen was not clean as the tabletop had crumbs of food from the previous guests and the kitchen floor was not clean. Thank goodness I brought sanitizing wipes and a found a broom. For the expensive price I expected it to be clean. Also, the skeetball down stairs didn't even turn on as advertised. Unfortunately we will not stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeview Chalet. It offered 4 bedrooms each with a double bed which slept the 8 of us comfortably. We appreciated having a full bath on the main floor with two bedrooms and another full bathroom in the lower level where the other two bedrooms are.
We can't even express how nice our chalet was, we would definitely stay again. The place was clean, we loved the windows to let the light in, very bright, cozy, just loved it.
Great location, decent space, ameneties could be better.
This is a very nice space in a great location of Hocking Hills for hiking, canoeing and exploring the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a couple areas in need of improvement. There were a limited set of cooking & grilling pots, pans, and no microwavable bowls with covers.
The grill itself is charcoal, somewhat old, and requries you to cook on tin foil if you really want to use it. For the cost of this space i can't understand why you wouldn't include a gas grill. My fault for not catching this before booking the place but it would make a huge different in the quality of our visit and save significant time. I understand you are out in a more rural area but the kitchen and shower water has and odor to it and feels a little greasy so we used all bottled water during our stay. The hot tub water also felt somewhat greasy but i suspect that just how the water is in the area.
The place itself was very nice and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating.
There were steps everywhere. Several to access the building. There was no grip bar in the bathroom. My mom arrived before us and since the stairs to get in were more than her chair (even with the small ramp she brought) could navigate, she had to wait in her car until the rest of us arrived and could set up a major large ramp so she could get in the house. We chose this, a more expensive rental, primarily because it purported to be wheelchair accessible. It was not.
With everything canceled and my kiddo turning 18, this was a great getaway for her birthday. I would definitely stay at The Chalets again. They have several places to choose from and all looked equally as nice.
