Located in the historic village of Stoney Middleton, England, United Kingdom the Annex is a newly renovated 2 bedroom annexe with open plan living room and kitchen, upstairs toilet and downstairs shower room and toilet. The flat sleeps four comfortably (There are black-out blinds in each bedroom) and has its own entrance. Outside there is a patio with table and seating for 4 plus a fire pit and barbecue. We are less than 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village and also a five minute walk from open countryside. There is a footpath to the village centre which runs parallel to the road on our side and comes out in the Moon Inn car park. In the village centre is a church, the Moon Inn, which serves food, a curry house, fish and chip shop and two butchers. A Spar Mini Market, two cafes and two other pubs are in Calver which is less than a five minute drive away or a 10 minute walk. For climbers the famous trad and sports climbing areas of Stoney and for cavers the Carlswark system are a 15 minute walk away. The area is also popular with Mountain Bikers. Stoney Middleton is an ideal base from which to explore north Derbyshire, with Chatsworth House, Hassop Hall, Castleton, the historic plague village of Eyam, and Bakewell all within a 20 minute drive. It is beautiful walking country being close to the boundary between the limestone and the gritstone so you can choose between the limestone dales (with their wildflowers and fossils) or the gritstone moors and edges (stunning views and wildlife including red deer). Coombsdale is a five minute walk away, Curbar Edge and Big Moor are a five minute drive away and Stanage Edge is 15-20 minutes away. There is also a well equipped children's play area less than five minutes walk away-back along the footpath towards Calver at the top of the football field. You will pass this if you decide to explore Coombsdale.
