Very nice cabin peaceful and quiet a lot of starter things provided well equipped with anything you need very comfortable beds nice creek and wildlife very friendly owners and responsive with things to do and what ever you need would love to stay again in future
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this rustic cabin in the woods. The porch overlooking the creek was enjoyable to sit out on. The house had so many local artifacts to examine and enjoy-every day we found something more interesting. The cabin was a short ride to town/grocery store and local attractions. Would definitely go there again.
Beautiful view of stream and loved sitting on back balcony. Plenty of room and table to eat at too. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Property owners available for any questions. Would recommend.
Cabin was very clean and sooooo cozy. Had everything in there we could possibly want or need and then some.
The setting was peaceful and the sound of the stream in the back was very relaxing.
Bill and Bonnie were very pleasant, helpful and patient with our many questions. They are truly what hosts of VRBO rentals should be.
We would highly recommend this property for your next vacation.
This is the first time I have used the "VRBO" website...This host sets a very high standard for VRBO! I will be a repeat customer ! I can think of NO suggestions for improvement! Thanks Bill for a great vacation.
Location of the cabin was peaceful and quiet. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The host was very responsive and courteous. Our only issue was making pur way to the firpit and stream. It was difficult getting wood down there as there was no steps. Its a bit steep and i fell twice while trying to get down there. Over all we loved the view enjoyed the back porch and loved the area.
My family rented this cabin after our Air B&B was double booked! We are so glad that happened because this cabin was everything we dreamed of for our trip! It is a true cabin with just the right amount of luxury to not ruin the mountain getaway experience with distractions. It was very clean and stocked with everything we needed to get started which was so thoughtful. The cabin is beautiful on the inside and very welcoming. The view from the back porch is priceless, and once you go down to the park like back yard it is just as wonderful! My kids splashed inthe creek and tried fishing for trout for the first time and were not ready to leave! At the end of the day we played cards and enjoyed each others company either inside at the big family table or on the deck. So much fun!! We will be going back. Thank you to the wonderful owners for sharing!
Charming Cabin close to Lake Burton, Helen, Lake Chatuge.
Very, very charming Cabin, that we found to be very clean, beautifully decorated, well stocked with lots of towels, blankets, paper goods etc. The cabin is close to fun places. We went to The winery very close by. Took Lots of fun day trips. Loved the super hot water for showers/ bath. .Lots of seating and places to hang out indoors comfortably. We spent time on the wonderful deck with a park like setting to see, cows and a babbling brook. Bill and Bonnie were great hosts. The best we e experienced. They were available to answer questions we had. We found it challenging when navigating, loading and unloading our luggage, because driveway is steep. My husband's nearly 70 and I'm in my mid sixties. The TV may need to be fixed or replaced, because the sound didn't always work properly. Looks like the cabin is normally available during warmer seasons. There was an early cold front and when it was in the twenties outside, we were feeling cold later at night even with the electric heaters and the wood stove.
Had an amazing time, the cabin was perfect and it had everything we needed. The property owners are the nicest and easiest to have contact with when needed. Can not wait for next year ❤️
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a relaxing vacation and "get back to nature." We loved the cabin and the extra large back porch where you have beautiful views of pastures, a babbling creek and privacy to unplug. The location is perfect if you are looking to get out of the city, but close to both Clayton and Hiawassee for day trips. Tons of hiking and the Appalachian Trail is just 5 mins away. Bill and Bonnie were EXCELLENT hosts and were happy to answer any questions we had. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to make meals and enjoy every moment. We will absolutely be back! Thank you again Bill and Bonnie! My husband had a wonderful birthday trip!
Great Cabin in the Mountains, has everything you need to get you started just in case you forgot something. 2 bedrooms, - 1 of them is a loft. Full Kitchen, just like being home. Property has a nice small stream in the back yard. did a bit of Fishing with my boys. Close to everything in case you need to do some shopping, and Yes there is a Walmart in Casey Ga, about 20 minutes away. Had a Blast enjoying the local natural beauty. Helen Georgia, just 20 minutes south is a Must See. (Small German/Bavarian Village). Will come back again. Thank you Bill and Bonney.
Great area a plus for visiting NC as well. Enjoyed Brasstown lodge for romantic dinner.
Enjoyed it, was a great setting for relaxing. However the seating was not very comfortable. Suggestion a couch instead of love seat for comfort. TV upstairs also would be nice. Entrance to upstairs bathroom is a trip Hazzard.
We enjoyed our stay, cabin was cozy. Only complaint is chairs and loveseat we're not comfortable but the beds we're great, a little trouble turning our truck and trailer around but we made it.
This charming cabin had plenty room for my husband and me, and the hosts provided everything needed (linens, dishes, magazines, games and more). There's knotty pine throughout, vaulted ceilings, a huge dining table and porch where you can enjoy the babbling brook and listen to roosters crow. There's hiking nearby, boat rentals and fishing, plus several cute towns. Hiawassee has a grocery, pharmacy and other services if you're staying awhile. In the evenings, when we preferred not to drive the dark, curvy roads, we enjoyed the large TV and played games. Hosts Bill and Bonnie were readily available for any questions. A lovely visit!
I liked the cabin. I loved the back porch. I loved the surrounding area. But for those of you who read the reviews, like me, and try and find the right place for your group or family then there are some things I need to tell you.
There are some electrical issues with this cabin. There are many electrical outlets and light switches that do not have cover plates. If you have small children there are receptacles near the floor that they could easily get their fingers into. There is an extension cord ran to the AC unit cause the receptacle close to it didn't work. There are wires hanging from the ceiling where lights are going to go but have not been finished. Kitchen could use more light. This cabin also does not have an abundance of receptacles so if you have a full house with cell phones, laptops, ect. keep that in mind.
I really hate to say this in a review but the electrical was never finished and I found it concerning. $20-$30 and an hour of work and I would not have an issue. But if you go back through the reviews Oct 2019 "still under construction with wires and wall plates not over some receptacles." Sept 2018 "desperately needs outlet covers on the walls. Couldn't let the kids near any outlets." These are things that need fixed and for what ever reason have not been.
The railing going up to the loft could use another board or two to keep the small children from falling through.
The listing says it has 6 beds and sleeps 8 which I believe is a little generous. There are no closets or chest of drawers so your clothes and other stuff take up alot of room. I think comfortably the cabin capacity is no more than 6. We had 4 and I would not want any more.
I did love the cabin and I don't want to deter any one from coming here. Bill answered all my questions fairly quickly. If you are adults or older teens it might not be an issue. But I felt the need to be honest if you are looking at this place, especially with younger children.
Wonderful, spacious cabin in North Georgia Mountains
Very nice cabin in North Georgia. Lots of cute knickknacks and personality inside too that the pictures don't even do all the justice to. Enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the wood-burning stove (there's an electric one too of course). Firewood, kindling, firestarters and all that laid out for the length of my stay as well. Seems like they thought of everything. Communication was also prompt and super. Would highly recommend!
We enjoyed every minute spent in the cabin! The cabin had a very cozy atmosphere and was well kept. It’s a short drive into town and was only about 1-2 hours to all the hikes we planned out. We especially loved sitting on the back porch and listening to the creek flow while watching the cows on the property behind. Bill was a great host and answered every question we had and more! Thank you Bill and Bonnie for opening your home to us! We can’t wait to plan another stay!
I can't really add anything new to all the other reviews. The cabin sits on a beautiful piece of property with a bon fire pit & a stream. It's well equipped & I doubt you will need anything except groceries. My favorite part of the cabin was the elevated back porch.
The only improvement I would like to see is a door on (at least) one of the bathrooms.
As far as the area goes, I preferred the old town main streets in Clayton to the utilitarian convenience of Hiawassee.
