Beautiful Converted Barn - close to Newgale Beach & Pembrokeshire Coast
Recently renovated to a very high standard Meadow Barn offers spacious family holiday accommodation. Conveniently situated in the village of Roch the cottage is one of three, set around a gravel yard adjacent to the owners property. The cottage benefits from off street parking for two cars and its own private garden with BBQ and picnic bench. Newgale Beach is just a mile and a half away and we are also ideally located for exploring the coastal scenery that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
Inside the cottage there is a large open plan sitting / dining room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors into a generous conservatory. The main double bedroom is on the ground floor and also benefits from patio doors to the garden and an en-suite WC. There is a small step up between the main living room and other rooms downstairs. Upstairs there is a bathroom with bath and electric shower and a twin bedroom suitable for adults or children.
This holiday cottage is very attractive inside, retaining many of its original features, including exposed stone walls, original beams and brick arches. At the same time it also benefits from modern amenities such as double glazing and oil central heating.
Meadow Barn is generously equipped with all that you need to make your stay comfortable, including dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer as well as FreeSat TV. We invest in good quality mattresses to make beds as comfortable as possible and use hotel quality, pure cotton sheets as well as providing additional wool blankets for each bed. The cottage is heated with oil central heating (included) and also has a feature electric fire in the main room. In combination with good insulation (and thick stone walls) our experience is that the cottage is comfortable and cosy even in the depths of Winter. Decorated with work from local artists and local photos.

We stayed for 4 nights in Meadow Barn. The barn is lovely and the welcome box, milk and cakes from the owners was a lovely touch. The barn has everything you expect from a holiday home, we especially liked the conservatory, great for storing boots and cleaning the dog. The electric fire in the lounge/diner makes it very cosy. The bed was really comfortable and kitchen was really well equipped. The barn is located in a great place to explore Pembrokeshire. We particularly loved Newgale beach, Druidstone beach, Solva, St David’s, Broad Haven, Stackpole Quay and Barafundle Bay. Please note that there is no longer a shop in Roch so make sure you purchase anything you need either in Haverfordwest for a bigger supermarket or there are two local garages less than 10 minutes drive from the barn.We loved our stay and can fully recommend the barn especially for dog owners as the barn has its own secure garden.
Very well presented.
Very comfortable bed! (SO IMPORTANT)
Not made to feel unwelcome because we have 2 small dogs
Great facilities and very nice cutlery and crockery as well as good quality pots and pand
good quality utensils, should you wish to cook dinner!
Had a wonderful week’s stay with all the comforts of home. Ideally situated for beach & surrounding area.
A beautiful barn very peaceful & private with a lovely garden.
Would definitely come back
The property is well located in the middle of Pembrokeshire, 30mins max away from all main must dos and must sees in Pembrokeshire.
The host is very knowledgeable and gave us loads of advices about things to do with our children. The property is very well equipped and the encolsed garden was perfect for our young dog.dog.equipedchildren.
Our second time staying our home from home. Brilliant quiet location beach and lovely coves nearby.
Everything you could need for a comfortable stay hopefully will be returning next year
Stunning!
A comfortable blend of ancient and contemporary accomodation, full facilities, outdoor and in. Newgale beach blissful - in whatever weather, although we were lucky with the sun.
Friendly host. Highly Recommended
A very comfortable, well equipped and spacious property ideally placed for visiting the Pembrokeshire coast. The conservatory and sunny garden are very welcome features. Situated close to many superb beaches and an excellent choice of places to eat and drink this has been a very memorable holiday.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Paul and Juliet converted this barn into a top class holiday home. Close to beaches and everything what Pembrokeshire is famous for. Go for the puffins on Skomer Island (between April and August).
Plenty of space for a family of 4.
The property was perfect, we didn’t want or need anything.
The welcome pack was excellent and the information book covered lots of information.
There was a lovely touch when we arrived with homemade cakes, including Welsh cakes.
A highly recommended place to stay
Lovely short break at Meadow Barn! We were kindly left traditional welsh treats on arrival. The barn was perfect. Lovely walks especially from St Davids back along the coast path. Thanks for a great stay!
We arrived at the property on Boxing day as a family of 3 (inc a teenager). The host had been in touch a good few weeks before our arrival with lots of information, including location, local amenities and things to do in the area. Being Christmas they even asked if we'd like a Christmas tree, which we accepted and it looked great! The property was superbly clean, warm, comfortable and very well equipped and we were supplied with a number of essentials including tea, milk, cleaning products, dishwasher and washing machine tabs to name a few. Paul and Juliet were even so kind as to supply some slices of Christmas cake and Mince pies.
For us, the location was superb, a short 15 minute drive to Haverfordwest for grocery shopping, 20 minutes to the fantastic St Davids, 2 minutes to Newgale Beach, 40 minutes to Tenby. The village is small and quiet, perfect for a short evening walk up to the Castle (now a hotel).
Despite the rural location, the wifi worked really for the duration of our stay.
We were sorry to leave in the end as the property felt like a real home from home and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends looking stay in Pembrokeshire. A real 5* property.
We stayed for 4 nights and were incredibly impressed.
We travel around the country a lot and have stayed in numerous places but this definitely ranks at the top of the list. (And it wasn't just the complimentary and very delicious cake on arrival!)
It was extremely spacious and comfortable. A very reasonable price (although it was November) and it is extremely well-equipped - everything you could possibly need except a food processor.
We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Everything you could need for a relaxing get away.
Warm and welcoming on a rainy day with a garden for sunny days.
Really well positioned about a mile away from the sea.
We loved visiting Solva, St David's, Fishguard and Newport
A lovely cottage with everything you could need for a great stay - and the Welsh cakes on arrival were delicious!
It's perfect if you're looking for a base to explore the beautiful beaches and coastal walks nearby.
Will definitely return!
We spent 1 week at Meadow Barn in Roch and had a great time there. The premises are cozy and offer enough space for a family. The kitchen is well equipped with everything for daily live. Roch itself doesn`t offer much for sightseeing but the magnificent coastline is only 3 minutes by car. The owners of the property are very kind and just around the corner if anything has to be clarified.
We had the most wonderful stay at Meadow barn, we had so looked forward to it and it was everything we dreamt of and more. The area is stunning and the barn beautiful and homely. Paul and Juliet are the loveliest people, so kind and helpful and a joy to be around. The space was perfect for us, our baby and dog, the only thing that could have improved it is if we could let our dog off the lead but we knew this was the case when we booked and just decided to make do. We can't wait to come back again soon and already planning another trip back next year. Thank you so much!
This is a charming cottage; well furnished, well-equipped and spacious for a family of 4. The garden is lovely, there is enough space to park the car. Wifi is good. We had good contact with the owners who also provide tenants with ample information about the cottage and its surroundings. The location is great, close to the coast and plenty of sights in Pembrokeshire. We really recommend this place and would certainly stay again.

About the host

Grew up in Pembrokeshire and returned to the area to run our own business and to bring up our own family. Passionate about the wonderful beaches and scenery that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
Why they chose this property
We loved the beaches in the area - particularly Newgale, but Nolton Haven and Solva also very special. Bought our property here because its so convenient for the coast and beaches but still central enough to be able to access local services and to explore Pembrokeshire more widely.
What makes this property unique
We liked the character of the property - built of traditional Pembrokeshire stone, with the original brick arches that allowed access. In converting it to a modern standard we have tried to maintain as much of the original character as possible. The thick stone walls mean that its cost in Winter - but stays cool in the hottest of Summers
