This large garden is totally enclosed and overlooks fields and woods with spectacular views south across the Cartmel Valley, across the bay and out to sea.
The garden has a BBQ, a large table and chairs and is a very peaceful and relaxing area to sit and relax or dine al fresco.

A large summer house has recently been added to the garden, complete with cushioned chairs, a large wine cooler/fridge, heating, lighting and electric.

Well behaved dogs are welcome for a small charge of £20 for 1 dog, £30 for 2 dogs. 2 dogs max.

Dog owners-please note, the rear garden is totally enclosed with a fine wire fence that is not clearly visible in the photos, however we ask that dogs are not left unattended in the garden.

The front of the property has 2 large parking areas affording space for at least 8 cars, a large lawned area and natural Lakeland rocks, crags and wildflowers. There’s also a small stream that runs down the side of the driveway before disappearing underground.

A very special place in a beautiful location
The property was large, clean, and furnished with everything I could need. Parking area is large, clean, and right outside the door to the property. Kitchen was kitted with quality equipment (pans, knives, utensils, etc) Bedrooms were fully equipped with everything you would expect. The rear of the property has excellent with good quality summer house. The property is very remote, and would recommend to drive to the property in daylight (at least for the first time) if you're not comfortable with narrow country roads. Saw deer outside of the property, and the views were amazing. Highly recommended.

Cartmel Hill
The property is in a beautiful location and overall is a good sized family house . It is well stocked with essential equipment . Surface Cleanliness was ok but could def do with deep clean everywhere . The shower door is missing in the ground floor bathroom which means water goes everywhere . The seal on one fridge is faulty and the freezer is iced up and so impossible to use. The biggest problem we had was that the rear garden fence was broken down . As we had two dogs with us and the adjoining field is full of lambs and sheep this meant that the dogs had to be tied on rope in the garden the whole time which was a real nuisance. This is an expensive property and as such needs some tidying up to reflect that . It would have been nice to know that the Cartmel races were on whilst we were there, although we had village 2 passes ( but we had three cars ) it was extremely busy with cars and people. Despite all we had a lovely week away in the Lakes.

Birthday celebrations 😊
Our party of 10 had a fabulous time together in the house. It’s clean and well equipped with everything you could need for a great stay. Cartmel was approx 25min walk away and a lovely little village to visit. All in all, I would recommend staying at Cartmel Hill House and hope to return at some point.

Perfect place for your Lake District visit
Our little getaway to Lake District would not have been as a fantastic experience as it was without the stay at Cartmel Hill. It is a perfect place to run away from the city as it is located in the stunning countryside. The house is kept in ideal tidiness, and it’s is visible that things are well looked after. The communication with the host was very welcoming and easy, as well as the check-in process. Everything was very well thought through, and we truly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt like being home, and that’s all you could ever want after a long hike. We would love to return.

Lovely spacious house
Cartmel Hill is a lovely house in a good location with a great view of the valley and estuary. The house was clean and warm and just as shown in the photographs with plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The summerhouse is a great feature, allowing us to benefit from sitting outdoors at a time of year when it may not otherwise have been so appealing. Simon provided all the information that we could need to make the most of our stay and we are already looking forward to another holiday at the house, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

Exceptional country house
Wonderful property with top class furnishings. This spacious property is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. The gardens are superb with spectacular views. The heated summer house (with fridge!) makes for very pleasant evenings when the weather is cooler or even wet. A very pleasant 20 minute walk into Cartmel.

Fantastic cottage in most beautiful location
A real home from home. You could not wish for anything else. We have had the pleasure of staying in lots of self catering cottages over the years and this one is top of our league table. Everything you need to leave the real world behind switch off your phone and TV and simply enjoy the surroundings. The cottage is spotless fantastically equipped and in an amazing location. Top tip if you haven't got a dog of your own borrow someone else's the walks from the door are fabulous. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Our weather was fantastic which of course added further to our enjoyment. We plan to return as soon as work commitments will allow. Stay here you won't regret it.

Perfect place for a relaxing week away.
From the moment you get to the bottom of the drive you’re struck by how beautiful the house and location is. The views are amazing. The house itself is querky. Two Bedrooms downstairs along with a playroom and cloak room. Living room and two more bedrooms upstairs which all have great views. Bathrooms are all lovely. Amazing kitchen if you like cooking which is well equipped. It’s about 30 minute walk to Carmel so we tended to stay in in the evening...the dining room is an amazing setting. Great base to explore The Lakes.

Wonderful House and Location
We recently returned from Cartmel Hill having spent Christmas with family from the United States and Canada. The house is absolutely stunning, even better than we ever imagined. The kitchen was very well equipped with every utensil you can think of. A pleasure to cook in. The bedrooms all very spacious and comfortable. Simon arranged various Christmas decorations and a tree which made the house so cosy and homely. We loved it. It's set in a perfect location for exploring the Lakes and even the Yorkshire Dales. Cartmel is a beautiful village especially so at Christmas with many fairy lights and trees. It was about a 20 minute walk from the house. We ate at the Pig and Whistle and The Cavendish Arms both serving good food but our overall vote went to the Cavendish. We also had lunch in Grange over Sands at the Hazelmere. Simon suggested some supermarkets that would deliver groceries and this worked out beautifully. We all thoroughly enjoyed staying in Cartmel Hill and cannot recommend it enough. I only wish we could have stayed longer but hope to return.
