Hiker's Home

This newly remodeled home has a big deck and is near community amenities such as a shared swimming pool and tennis courts! Next time you take a trip to Yosemite, this is the perfect home base.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood, this home is three miles north of Groveland's shops and eateries. The Pine Mountain Marina, with its many entertainment options, is about four miles southeast. It's just a short drive of 27 miles to Yosemite National Park for some of the world's best hiking and most gorgeous scenery. Black Oak Casino is 28 miles north, and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is just 55 miles north.

On quiet evenings, curl up on the couch with a crackling fire to warm the room and watch a show on cable. And stay plugged in with folks at home, if you like, with the free WiFi access.

A pleasant kitchen with wooden cabinets is fully equipped for your cooking needs. Perk up in the mornings with freshly brewed coffee, then make a hearty breakfast to fortify you for the day's activities. When you're done preparing the meal, pop the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and enjoy the fruits of your labor at the dining table inside or outside on the deck.

Food always seems to taste better out in the fresh air, surrounded by swaying trees and singing birds. On sunny afternoons, catch some fish at the Marina and grill them on the gas barbecue for flaky perfection.

Six guests will enjoy this cozy home. There are two bedrooms, one with a luxurious queen bed and one with two twins. There's also a sofabed in the living room for a few more members of your party. With mini-split air conditioning in each bedroom, the living room, and the dining room, families and groups of friends on a hiking retreat will be very comfortable here.

There's plenty to do for outdoor adventurers in Groveland. Rent a horse from the community equestrian center and see the area from a new perspective, or traverse the area on hiking trails. You can work on your swing, whether on the golf green or community tennis courts, and the Pine Mountain Lake Marina is a great place to get out on the water. Go swimming or rent a nonmotorized boat or kayak from the marina, then take a break for a meal at the Lakeside Cafe.

A place of rare beauty, Yosemite National Park has brought inspiration to many artists. Bring along a camera or your sketchpad to capture the memory of your trip to this lovely place. Hike to Glacier Point for a great view, or take the longer trek to Sentinel Dome. If you're here in the winter, make sure to bring along your gear for skiing and snowboarding!

It's time to escape the city and the daily grind. Book this home today!

Comfortable and quiet
Comfortable home with a great view in a quiet area. Not many dvds or games but it wasn't important to us. wifi worked fine. Lots of privacy, plenty of space for our family of 3. The only issue was finding the house at night -- the driveway is shared by another home downhill and it took a while to find it. A map of the location and some info on going all the way up the driveway would have helped. Also, the steep section of driveway was difficult with a frontwheel drive in the rain. Grateful for a friendly neighbor who suggested we start back at the bottom and get a running start to get past the steep section. :)

Hikers home
Enjoyed our stay. House was perfect and clean. Everything worked except gas fireplace. We had some very small issues but vacasa responded very quick via text and resolved issues right away. I will stay here again.

Cute place
Location was not as close to our family or the lake as we thought, but the place is cute and cozy. The bed was noisy and not very comfy. Not many television channels if you want to watch tv and just a main tv on the living room , No bedroom tvs Other than that , nice place to stay. Stocked kitchen was nice.

Close to Yosemite!
The house was comfortable! Some dishes were dirty in the cabinet, bedding could use some updating, shower door is broken, carpets need to be cleaned, the kitchen sink had ants, the cooler remotes didn’t work in the living room and twin bedroom.

clean and cozy, nice balcony view
My friends and I stayed here during our trip to Yosemite. It was less than an hour of drive to the national park. The kitchen utensils are complete, and there are more spices than I expected. Love the view and the grill on the balcony. We felt relaxed after a long day of hiking. Definitely recommend it!

Good and the bad
The good: It’s a nice location in relation to Yosemite. It has enough good restaurants within 5-15 minutes. The air conditioning worked great. The bad: There was an obvious pile of crumbs on the counter of the kitchen and some more bits of crumbs that had not been vacuumed up in the bedroom. The shower was dirty. The bed creaks and squeaks at the smallest movement. And as stated in previous reviews, there’s an ant problem.

Looks like property was vacant for a while. When we arrived it smelled pretty bad, spider webs inside bathroom and bedroom curtain was broken which was inconvenient for the night. The grill outside was so filthy. When we had 1 hour before arrival we get an email that we would have to pay $35 just to enter the site, when we get there we were charged $40 and only cash. Ants were very where but I guess it was due to the extreme heat…. Maybe. Neighbors dogs will wake you up 😑

Perfect Weekend Getaway for Launching into Yosemite!
Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at the Hikers Home! We used this as our launching point into Yosemite for a few day hikes. It is about 30 minutes to the main Yosemite gate. The house was clean and perfect for our needs. They had updated cushions for the outdoor patio so we enjoyed sitting on the deck and BBQing! We also were able to enjoy the Pine Mountain Lake Marina. On weekends, you can easily just park on the street and walk down to the very well maintained grassy area, beach and marina with nice shady spots. There is a designated swimming area and a Marina store where you can buy floaties, sunscreen, etc! It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday before our drive home. The only challenging part is navigating to the house without going outside of the gated entrances. There are numerous gates that you need a key fob to enter (which you don't have as a guest). So you need to go to the main gate, and then do a rather roundabout drive to get to the house. Vacasa: please update your email to include the directions to stay inside of the gated area to get to the house. Directions that we used: - After you pass through the main gate, turn left on Tannahill Drive - Turn right on Pleasantview Drive - Turn right onto Mueller Drive - Turn right onto the SECOND Wells Fargo Drive (do not turn right at the first one) - Turn right at James Circle - Then the house is a little ways down the street on the right! Thanks again for a lovely stay!

Cute but needs some updates
Cute little home perfect for day trips to Yosemite. Great deck for watching stars and nice location with deer and friendly neighbors. Only issues that keep this from being a property I would return to or recommend: the dishes were actually still dirty and had to run a load through before we could use them. Otherwise it was clean and tidy. There is also a pretty bad ant problem in the bathroom and Kitchen. You have to put your toothbrushes in ziplocks to keep them from swarming and no food can be stored in cupboards. I used our ice chest for dry food storage. The basic television channels would get stuck and then the signal would go out so no watching tv either. But the number one fix-I would recommend replacing the master bedroom mattress. It is so uncomfortable that we wanted to go home and my husband and I fought over who got to sleep on the sofa. Nothing is worse than a sagging old mattress that you can feel every coil, squeak and creak if your partner moves, and keeps you from getting a decent nights sleep. Even a mattress topper would help. I rented a house to avoid camping and sleeping on the ground but the ground is more comfortable. Fix those things and I think you would have better reviews and repeat guests.

Cozy Stay
This home was very cozy in the evenings. We really enjoyed the fireplace and board games that were in the house! The parking fee was a bit expensive ($33 per car) so we had to adjust our plans and carpool in and out of the neighborhood to keep costs down.

Good location for access to Yosemite
We hiked for 3 days in Yosemite and since lodging options were limited, choose to stay here. Good news is home is roomy and can easily sleep 4 (6 would be cozy on the pullout couch). It is a 80 minute drive to Yosemite Valley Village (50 miles) - we went in Sept when there wasn't much traffic, so plan for longer on weekends or during the summer. Home is in Pine Lakes community (must pay fee to gate guard) for parking pass and about a 10 minute drive from main gate to the home. Don't follow GPS since it will try to take you a more direct route but you need a community gate clicker. Vacasa was not able to let us check in early & we had to call them to come clean a few areas. Vacasa was good about having extra propane available as we asked which was appreciated. We enjoyed eating dinners on the large deck, watching the deer and wild turkeys and admiring the full moon. Home feels a bit run down and could use a deep clean, carpet cleaning and newer kitchen items (only 1 wine glass). Overall is was OK but price seemed high for what you got.

Good Stay
We were 7 people and stayed here for 2 days. The house is huge and a full fledged kitchen with all amenities. Enough beds and recliners for all. Towels were provided. The place was clean and in a beautiful location in the midst of nature. An hour drive from the most of the popular Yosemite attractions. The only downside was there was only 1 bathroom for 6 people but that is manageable if you plan wisely. Overall, a wonderful stay and would choose again!!

Great location but hidden fees
Lovely for a 4 person trip. Location was great for us. Downsizes: Check in process is long as you have to check in at a guard box and get a parking pass. You also have to pay $30 per car to enter and obtain this parking pass. This is a hidden fee that the ad did not mention. We were a bit upset about this extra charge. Kitchen was fully stocked. Bed was comfy enough. House was warmed adequately. The toilet was the only tempermental thing. Nothing should be flushed in it. Not even toilet paper. not sure we would stay again after the extra fees. but overall we had a nice vacation here.

Great little cabin but....
Loved the cabin had most thing that you would need including a washer and dryer ironing board but no iron ? Could do with more info being available on the general area , access points to the lake and beach maybe some info on local hikes etc Not sure what the issue is with Lone Pine Mountain Resort but all guests have to use specific roads which almost doubles the time to reach the cabin when owners can whizz through barriers appreciate its not vacasa's fault

Needs
House is suitable. Bed is of poor quality and uncomfortable but all other inside furnishings are fine. The gas grill did not have propane so we were unable to grill. There is a table and four chairs on the deck but two chairs are missing the cushions and the other two had cushions that were ripped and torn. We had to call the management company for trash bags as well as dish washer detergent. There was only one trash bag for a weeks stay and nothing for recyclables. They did promptly bring the items. We brought our recyclables to the recycling center in town ourselves.
