Large historic barn conversion on smallholding with alpacas, goats and pigs
Centrally located in totally unspoilt Cornish countryside - away from the crowds but only 15-20 minutes from both North and South coasts. A perfect opportunity for a peaceful and relaxing stay with all major tourist attractions within easy reach. This large barn conversion is a Grade II listed building, and believed to have once been a working mill. You can still see evidence of the wagon entrance in the long granite lintels above the downstairs double bedroom. You enter the property into the spacious kitchen/diner with oak kitchen units and farmhouse dining table to seat eight. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, separate fridge and freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The spectacular lounge is where you’ll really feel the barn’s history. This has with wooden flooring, vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, a low-level door to the garden, TV, Freeview and DVD. The barn has FOUR bedrooms: 1 large double bedroom with en-suite and 2 twins are situated on the ground floor, and a further double with four poster bed and en-suite upstairs. There is also a stylish family bathroom downstairs. Right outside the front door is parking for 2 cars (although we can squeeze a maximum of 3, including any visitors you may have). To the rear of the property is a large secure, private garden with plenty of outdoor seating.

Our family -three generations - really enjoyed our stay in the Barn. Ideal location for easy access to north and south coast and private garden ideal for our Beagle. Iain and Julia were so kind and went the extra mile - especially as we think they and daughter Daisy, arranged for our granddaughter to have a candle on her pudding on her 6th birthday at the local pub. Tiny gestures that mean a lot and that goes for the welcome pack which was much more than expected. So many thanks and thoroughly recommended - but not for the dates we may want for a return trip! Meur Ras!
Excellent communication with owner. Lovely quiet location. Good accommodation with all necessary facilities and lovely private garden. Well placed for accessing good beaches on north and south coasts. Extra plus was the alpacas, horses and pot bellied pigs which the owners supervised us feeding. Our granddaughter loved this.
A very large and extremely cosy farmhouse - perfect for a family getaway from it all.
Our hosts where amazing - we even got to hold baby piglets and feed the Alpacas, which doesn’t happen everyday!
Thank you for a relaxing stay at Trevellan Farm 🐶😄
We had a wonderful two week break in Trethellan View. Beautiful cottage, beautifully decorated and we were extremely well looked after by Iain and Julia. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The added bonus of feeding the animals was a joy. The location was central to all of the places you would wish to visit. We would not hesitate to return. It was perfect in every way.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property ,spacious rooms ,clean ,quiet and comfortable .Enjoyed feeding the animals ,hope to return again in the future .Thank you .
Had a nice stay. Everything was as described, smooth check-in and friendly welcome. We all loved feeding the animals. Location is a bit remote but easy access to other places by car.
As a family with two three year olds and a six year old the property met our needs perfectly in the size of accommodation, safe enclosed private garden and peaceful location. The owners were friendly and attentive and allowed us to feed their farm animals which caused great excitement for the children.
We were blessed with a week of sunshine and no rain which enabled us to enjoy a great holiday in this delightful cottage. We found the location ideal for visiting the many nearby stunning beaches and places of interest and Ian and Julia proved to be warm and helpful hosts. We were a group of two seniors with our daughter and husband , their son of 10 months and their large dog. We found the large secure and secluded rear garden of great benefit and the overall peaceful ambiance of the farm was very relaxing.
If forced to be critical we found the cot provided to be very small and one of the mattresses was very soft but these comments are intended to be helpful rather than complaints.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property to any of our acquaintances.

Rustic Charm in the Countryside
Our group of 4 travelers stayed here in early May 2019. Our hosts could not have been nicer and our accommodations were what we expected.
We don’t hesitate to recommend this property for someone who is seeking the peace and quite if the Cornish countryside as we were.

Wonderfull
We really appeciate our stay in Lanner.
The house of Julia and Lain is perfect for exploring west Cornwalls or just to relax.
It was just a pity to stay there for only 4 nights...

Lovely, spacious holiday retreat
This is a wonderful house for a large group of people, it sleeps up to 8 people with 4 bedrooms. Although it is big it feels homely and comfortable. The large kitchen/diner and 3 of the bedrooms (1 double ensuite and 2 twins) plus a family bathroom are downstairs and upstairs is a wonderful living room area, really lovely and spacious, a further double bedroom with ensuite as well as an additional toilet. Lovely to be welcomed with supplies for coffee, tea and biscuits. The garden is generous and secure, great when you have a dog! The additional delight of feedilng alpacas on the farm went down well with my elderly mother and grown up daughter. Good location for Falmouth, St. Ives etc. Iain and Julia were very welcoming and accommodating. Great place!

Idyllic spot; ideal for families
Recently spent 4 nights in the largest of the three barns. Our party of six spanned three generations and included two children aged 4 and 7. The barn was ideal for us - good location for touring the area and spotlesslessly clean. Ian and Julia were perfect hosts; on hand to deal with any queries and introducing us to their growing menagerie of pets! We will certainly stay there again when next in Cornwall.

The animals were a real treat especially feeding the alpacas. The place itself was very cosy, clean and welcoming. Good location and relaxing. Will be booking again soon for sure!

About the host
Hosted by Iain McAlpine
Family man with 4 school-aged kids. Thoroughly enjoying running our family business with my hard-working wife Julia after spending too long in the rat-race. Love travelling - stayed in anything and everything from a tent to a 5 star hotel all over the world. Spent 3.5 years in Texas before moving here and loved every moment when I wasn't working. Still working on losing the trans-Atlantic accent.
