The cottage is within 1.5KM of a typical French Village, housing the usual and traditional Boulangerie, Patisserie and of course a popular bar & restaurant. The cottage is well equipped with 2 double bedrooms, and a third twin room. The kitchen has the usual accessories, cooker with an oven, fridge, freezer, micro wave, kettle toaster etc. There is an outside play area for children and it is also within easy walking distance of a well stock Carp pool. The area is ideal for the recreational cyclist and also for those who like a little bit more of a challenge. Storage areas are available for bikes.

Merci

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Certains manques dans la location comme cafetière électrique, vaisselle insuffisante
Nous aurions aimé trouver un livret d'accueil en français ainsi que des meubles de jardin propres
It is a nice small house in a quiet location in the countryside, and that was exactly what are we looking for. You can do daytrips to the coast or visit some beautiful villages and cities or just stay „at home“ read a book or do some sport. When we visited the nearest town, Domfront, a medieval market took place, which was really nice. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend the house.
This was a super getaway. I had misread the listing and thought there was WiFi, so "hunt a 4G signal" became a game to our 12 year old! There were 4 of us - two adults, a 12 year old and a 2 year old - there was ample space at the property and it was well appointed. There were a couple of niggles around the kitchen, but nothing that we weren't able to solve and help out with. The beds are super comfortable and, in the midst of summer, it is great that you can keep the windows open easily.
Domfront, the nearest town is lovely and well worth a visit, but the nearest Lidl is in St Hilaire *worth the extra drive*. Unfortunately the local play area has been neglected, so it took us a while to find a good park for the littlest, but we managed it. Great location for a rest. Some. Super places within an hour and a half and lots of great memories made!
Thank you!

2 weeks break, August 2018. Can only describe as wonderful
Property is simple and comfortable, kitchen has been replaced since our last stay. Good to have all linen, towels etc included. Very quiet indeed if you need a bit of peace!..There is so much to do and see with an hour in any direction. Domfront only 10 minutes away, Tourist information office a must, but the Gite owners have left lots of leaflets in the dwelling anyway. This is our second main holiday in the Gite and we hope to be back again next year

Clean but needs updating
Although the property was clean and situated in a lovely quiet location, it doesn't seem cared for. It needs updating and a few items fixing (such as the cracked window, a plug socket coming away from the wall). The outside could do to be smartened up.

Great country house.
A lovely place to stay, clean, tidy and well equipped kitchen. It is in a beautiful countryside location, and you can park right outside. Great to have English TV, a bonus as most French gite's have only French TV.

le mazeray
The gite was in such a lovely position, very close to the village of Passais la Conception and the beautiful medieval city of Domfront. On arrival we felt that the gite was a wee bit forlorn and unloved. The grass and shrubs around the building were rather overgrown and the access to the rear was difficult to negotiate as there were no dedicated steps, unless they were under the trees. The interior was fresh and clean. It had a new kitchen and the 3 bedrooms were very good. The bathroom was ok,a bit dated, but perfectly adequate.
The gite would benefit greatly from a welcome board explaining that the electricity needed to be switched on at the mains, instructions on the operation of the oven,TV and the eternal areas maintained regularly. Also a chopping board!!
We enjoyed the gite very much and want to return soon .

Basic but comfortable house in beautiful location
We stayed as a family of 5 here for 3 nights in July. The house, bedding, towels etc were all scrupulously clean but the décor reminded me of going to stay with my grandparents about 30 years ago. We only had our breakfasts in the house and were out on day trips for lunch and went to local (ish) restaurants for dinner - but beware Sunday and Monday evenings mean most of them are closed!
Local medieval town Domfront is beautiful and was a real surprise for us and we also made it to Mont St Michel (60 mins) and Bayeux (90 mins) and a wonderful free concert in Lonlay church (15 mins).
Car is a must - the nearest shops in Passais are 1.5 miles away, but down a country road with no pavement.
Electricity was off when we arrived and there were no clear instructions as to how to switch it on, but the friendly next door neighbour sorted us out. A different neighbour's (very friendly) dog also spent much of his time seeking our attention and casually strolling into the house.
In summary: a great base for exploring the region and the very good value rental price reflects the property's condition.

Tutto come previsto

Perfect country hideaway
Lovely cottage in quiet location, found down a country lane with only 3 other houses, you wake up to the sound of birds and look out onto two fields of cows (don't worry it doesn't smell of farmyards!) but perfect for visiting the many sites to be found locally such as Domfront - highly recommend anyone to go there.
The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything you need for your stay, very spacious with three very good sized bedrooms, (no stairgate that I could see if you have very young children, so take your own) large lounge/diner, kitchen, TV, washing machine, fridge & freezer, microwave etc all nice and clean. There are even some books for you to read & games to play, no wifi but who wants to be stuck looking at your PC when you're on holiday. I'd say the only thing missing is some garden chairs so you can sit and enjoy the sunshine outside. I'm not sure what it would be like should you visit during the winter as the heating seemed to be electric radiators, so cant really comment on their heat output as we went in summer.
There are plenty of tourist leaflets inside the cottage which give you some idea of places to visit if you haven't anything pre-planned.
Parking would be fine for 2 cars.
We met the neighbour, who brought us a bag of home grown green gages - very kind as we cant speak French except for the usual Bonjour, Merci!
We have two children aged 9 and 6 and I wasn't sure if they'd be bored here, but they enjoyed their stay far more than the mobile home on a Eurocamp site with the usual pool & entertainment facilities that we'd come from!
Good customer service from the owner who answered all of my questions quickly.
In summary, a great place to stay, highly recommended and we'll return when we can!
