Everything was perfect. This was a magical stay at an idyllic cottage. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were fortunate to see dolphins, a seal, and even sharks in the water. Locals were very friendly and we hope to come back again. Thank you Johanna for an enchanting experience!
We had a wonderful time in this quiant cottage. The scenery was stunning and the location was perfect for exploring all the attractions County Antrim has to offer.

Location - cleanliness
Location is excellent.
Property poorly maintained, on a short -term(cleaning) basis or a long-term (ongoing improvement/maintenance) basis.
No blind on the bathroom window (we had to use bodyboards for privacy).
Many windows are corroded and do not open. Putting a rustic label that says don’t open the window, is not charming.
Tumble drier vents into a kitchen cupboard in an already (by its age) damp property.
Not clean. Kitchen floor had to be vacuumed (after we cleaned-emptied and cleared a blockage in the vacuum cleaner).
We had to transfer wet towels from the washing machine to tumble dry.
Flies in the kitchen constantly. Kitchen units peeling from damp.
The location is second to none, however there are better options on this coastline.
The cottage was everything the listing and photos promise, an absolutely stunning location right on the coast road so easily accessible from Larne, with trips to the towns, villages and glens very easy. We spent a fair bit of time in Cushendall which has a fantastic Tourist Information as well as petrol, small shops and cash machines. The property itself has a fantastic large living room, very effective heating, a bathroom with the best view ever and really comfortable bedrooms. If you're into Game of Thrones there's also a GoT location hidden away in the hills behind the coast road, 30 minutes steep walk away. Communication with the host couldn't have been better. All in all, Fallowvee Cottage is a stunner.
The cottage is everything the listing says and more. We loved out stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Johanna was a very gracious and took good care of us. Would love to come back again!
Fallowvee surpassed our expectations. Beautiful, historic cottage with incredible views. Our visit was following a week of sightseeing across Ireland. The cottage provided a nice change from the bustling pace of days prior. We enjoyed home cooked meals made in the well appointed kitchen. Hot water was plentiful and the shower’s water pressure excellent. The laundry amenities were efficient and enabled us to repack with more clean than dirty clothes. Our evenings were spent by the fire and were quite toasty! Bed linens were soft and towels were plush. All very welcome for 2 tired travelers. We loved the history of the property and the evidence that is a well-cared-for family treasure. We appreciated the art and heirlooms throughout the cottage.
Memories of the phenomenal views and sound of waves crashing will be the ‘happy place’ I retreat to when the realities of work and life soon return. What a perfect ending to our holiday.
Charming, clean, and comfortable historic cottage in a stunning location. Very easy to get to all the activities in Northern Ireland. We will stay longer next time.
Loved the Location! Cleanliness could be improved.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location was great, right on the ocean. We enjoyed the views and the sunsets. The property was functional but overall cleanliness and additional functionality could be improved. We were there during a warm week which made sleeping difficult as you can't open windows at night. Many of the windows/doors are unusable. Upon checking in the sink still had dishes in it and the dishwasher was full. The shower was different with addon doors attached to a tub which provided 1/3 coverage. The shower head needs to be replaced. There were many spider webs in the house. We wished there had been some table and chairs to sit outside as the chairs are unusable and the picnic table was questionable. It just needs a little TLC and it could be an amazing place!
The view and location are stunning, you can enjoy the view all day from the living room, sleeping room or the terrace. You can even see dolphins swimming in front of the house. Everything you need is there. Highly recommend.
We had wonderful five night stay at Fallowvee Cottage!
The cottage has a lot of character and charm right on the ocean. It was very clean, comfortable. We felt like we stepped back in time in this cozy cottage but it had modern conveniences as well. Washer/dryer, strong wifi, firestick etc. Johanna was very responsive and accommodating.
I would highly recommend if you want to be close enough to main attractions however far enough away to not be in a tourist trap.
I am very discerning when it comes to accomadations and let me ask for you this is accurately portrayed in the pictures and you should have no worries upon booking.
** I'm not sure why a previous guest left a bad review regarding laundry and smell.
There was laundry in the dryer but it was simply some towels already dried. There was an abundance of clean towels and linens available.
The "stench" was simply due to the cottage being older (which is part of the charm). Opening a few windows upon arriving freshened it up in a few minutes.
Amazing spot along one of the most scenic roads in the world. Very comfortable cottage with everything you would need in a vacation rental. We wish we had more time to enjoy it.
I absolutely loved our stay at Fallowvee Cottage in Glenariff. I had always dreamed of staying in an oceanfront cottage in Ireland and this was literally my dream come true! It was everything I could have hoped for. My favorite moment there was when we were sitting beside the fireplace looking out at the water and witnessing a large pod of dolphins swimming by. I was elated! Loved the occasional seal as well. Thank You Johanna, we'll be back!
The views are absolutely beautiful. We had issues with plumbing (this was also noted in the guest book by the previous guest as well) the water pump was not working which meant we had to pack up and move to a hotel. In addition, upon our arrival the washer and dryer were full of clothing - not to happy about having to pay housekeeping and then doing the housekeepers work. Owner has notes around the home about pending improvements--Which will make it better! With all things considered, my children and I made memories that will last a lifetime. Jo was responsive to concerns.....thanks for hosting us!
This beautiful property is in a stunning location and is perfect for exploring the Antrim Coast. It is very well equipped and extremes comfortable with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back!
Excellent property in a truly fantastic location. Everything one needs to take in the coastal air.
I guess this would be my first VRBO in Ireland, although I’ve probably rented seven dozen in the US and Canada. Everything was as expected from a rental standpoint. Very convenient. Directions we’re excellent.
Exceptional property with a very interesting history. We could hear and see the sea from our windows. Beautiful views. Well equipped. There was a glitch with the pre arrival cleaning of the property but it was quickly rectified. Great walk from the cottage into the hills behind the property. Would happily have stayed for a much longer period. Beautiful spot
Lovely cottage by the sea. Stunning Views. Cottage even nicer than the photos. Well equipped with soap, shower gel, washing up liquid, fuel for fire etc. Comfy bed. Only down side - stairs quite steep on the way down. But it wouldn't put us off going again. Lovely walks and beaches near by.
