Perfect spot on the River

The place is a great location for visiting Bend. close to great food, breweries and shopping. The back yard and the river are the perfect place to relax after long days in downtown. we did see some nice upgrades and some still too come. cant wait to see it next year.

Comfortable Property on the River

A fabulous location and a great weekend get away! Comfortable amenities. It is a shame you don't have a view of the river from the house. We wanted to kayak down the river but could not find a rental that didn't require us to portage it up to our spot.( Maybe next time). The fire ring was a nice addition.

Shoulders down on the riverfront

My husband and I had lovely time celebrating our wedding anniversary on the Riverfront! This beautiful property on the Riverfront is very clean, cosy, calming and warm. Our favorite time was lounging any time of day sipping tea, coffee or cocktails while sitting on the cosy outdoor furniture. It was so enjoyable to watch the river flow and leisure activities taking place on the river all non motorized of course (river floating, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming...). Activities are endless for the young and elderly.

Not bad, but some things to consider

While we enjoyed our visit to Bend, there was some good and some bad here. The house was clean and ready when we arrived. We liked being on the river. We purchased some tubes and each day would walk upstream about 15 minutes, then float back down to the yard, or down farther to Drake Park--you really can't beat that. Walking downtown or to the Old Mill District was as easy as advertised. Among the downsides: as you can see in the photos, the house is directly next to the bridge across the river to Columbia Park. I initially thought that was an upside, but it turns out that you can hear every foot crunch on the gravel path to the bridge, and the traffic is constant, day and night, especially on the weekend. That might not be a problem if the windows were closed, but the house doesn't have air conditioning. Maybe you don't expect that, but I did--we specifically discussed it when I booked, because of young kids who would have to nap during the hottest part of July. When we arrived it was 86 degrees *inside* the house. (To her credit, the day after we arrived and at my request, the manager installed a portable air conditioning unit that kept the temperature down into the mid/high 70s.) The bridge, as it turns out, is also a good place for some jerks to throw glass bottles into the yard. My sister-in-law and my 8-year-old stepped on broken glass. I spent about two hours picking up shards. Even if you avoid this hazard, you'll have to rake goose poop out of the grass daily. The front door apparently sits wrong in the frame, so the electric lock sometimes does not work. After being locked out for half an hour we eventually figured out that pulling the knob toward you before entering the code allowed the deadbolt to release without getting stuck. The appliances are all quite dated. I didn't care that much about this, but you might. There is no ice maker in the freezer, for example; you'll have to fill the two trays that were in there. There are a couple of couches in the living room, but no lights adjacent to them, so don't plan to sit and read. In the bathrooms there are no toilet paper holders, and no towel racks save the one on the shower door and one hand towel holder on the vanity, both in the master. The master bathroom also had a very weird light switch that nobody could consistently work properly. All in all we had a good time and the house was fine, but I'm not sure whether I'd book it again.

Adorable and walkable.

This property was within walking distance of so many downtown spots! From the key code entry to the property handbook, we felt like we had utter freedom to come and go as we pleased from the get-go. It was great having at least two dedicated parking spots in the driveway available to us. The fire pit offered a wonderful place to enjoy an evening of hot cocoa next to the setting sun over the trees and the river. Even though we stayed here October of 2019, it would be an ideal location to kayak or paddle board from in the river. That said, I had the opportunity to take advantage of the trails that run close to the house to go for a morning jog. The ice in the freezer was much appreciated, and the clean white towels were a relief to come home to after a day of walking around town.

Great Location

Stayed here for 5 days in September. Yes, this place has a great location due to being right on the Deschutes River but its also within walking distance to all kind is restaurants, breweries, bars, shops and the grocery store. Back yard is beautiful with a nice sitting area next o the river. We did not use it much as we were on the go with hiking and MTB activities. The place was clean and well appointed. Good communication with manager. I would consider renting the same place if back in Bend. Construction around the outside of the house was underway but was not active while we were there and was not intrusive.

Great location. Sometimes noisy. Would recommend

Loved the location. Within close proximity to the 3 rapids that you can tube down. Also very close to bike shops, cafes, and a 15 min walk to the grocery store (Market of Choice). Side of home is a part of a foot bridge path to cross the river, which sits behind the house's back yard so there is a fair amount of noise. Home has washer and dryer for wet clothes after tubing. Showers equipped with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Couldn't ask for better amenities. Would stay again.

Lacrosse weekend in Bend

Had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. The layout of the house a bit odd that it has no river view from inside the house - but this is made clear from the description on the VRBO site. It is a bit awkward to get to the backyard and enjoy the beautiful river, but very close to lovely walking paths and parks. Nice bedrooms and linens. Hostess very accommodating and helpful. Would stay here again.

Overall experience great!

The house is very clean and really cute. Newly remodeled master bathroom. Very comfy mattresses. The river is right off the back of the property and the walking trail over the bridge is right next to the house. There are privacy blinds which was nice because I'm not used to people walking so close to my house. The only real difficult thing was the TV. It was so complicated to use. And the booklet directions do not correlate with the remotes and demands. That is the only thing I ran into that caused any problems. I would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this house to others! Great location!

We loved being right on the river, as well as, the ability to walk downtown and to the Old Mill area. It was a hot weekend so we were able to take advantage of floating the river. We've been coming to Bend for years and hadn't done that before. It was so much fun and will now be a regular activity. It was my husband, our two adult children and their significant others. It's hard to please everyone, but it was unanimous that everyone loved this house and we'll be back! Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! The Property Manager, Deb, was very responsive and helpful too!

Excellent Backyard Space and River Access

Rented paddle boards and launched right out of the backyard! This and the bbq, and firepit were highlights of this location. Things that were mildly annoying were that there were not towel holders, or tp holders in the bathroom and the fence between the very busy pedestrian walkway and the backyard is chain link, so there is little to no privacy in the backyard. Close to parks and breweries, 15 min walk to downtown

Weekend Getaway

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend getaway in Bend Oregon. The house was in a great location to walk (10 - 15 minutes) to a lot of the desirable downtown locations, and not far at all for a trip to the mountain. The river is directly behind the house, which would make for a great summertime hangout spot. It was a little cold, so we didn't spend much time back there, but I would love to come back to this house in the summer. The house was very clean on arrival, with a lot of nice upgraded features. The layout of the house is great, I really liked how the kitchen, living room, and dining area were all open. The Kitchen does need a little updating, but aside from that the house was great. I would highly recommend this house for a 3 to 6 person group. We ended up only having five people, but the house was more than spacious enough to have 6. I look forward to coming back to this house on future Bend trips.

Great location on the Deschutes River and close to downtown

House was very comfortanle and had every thing we needed. The kitchen does need to be updated but was functionable. I would highly recommend that the owner install additional lighting in both the kitchen and living room. A little dark Overall, a good choice.

Great place, location and town

What a great spot to explore Bend. It is in the heart of Bend where you can access the river (your back yard), breweries/restaurants, and all the outdoor trails. It is a great spot for kids with a playground/park just across the walking bridge. If you have young toddlers I would be careful in the back yard as there is no fence to stop them from jumping in the river. We had our toddler and it was fine though. The house was a roomie 3 bedroom that had plenty of room for our family. It had everything you need to have a great stay. The owners are really nice and attentive people! We definitely plan on coming back!

River Front Fun

Response time to communication was quick. The house is clean and comfortable. It is equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is conveniently close - within walking distance - to restaurants and shopping. We went tubing on the Deschutes River, sat watching others tube down the river, and had a great time!

Half way between The Old Mill and The Old Downtown

We were the first renters at this location. This home is right on the river. We enjoyed river runs and lovely nights at this location. If you have young children, you would appreciate the playground right across from the river( use the walking bridge which is located right next to the house). With this convenience we experienced many runners and bikes passing by the house as we were trying to sleep at night and early in the morning. The owner of this property is eager to make any possible changes to make the guests feel welcome, so I admire for that. I will bring back my family again to experience changes.

A great location in Bend.

This house is in a great location for exploring Bend. We enjoyed sitting next to the river in the sun as well as the easy walk to several breweries and dowtown. The manager was easy to work with as well, especially great at responding to messages as soon as possible.

About the host

Bill was born and raised in the Northwest, while I moved to Oregon in my 20's. We no longer live in Bend “full-time” but try to spend as much time as possible there. Having raised and “launched” four wonderful young adults… but not ready to retire...Bill is a Captain in the Fire Department and I am a Realtor... we are now trying to figure out what our "new normal" is.

We love to travel, meet new people and enjoy just about everything outdoors...Kayaking, Rafting, Hiking, Biking, Scuba, Snow Sports and Golf has been added to the list.. but not perfected.

We found this home while walking to a Bend WinterFest (there are several "festivals" throughout the year). Located close to the Deschutes River, tucked between Downtown and the Old Mill District is the PERFECT LOCATION!

We are continuing to make improvements and looking forward to sharing our home with others, hoping that you too, will enjoy it and create wonderful memories of your own.

We welcome our guests with a complimentary bottle of wine and you will find coffee in the kitchen.

We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

Cheers~ Tami & Bill
