The large living room and dining room were perfect for our group of 7 friends. We were literally 2 minutes from the walking/biking trail. Beautiful deck and yard for hanging out as well. Plenty of sleeping spots. Only 2 bathrooms and one is part of master so need to be good about sharing if you have a larger group.
Home was perfect for our long weekend. Spacious and clean, perfect for our large group. Owners were very prompt to respond to any of our questions/requests.
Kevin welcomed us to the home, gave us instructions on how to access the snowmobile trail thru the back of the property. The home is very clean, comfortable and has all the amenities needed for your stay.
This property had everything we needed and was beautiful! It had plenty of space for us to spread out, had enough stuff for our whole party (plenty of plates/silverware/cups/chairs, which is sometimes an issue with houses that say they sleep this many), and had some extra stuff to help us feel welcome, like games and treats. Although it is farther from the beaches than we originally wanted, its proximity to Meijer and restaurants and some hiking was very convernient! The owners were very nice and the one issue we had they replied within a minute of our text and fixed it right away. The only thing that we didn't love was that one of the bathrooms was in a bedroom and it didn’t have a lock on the door (with little kids, the adults mostly stuck to the other bathroom so we could ensure privacy, since they don't always knock!), and the sliding door didnt keep the humidity out of the bedroom for showers. In all, it was a wonderful stay and we would love to come back again!

Fantastic time staying at the Heritage House! All of our guests were very happy.
The owners were very gracious in providing everything we could possibly need from dishes and towels to s'mores and firewood. Lots of room and a great room to hold gatherings. It was close enough to town to easily get to stores and restaurants. Would consider staying here again if we do another reunion. -Cody Fleming
We had a wonderful stay in Marquette, MI at Bonnie and Kevin's place on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. The house was beautiful and the proximity to both the trail and Marquette downtown was just what we were looking for. The s'mores fixings was a nice touch -- the chocolate was delicious even though we didn't take advantage of a campfire to make the s'mores... It was relaxing on the deck overlooking the beautiful backyard. And, thanks, Bonnie for the air conditioners in almost every room which gave us cool air and white noise to cover the Hwy 41 construction. We really enjoyed our visit!! Thanks!
We thought it was very near to excellent. In the listing it states sleeps 10 and in another place it lists 15. We know it sleeps at least 13. Location is excellent but neighborhood - We did not like the busy road. We did have 6 kids 10 and under. All in all it was very close to excellent.
We had a great stay! Bonnie was accommodating with the recent unprecedented NO SNOW in the whole UP, as we were coming up to ride. Beds were very comfortable. We would have loved a king bed, but we made it work. Bonnie and her husband do live underneath the rental, so we were constantly reminding our littles to "tip toe". The bi-level entrance would have been impossible for sledding and snow gear, as it is a tight squeeze to enter and exit, and no boots/shoes are allowed upstairs. The master shower is tiny, so think thin! We loved the big table and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. House is right on the trail, if you are there to sled or sxs. All in all, we would stay again... WITH SNOW! :) Thanks Bonnie!
Tastefully decorated, fits nicely with the UP. Kitchen is very well equipped. Many dishes. It would be nice to have just one empty cupboard in which to store non perishables that you bring along. We had to keep everything on top of the fridg or counter. Plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out. There were 7 of us and we never felt crowded. The garden is also beautiful. Would easily come again with my family. The owners do live on the lower level but I personally never saw them. My husband chatted with the owner one time and so did another member of our family on another occasion.
Easy access to trails. Trails are literally a stones throw from the property. Property was clean, spacious and well appointed. Communication with Bonnie and Kevin was outstanding and they were great to work with. Got a foot of snow while we were there and they kept everything plowed and shoveled working around our three vehicles and trailers. Plenty of room for trailer parking and turn around if necessary. Great hosts.
While not an issue for us, I'll note because it may matter to some. Kevin and Bonnie live in the lower level of the house. Again, zero issue and didn't impact our stay. There are doors to separate the spaces. With the exception of arrival, we did not hear or see Bonnie or Kevin. Point is, it's no issue at all, but I'm sure it will bother some.....
Bonnie and Kevin have a beautiful property, centrally located to all things in Marquette. Unfortunately we didn’t have the greatest experience while we were there. FYI Since it’s not listed in the property description; the owners do live on the lower level and do come into contact with you. We had small children in our party and as a parent not knowing this prior to booking made us uncomfortable. It would be nice to have that added to the property description for future renters. Additionally, when we checked out Bonnie sent a text to me stating they couldn’t find one singular blanket and texted: “Does someone from your group have it?” After offering suggestions of where it could be she sent a follow up text stating “l looked everywhere twice”. It was very disconcerting to be accused of stealing a blanket and when she did find it (it had slipped behind a lounge chair) no apology was offered. I really wish this experience would have been better for our family but that unfortunately was not the case.
Kevin and Bonnie Tillison, We both grew up and graduated from Marquette Senior high School UP Of Marquette Michigan. Kevin has retired this year after working 26 years in management and now he is enjoying fishing in the great lake of Superior and riding the Heritage trail out our back door. Bonnie is still working as a Esthetician of 30 years and enjoying family and grandkids. Also enjoying the walking and biking trail.
Why they chose this property
Our property has so much to offer being in the middle of everything that Marquette has to offer. Only minutes from so many exciting events that our area has to offer. You can jump on your bike right out the back door and ride right into downtown Marquette. Stop at the local farmers market, shop our historic downtown shops and restaurants. Maybe enjoy relaxing at Mattson Park where many of our festivals and events are held or continue on to ride along our scenic lake shore line and continue to ride around Presque Isle park. or pack a lunch and sit on one of our many beaches and picnic areas.
