Great place just outside of city
Booking through Vrbo was cheaper for me than on the hotel's website and everything went smoothly; the hotel is staffed by at least one person 24/7 and they were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel bikes are a bit clunky (seat came loose on me first time out) and you'll be biking ~30 min each way to get into city center - check out Sawpfiets which seemed to offer a monthly rental of electric bikes at the same price (80 euro) as most other places charge for four days (you must use their app to sign up though and can't just show up to the store). Using Bolt car shares worked as an alternative to public transport with two or more people but became higher priced during weekends/peak travel times. The restaurant a short walk down the road was great (try the sweet spare ribs) and having the store in hotel was handy. Renting and being able to easily park a car at the hotel was handy for traveling outside of Amsterdam but research where you can park at your destination and be prepared for gas prices! The laundry was small machines with separate washer & dryer so plan accordingly if you have to do laundry. The busses to/from airport require ~15 minutes of walking - better to just ride share it if you have luggage. Also need to walk to catch bus into city. This is a perfect location if you're staying awhile, want to save a few bucks, and don't mind biking but you may also want to consider staying in a nearby city like Haarlem with a train that takes you into Amsterdam Central.
