A beautiful, peaceful setting.

Our third visit over the years. A lovely peaceful place to stay. Easy access to Oban and surrounding places by car. Highly recommend a boat trip around the islands wildlife spotting. We used Seafari and it was excellent. Great bike rides from this base too. No exchanges available in the school holidays so this was a rental week.

Another perfect stay

This was our fourth stay at Melfort Village and, like the previous 3 visits, it was superb. Over the years we have exchanged into very many timeshare properties all round the world and this is, by some distance, the best of them all. The units are excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the area is beautiful.

Family Holiday

This was selected through the internet and booked on phoning Melfort . I was very happy with the information supplied and directions. We all enjoyed the holiday and the site the only thing would be the restaurant on site opening times are varied so you have to eat elsewhere. Would go back again as we all enjoyed the area and site.

Tranquil at its best

Our week in Stables West, Melfort Village was broken up a bit due to work demands but once again found this place a little oasis of peace and quiet. Weather was beautiful all week with some stunning sunsets on Loch Melfort. Having been to Melfort Village before, once again it did disappoint.

Time out

Had a very relaxing time at Melfort Village. Beautiful views, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, log burning stove and lovely staff. I especially liked the fact my dog was also welcomed. Towel, treats, toy, bowls and throws for him. What a great idea. Hope to return soon for another stay.

Lovely resort

From the moment we arrived we felt well received by all members of staff. They were very helpful. We particularly enjoyed the meeting with Olwen on Monday morning and felt that she excelled in her knowledge and love of the area which we were visiting. She was also very helpful in some other matters. It was never too much trouble for her to help. Annie the beautician was also very nice and helpful during the treatment received. The only thing we did not like, we are sorry to say, was the swimming pool. We felt it was a little antiquated and too small and too shallow. We are used to doing 25 metre lengths x 30 so it was a bit tame for us. We had planned to swim every day, but we went only once.

Great holiday

On our tour of the highlands this year, our family of four stayed a week at Melfort Village to explore the countryside around Oban. This was our favourite week, because of the incredibly beautiful environment, and because of the quality of Melfort Village. Clean, spacious, quiet, good facilities, and great location. We look forward to a return visit.

Our perfect country stay in Scotland

Our stay at Stables West at Melfort Village was better than we ever expected. The village itself was so rural and beautiful. We loved the fact we could take a walk right outside our house and see sheep grazing and such gorgeous hills. I highly recommend anyone who wants to see Scotland to come to Melfort.

Stables West - a great week

Wow! I actually think that we could happily, and comfortably, live here, it is a beautifully designed and maintained resort. The accommodation and fittings are lovely. The facilities, throughout the year, are excellent - the games rooms and grounds and leisure building. The team working there are friendly, welcoming and approachable, and they have good reason to be. A very well run resort, which another I know, could have learned much from - but it is now too late for them. Please keep this up, don't lose the enthusiasm and pride you have. I can heartily recommend the music night and the gin/whiskey tasting - thank you for a great week. Shame you couldn't have booked more snow for us ;)

Stables West Melfort

The property was lovely with a great kitchen and appliances. It was clean and more cleaning products were provided for use during your stay. The outside areas were great but it was raining during most of ur stay so we couldn't use them. There were two bags of logs and fire lighters in the cottage but if you used them you were charged on departure - something we were not aware of. The pool was lovely but only allowed twelve people in at once something that was very annoying when on a wet day you go to the pool to be turned away - we booked the property because of the pool giving us something to do on a rainy day with the children. Also for the price £1200 for the week to pay for electricity on top was a bit excessive.

The double bed mattress protective cover was badly stained.

We had another enjoyable week at Melfort and an excellent dinner at Melfort House. We also had dinner in the Shower of Herring Restaurant, which was very nice. The music evening on Monday is to be recommended.
