Very peaceful
We enjoyed our stay. The hut is very compact but has all you need and is very clean. We wanted a walking holiday so the location suited us well, with lots of beautiful walks within easy distance. The coast is about a 30 minute drive on quiet roads. Recommend The Dennington Queen and The Royal Oak in Laxfield for lovely food. The Low House in Laxfield is nice and very quirky but food isn’t good.

Perfect
We love the hut so much that we are going back. Plenty of peace, wonderful setting and host. We sat on the deck eating and had 2 awesome nights around the fire with wood collected from the woods! Amazing weekend

Perfect getaway
Everything you need is there, lovely restaurants near by, such a lovely cabin. We want to go back. It was very wet when we went so missed out having the camp fire. The cabin is small but cosy. Perfect little getaway to unwind. I purchased as a surprise for my partners birthday. It couldn't have been any more perfect. There was a welcome hamper when we arrived, eggs, bacon, milk, afew slices of bread, jam, butter, orange juice which was very lovely. We would definitely go back again. And already my sister and her partner is planning their stay

Shepherds Hut Retreat Break
This is an absolutely delightful Shepherds in the Woodlands, it has everything you need towels, bedding, soaps, shampoo etc, you just need your clothes that's all. There was a few extra items, milk, bacon, bread marmalade which was a lovely touch and very handy for the first night. Would definitely recommend to others, we stayed at the end of October so was a bit chilly, however didnt spoil our stay, would like to come back in the summer so we can sit outside on the decking.

Perfect hideaway
A great place for a quiet stay. Well placed for exploring Suffolk. Lovely setting in the woods but has all normal facilities including a fire pit and plentiful fuel.

Quirky property in beautiful countryside.
Very quirky property set in beautiful countryside. Quiet and peaceful location. Really enjoyed our stay in the very comfortable and well appointed accommodation. Enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas, not having visited this area before. Perfect romantic getaway, would definitely recommend.

Just right for us!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. The only thing we could fault was the weather and that was out of the owners hands. Everything else for us was excellent.

Quietly comfortable
Thank you for everything Alison, especially the wine instead of the animal products that I declined! You are very throughtful. A beautifully comfortable few days. Several enjoyable walks from the door, including to Brundish Church via the orchard, and around Foals Green.

Shepherd’s Hut
Fun place for a night and enjoyed it. Booked at very short notice and very grateful for Suffolk Hideaways for fixing it up for me so quickly and efficiently. Alison, the host, was friendly and helpful. Quite expensive for what it was but, as above, fun for a change.

Destress retreat
A perfect quirky find away from it all Breakfast which was included was amazing and a very thoughtful but the owner is an angel and thinks of all the little touches to even having a bundle of wood to burn on the fire-pit which I highly recommend utilising Dinner round the fire with a bottle of wine under the stars Aldeburgh is a short drive and the fish and chips by the seaside is a must

A quiet place to rest
We enjoyed our short break here. We woke up in the morning to birds singing (and nearby tractors, all part of the rural experience) One morning we also saw a deer! The hut is well equipped, small oven with hobs, and a shower too. The bed is very large! The hut is close to lovely places to visit, we went to Framlingham and Woodbridge and Walberswick. Overall a lovely place that we would be happy to book again.

Idyllic setting for a short stay
We had a very comfortable week here. The shepherds hut is cleverly furnished and well equipped. Good 'welcome pack', toiletries and cleaning materials means you can just arrive and everything you need is here. Great base for cycling the area and returning to a hot shower. We'll be back!

Shepherd's Hut
Whilst sitting on the porch of the shepherd's Hut with my coffee, I could easily envisage a couple more huts scattered throughout the cluster of trees we were in. It would be lovely to have a handful of friends join you especially as the rustic table and chairs cater for 4 but the hut offers space for 2, and the fire pit is a great idea, so a social getaway with a few friends would be enhanced if there were a few more huts It's quirky, well laid out and the porch is welcoming and social. The sounds of wildlife as well as farm life make you feel like you have escaped the city/town hustle and bustle. Even in winter when the trees are in slumber the beauty of this place cannot be dampened, I can only imagine that during the summer it is more idylic. Our host was such a lovely lady and she gave me a great big hug when we arrived and welcomed us onto her property. I am pleased I booked, I hope you reading this review will have à wonderful and relaxing stay too.... Ps...the only thing missing...a toaster!!

Such a wonderful escape!
We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay...such a peaceful setting to relax and unwind. The Woodland Retreat Shepherd's Hut is charming and pretty whilst offering modern comforts. The veranda provides a great seating area, when you are not snuggled round the fire pit or cosy inside. The bed was extremely comfortable and we really appreciated all of the extra touches such as the delicious welcome pack. We would definitely stay again. Thank you so much!

A romantic retreat!
The most relaxing place ever! Peaceful, comfortable, romantic... Truly wonderful. We'll definitely be back!!! Only 2 things would make this place even better; a slightly later check out time and fairy lights in the woods (that actually work). It's romantic but it could be magical.

A cosy little hideaway
The shepherd's hut was a clean, comfortable and cosy property, just right for 2 people. The welcome pack contained some tasty local items. It was lovely to be able to sit and eat outside on the decking and to have a campfire in the fire pit. We saw rabbits, deer and squirrels whilst eating breakfast. The bathroom was fine for us but might be a little small for people with larger frames. Overall a very enjoyable 2 night stay in a quiet location.

Lovely cosy hideaway
The shepherds hut was an idyllic building. It had everything you needed and was perfectly laid out. It could have done with a few more useful items such as oven gloves and rubber gloves. The location wasn't quite as rural as I'd hoped. It is in a woodland with lovely views, but you can see the main house and occasionally hear cars from the road. However it was a delightful stay and lovely holiday.

A lovely peaceful break
This is a lovely shepherds hut with everything you need in it. The fire pit in the evening was so nice although did need to provide our own logs etc A short walk from the house but felt like you were in the middle of nowhere! Would definitely recommend

Lovely retreat
I stayed on my own and unfortunately it rained almost the whole time. Sadly this limited my outdoor activities like campfire and cooking outdoors. It also meant I had to have the lights on most of the time. Nevertheless I had a lovely retreat in peaceful surroundings which is what I came for. Alison the owner was very helpful without being intrusive.
