Peak Challenge
Great place to stay before and after our completion of the Peak District event. Enough facilities for three adults. Cooked one evening and ate out for one. Would highly recommend. Close enough to Bakewell stores and amenities.

Fab cottage!
A really cosy home with everything we needed. Peaceful, yet close to the bustle of Bakewell and all it offers.

May Cottage is a charming little cottage situated on on of the main roads going into Bakewell, due to this there is no designated parking and this may be a problem for some people especially with young children, however we managed to find a space each day although in different places . The cottage has a lovely back and front garden which in summer time would be ideal to sit out in and relax with a BBQ, the garden is secure for young children with a gate . The inside of the cottage is quite spacious with a sun room to the side very useful for our children to play games whilst we enjoyed the warmth of the log burner in the living room ! The only negatives I can say is the master bed is a little small I am 5 foot 4 and my feet did touch the end of the rail, so for taller people this may not be the cottage for you other than that we had an enjoyable week staying there ! May Cottage is a great base to explore the wonders of Bakewell and the glorious surrounding areas. A very cosy cottage that offered some lovely characterful features most notably the fireplace in the hallway.

May Cottage is much bigger than I imagined and every room is cosy and quaint with furnishings that have been chosen with thought and love. There is a little sun room to contemplate from. Excellent value for money as this was not in my opinion an expensive cottage to rent. The location is also a plus. Easy walking distance (5 minutes) into Bakewell which has some lovely shops and a good farmers market on the last Saturday of each month. As previous reviews said, there is no off road parking or parking directly in front of the cottage, but we were able to unload our bags and park on the opposite side of the road either 30 yards up the road or 80-100 yards down the road and left our car there all weekend as we walked everywhere. We had a lovely long walk and every interaction with local people was friendly. The only improvement I'd ask is that the hot water wasn't hot enough for a really steaming hot bath, but I topped it up with half a kettle. I'm sure this could be rectified easily. Thank you to the owners and for the detailed instructions on how to find the cottage. Very friendly and amenable.
