We had a snatched between lockdown break.

We had a snatched between lockdown break. The cottage was so immaculate- new fog cleaning had also been used. sally welcomed us and everything had been thought of. Wonderful cream tea for us and homemade baked biscuits for the kids. Even foxy the dog had a treat  The village is beautiful, great walks and exploring so pretty. The village pub was a super treat, yummy food and only 200meters from the front door. Phone signal is non existent (not a bad thing !) WiFi is better than what we have in Cambridge ! Plymouth is close and we loved Dartmoor Zoo. So warm and cosy, the children are keen to come back next week !! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Absolutely stunning location.

Absolutely stunning location. Own parking space which is a bonus in Devon! Cottage is beautiful and the cleanliness outstanding. Host was friendly with a very warm welcome. Shame theres no back garden (house backs onto a cliff), but, that really can't be helped. Pub is 200 yards away, handy! Again, absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend The Bolthole to stay in. Hopefully, will be returning next year.

A lovely part of the world: we enjoyed some great walks in Dartmoor, visited Buckland Abbey which is literally right outside the village of Milton Combe, and had a day at the coast at Wembury which is just 40 minutes' drive away. The village itself is very peaceful and set in a deep valley so you really feel like you've got away from it all. The local pub ('Who'd Have Thought It') served stunning food - we went there three nights in a row. Because the village is so small, there isn't a shop in it, but you don't have to drive very far to find one. The cottage was nice and cosy, especially once we had lit the wood fire. Both bedrooms and the bathroom were fine. We didn't cook at all so can't really say much about the kitchen, though the toaster could do with being replaced. Dishwasher and washing machine both worked OK. In a perfect world there would be a garden out the back that the dog could be let into, but that is impossible given the location - the slope behind the row of cottages is almost vertical. Not a major issue, though, as it is easy to walk the dog around the village and there is almost no traffic to worry about.
