This superbly converted detached barn is situated on an arable farm just outside Wisbech, with views over open fields on 3 sides. Providing holiday accommodation for 4 people it is ideal for those looking for a relaxing break or an ideal base from which to explore this area. The medieval town of Kings Lynn is just 17 miles away with Downham Market only 16 miles. For those wishing to explore on foot or by bike there are many good walks and cycle routes throughout the area and Tydd St Giles 18 hole Golf Course is only 7 miles away with fishing also nearby. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Excellent overall, but we wish the property had had air- conditioning in all rooms because, we were there in an admitted heatwave, but had to have windows, doors open which meant we were Central station for moths, flies and more moths! Also, the accommodation was beautifully clean, but we still got hordes of beetles, wood lice and, worst of all, big spiders, including twice finding one in our bed! I know this is partly because the property backs onto fields, but wonder if owners know of any ‘ barrier’ they can install? I heard there may be acoustic plug- ins available as a deterrent. Otherwise, mention in ads, to deter arachnophobia like ourselves. No doubt Chris has seen bigger and deadlier in Oz.Anyhow, they didn’t stop our overall enjoyment.Helpful, friendly owners! Would go again, subject to above!

Brilliant holiday in Barn Owl Hovel (cottage)! Well equipped and exceptionally clean. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Lots of things to do around the local area (within an hour/hour and a half drive) and the cottage was perfect for relaxing with the family after a day of activity. Outside space delightful too. 5 stars (and more!). Would love to return someday!

What a find! With lovely views across farmland, the location of this cottage offers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle, whilst still being only a 5 minute drive to town. . The cottage itself is immaculate with a very well equipped kitchen and nice big lounge/dining room. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and provided a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated after a horrible journey! Would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore a beautiful part of the country.

The cosy cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday.
The cosy cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday. Had a very relaxing holiday, the owner was very friendly and Sunday lunch in the Rising Sun is well it. Although there are no shops in walking distance, 5 minutes in the car and there is a Morrisons, Tesco, asda. Would definitely recommend the cottage and would definitely return.
