Only 4 miles from the historic city of Stirling, yet hidden away in a truly magnificent and peaceful rural scenery means a perfect location for year-round holidays. Osprey Hideaways overlooks the owners’ own 120-acre loch where ospreys can be seen feeding most days in season. 300ft high cliffs frame the far side of the water, making the views genuinely stunning. All the cottages are furnished to a very high boutique standard and provide excellent accommodation for couples or family groups. A welcome pack is provided including a bottle of bubbly so that you can relax as soon as you arrive. There is also lovely linen, towels, bathrobes - and even slippers! To top this off is the honesty room where you can borrow books, a huge selection of DVDs, games, toys and visitor information. The owners live on site and are there to help as much (or as little!) as you want.

Each cottage has been named after birds that are regularly seen flying overhead, and are perfectly located to enjoy the best of both worlds at any time of the year - the peace of the countryside and the amenities and activities of the city. As well as being only 4 miles from Stirling city centre, it’s only 5 miles to the motorway junction for surprisingly quick journey times to Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow and all their facilities. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is 20 miles away and the mountains to the north or the beautiful sea lochs to the west are all within a 2 hour drive. There are numerous golf courses locally and even the Gleneagles course is only 35 minutes’ away. For walks the choice is endless and one of the best cliff-top walks in central Scotland starts right at the cottages! Stirling is a vibrant but compact university city offering wonderful attractions, including an incredible castle, the amazing Wallace Monument, the historic Church of the Holy Rude and even ghost tours. There are restaurants to suit all tastes, swimming pools, sport centres, multiplex cinema, theatre, museum, pubs and shops. The best bit is that Stirling is very much a year round destination. The perfect place for the perfect holiday! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is very well equipped with everything you could need. The welcome pack is a lovely touch. It is well placed for a peaceful retreat but not far to the main roads so access all areas. There are some beautiful walks and we would highly recommend the walk around the loch(although we didn’t make it all the way round so we will be going back for a return trip) We would highly recommend a stay here. Lovely cottage with fantastic views over the Loch - well North Third Reservoir to be exact but no less beautiful for that.Perfect base for exploring Stirling,Loch Lomond and the Trossacks,Edinburgh,Bannockburn and Glasgow. Best bits of the holiday - -the walk around the reservoir and up Lewis Hill Crags with beautiful views overlooking Osprey Hideaways and further afield The Three Lochs Forest Drive in The Trossacks. We enjoyed a fantastic week at Osprey Cottage and hope to return in the future.

We enjoyed a fantastic week at Osprey Cottage and hope to return in the future. So much to do nearby and set in such a scenic peaceful location we actually spent 2 days relaxing around the cottage, Loch and surrounding forest rather than go out. This is unheard of for us. The cottage was well equipped, we didn’t find anything we needed missing. It was very clean and well maintained. The owner provides a information room with details of lots of activities, how to get to the cities etc plus on arrival there is a fantastic welcome pack that would get you through your first night in comfort should you not make it to a supermarket on your way.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings. Easy to get to cities such as Glasgow or Edinburgh and just as easy to get away from it all into the Trossachs or the Highlands. Or just relax in the surrounding area and take a walk around the private Loch behind the cottage. The hosts are helpful and friendly but not intrusive. You feel very welcome there with all the comforts of home.
