Half term break at the Wee Byre.
Half term break at the Wee Byre. We were fortunate with the weather and enjoyed lots of walks in the area. Mountain biking trails all good and well signposted and maintained. Due to restrictions very few cafes etc open but we made use of the local farm shop to enjoy some home cooked meals. Pool table and tennis court a big hit with our kids. A different holiday for us but one which we all enjoyed. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An absolutely beautiful cottage! Clean, tidy, well equipped and in a lovely setting.
An absolutely beautiful cottage! Clean, tidy, well equipped and in a lovely setting. The fully enclosed garden was great for our dog. The owners were really nice. They are on hand nearby if you need them, but they leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. We had a problem with one of the smoke alarms continually beeping, and it was sorted within 10 minutes of us mentioning it. The only suggestion I would make, and it is a VERY small thing, is maybe make the towels provided a little bigger!! All in all, a wonderfully relaxing week in a cottage I would highly recommend. We will hopefully go back sometime, but in the summer, as I think it would be an absolutely amazing place in the sun!!

Really good holiday cottage it had everything we needed. It was very welcoming and homely. Very clean, tidy and well maintained. The added bonus of a tennis court and pool room made it very appealing. The garden was spacious, safe and secure for our dogs. It was lovely and peaceful just what you need for a relaxing break.

We stayed at the Wee Byre during the first week May 2019 and took our two Labradors with us. The cottage was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean. There was everything you need to start off with...soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloths etc and even tea bags, milk and biscuits!!! The cottage has two bathrooms which was really useful. The cottage is bigger than it looks in the photos and has a good sized enclosed garden which is very dog friendly. The kitchen is lovely and we really enjoyed sitting at the large table and looking out at the uninterrupted views. The owners are lovely people too. We're going back again next year ?

Great cottage and very secure for the dogs, which means there's no worries about letting them roam on their own. We ate in most of the time and the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed. Games room ideal as we could use that whilst baby was sleeping to keep noise down. Would have been nice to have some hanging space or even hooks in the twin bedroom as this was used by adults but a minor detail. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. Owners on hand if needed but not intrusive.

This Cottage is wonderful.
This Cottage is wonderful. Beautiful beamed ceilings and a modern Kitchen. Wood burner in the lounge. Games room and Tennis court. Everything you would want from a holiday Cottage in Scotland. Such a lovely countryside setting, you wouldn't believe that it is only a 10 minute drive into Dumfries, where you can find all the Supermarkets, takeaways and Restaurants, if you don't want to bother cooking. If the weather had been better we would have used the BBQ, and made more use of the lovely garden. Our teenagers and our little Border Terrier were all happy too, in fact the only complaint any of us had was too much rain. Apparently the week before had been a scorcher! oh well.

Our third visit to the Wee Byre.
Our third visit to the Wee Byre. We love the peace and quiet, the space and most of all dog friendly accommodation with a secure garden that 2 border terriers couldn't escape from. It has everything you need, very well equipped and great for entertaining friends/family - especially with the use of the tennis court and a BBQ. Only a 5 minute drive to a local farm shop and 10 minutes to Dumfries. Lots of local attractions to visit locally. Looking forward to going back already!

A fantastic cottage to get away from the hustle of modern life , the cottage has everything you could need and as located just far enough away from town to be peaceful and close enough to not be in the middle of nowhere. We wish we could have stayed longer or took this cottage home with us , we definitely intend to come back again
