Ideal holiday base for walkers and nature lovers. Converted from former farm buildings, these cosy holiday cottages (ref 28343, ref 28344 and ref 29155) are situated within the North York Moors National Park and opposite Harwood Dale Forest. Adjoining the owners’ home and surrounded by countryside with grazing cattle and roaming hens, they lie just 2 miles from the coast, and make ideal bases for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers and for exploring the numerous local attractions. The quaint fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay, with its hidden cobbled streets and smuggling history, is just a 5-mile drive and the historic port of Whitby, 11 miles, is renowned for its ancient abbey and connections with Captain James Cook and Count Dracula, not forgetting its famous fish and chips! The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough, 10 miles, offers miles of sandy beaches, fishing and speedboat trips, the Rotunda Museum, Stephen Joseph Theatre and musical concerts at The Spa and in Peasholme Park. Pony trekking and golf available close by and cycle hire in Dalby Forest. Beach 2 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

My wife, our dog and I where made very welcome by the owners and the welcome basket they left went down a treat. Diary cottage was just what we were after. Right inbetweeners Scarborough and Whitby, it was a great base for getting about. We would stay again.
