Hollies Cottage provided a wonderful rest bite and was warm and cosy.

Hollies Cottage provided a wonderful rest bite and was warm and cosy. It is ideally situated to explore Somerset, as well as further afield (Wiltshire, Dorset, Bath, Bristol). Equally we enjoyed walks (and pubs) from straight out the door. We really enjoyed our stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A late booking for a short stay.

A late booking for a short stay. Everything was ready when we arrived and we were greeted personally by the host, who lives next door. A wonderful, characterful cottage with very comfy bed and lounge furniture. It was well equipped for a short stay and the log burner was really effective at making everything nice and cosy. Great location with many walks and places to visit nearby, and good local bus service so we didnt have to use the car. Draycott has a community shop, farm shops a pub and a fab cider barn, all within a 5 minute walk of the cottage. We would certainly return and would recommend to other couples looking for a break. The Hollies was a great location to explore Somerset.

The Hollies was a great location to explore Somerset. Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and Well's are only 10 to 15 minutes away. Stonehenge only one hour away, with Salisbury 15 minutes further. Thankfully we had the weather, which enabled us to enjoy the sites and sounds of these lovely settings. The cottage is very cosy, with a log burner, plus set within an extremely quiet location. Emma and Jeremy were very welcoming and advised on a local walk. However, for those more used to walking, we showed our urban background, and instead of 1 hour. walk, 3 hours later we returned. Despite, the length of time, the walk was worth it, due to the scenery and views! Overall, we enjoyed our stay, location and the availability of the countryside on the doorstep! We had a lovely and much needed mini break and found the cottage to be the perfect bolthole for us.

We had a lovely and much needed mini break and found the cottage to be the perfect bolthole for us. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. The cottage is very cosy, clean, comfortable with good amenities. It's handily situated in a quiet part of the village, a short walk to the very welcoming Cider Barn :-). We enjoyed walking in the mendip hills and exploring the Gorge, which is incredible if you have never been. Wells and Glastonbury were worth a visit, but we ran out of time and beat a hasty retreat to the pub! Plenty of local shops, inc fresh local strawberries from the roadside fruit and veg shops. A small but well stocked community shop in the village as well as large supermarket a mile away in Cheddar. Only wished we had longer to explore the area more, so hope to come back again soon Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
