Great garden and in the middle of nowhere! Brilliant Pub a mile down the road for great beer and food. House was compact and had everything needed except a working tin opener. Internet OK (very good for ireby) and beds comfy. Do watch the low back door. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The Old Stables was a delightful find in the far north of Cumbria.
The Old Stables was a delightful find in the far north of Cumbria. Nestling behind Skiddaw it was a peaceful spot, warm , comfortable with red squirrels and beautiful birds entertaining in the garden. Our reason for booking was to both walk in the northern fells, a delight and to play golf at Silloth on Solway. The latter is a must for golfers, a hidden gem. The local pub in Ireby, the Black Lion , could not have been more authentic or welcoming, the Wednesday Quiz and burger night a vital thriving affair. It says it all ..........we shall return.

Lovely place to stay.
Lovely place to stay. We had 4 adults and a dog. Huge gardens and grounds fantastic for the hound! A little dark inside but that's just the nature of the building. Lovely and warm. Great location if you want to be away from the crowds. Pub in local village (Emily's Black Lion) is 20mins walk away along quiet lanes and is very friendly and reasonably priced. We had a great stay. Thank you.
