Great location for exploring the Lake District with easy access to amenities in town.

Very comfortable accommodations with lots of room to spread out. Loved the shower and very large bath towels.

The cottage is lovely, so homely, just a shame the cooker shelves have still not been changed and are dangerous as they dont fit and fell down, the kitchen tops had crumbs, couple of dirty pan/mug and parts needed vaccing, after being informed that check in was delayed and check out earlier to allow for covid cleaning! ..however its just a shame that these issues havnt been addressed, as its spoiling what is such a lovely place, and would definately recommend for every other aspect! We really enjoyed a short break at The Old Woodyard and would definitely visit again. There are 2 things that would have made the stay slightly better: Please have 2 front door keys available to guests. We were staying with teenage children who wanted to do different things and having just 1 key made this more difficult. Please look at the racks in the oven - they dont fit and fall off which made it awkward with some cooking elements. Everything else was excellent. This has been a real home from home for us for a few years now. We never stay anywhere else when in the Lakes visiting family. Lovely and clean, and felt very covid safe, thank you. Look forward to hopefully returning again early next year. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very comfortable accommodation which was generally well equipped, however only 1 toilet roll and 2 dishwasher tablets were provided for the week, there was no handwash (although plenty of sanitiser) and it was necessary to wash a few items of crockery/utensils before use (not simply as a precaution, they were dirty). We have stayed in many cottages over the last 10+ years where these items have always been supplied therefore given that this was the most expensive of all I was particularly disappointed. Overall though we had an enjoyable stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Wonderful place, with plenty of space for the 4 of us.

Wonderful place, with plenty of space for the 4 of us. Place was very well cleaned before we arrived and was laid out very nicely. Lots of useful amenities (washer / dryer, dishwasher, Chromecast etc). Very spacious for 4 adults. Lovely location with local walks and easy access to the main shopping areas and restaurants of Kendal. Great base from which to explore the Lake District. Drive times to Windermere, Ambleside etc depends on traffic but generally 30-45 mins. Nice high ceilings upstairs (the main living area and kitchen / dining). Highly recommended! Had a really nice holiday.

Had a really nice holiday. Just be careful if walking down into town, the hill up nearly finished us haha! Nice, clean and spacious place and nice and warm. Only thing that was missing was the personal touch of a welcome package. It’s a good job we brought our own milk, tea and coffee with us!

Stayed at the Old Woodyard for 5 nights, were really pleased with the standard of the accommodation and didn’t feel the photos on the website fully did it justice. We had everything we needed and it felt very much like home, were we were able to relax and use it as a base for exploring the Lake District

The cottage is lovely and well equipped but we’ve stayed in much cleaner properties.

The cottage is lovely and well equipped but we’ve stayed in much cleaner properties. It is disappointing that they choose to charge for baby equipment when it is readily available in the cottage. We chose to take our own rather than pay to hire. The central heating was unpredictable and the heating was needed for the main bedroom to help eradicate the smell of damp.when we arrived the outside bins were overflowing with waste which left us with the problem of discarding of waste from inside the property.we also found the lack of sound proofing when walking around upstairs caused an awful banging noise with the joists moving which disturbed our children in bed at night. On one of the days the gardener must have been in when we were out and upon our return the property smelled strongly of petrol which resulted in us having to open all the windows and doors for 24 hrs to eradicate the smell. The main positive is the cottage is in a great location and only a short 5min walk into town.

Second time we have stayed here and it was as enjoyable as the first. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the living room and kitchen/dining room is really spacious for four people. A short 5/ 10 minute walk brings you into kendal town centre with lots of chose for eating and drink. It's a great base to explore the rest of the lakes with lots of other nice places within an hour's drive, overall had a great weeks stay

Lovely cottage and is finished to a high standard. WiFi not terribly good and we couldn’t get the radiators to come on, so seemed a little dampish (although it was raining - a lot!) Kendal is a lovely place with some very friendly pubs.

A real gem. Was perfect for our 4 night stay with friends. Had everything you could possibly need and was clean and tidy. We loved all the tasteful ornaments and quality furniture. A short walk into the town with nice pubs and restaurants and a drive away from the lakes. Loved our stay. Thank you.

We found The Old Woodyard to be a very nice, stylish, spacious, well equipped property in a pretty part of Kendal. The pictures shown don't really do the property justice, it's even nicer than it looks. It's also quiet, has a pleasant outlook and is close to a good family friendly pub, with further cafes, bars, and shops all within walking distance in the town centre - we thought Kendal was very nice and had a lot to offer. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return again.

I chose a bad week, with consistently bad weather. But this was a comfortable and stylish retreat from the rain. Well equipped and spacious, the Old Woodyard has a modern rather than “cottagey” feel. I would recommend it.

The Old Woodward is our favourite place to stay whenever we visit Kendal.

The Old Woodward is our favourite place to stay whenever we visit Kendal. Our first choice. It's very attractively designed with tasteful furnishings and decor and provides a very comfortable stay. We tend to visit Kendal fairly frequently to spend time with our daughter and two grandchildren. If we are able to book The Old Woodyard it lifts my spirits. I find it a creative and delightful venue. I hope we are able to stay there again soon - and thank you to the owners.
