Highly Recommended

Absolute gem. Very spacious bungalow, plenty of pans, utensils and crockery, a lot glassware not matching and a mish-mash of living room furniture but this made it very quirky, which we loved! Ideal for families with young children too as there is a toy box in the living room and lovely enclosed gardens. The washing machine was a Godsend and when we experienced a problem with the fridge freezer, the Manager, Sally and the owners were so helpful, they could not have done more. Highly recommend finding the tiny cove close to the lighthouse but definitely not for those who struggle on their feet as it's one heck of a climb down and far worse coming up but so worth it because it's an absolute beauty. So many beautiful beaches to visit, spoiled for choice but always go back to Porthcurno as it's our favourite place in the world. On not so nice days it's worth driving to St Erth and taking the train to St Ives, a beautiful coastal ride with plenty of shops at the other end in which to seek shelter and buy gifts. Highly recommend the accommodation as a base if you want to explore this part of Cornwall further.

We ( 2 couples) enjoied our two week stay very much.

We ( 2 couples) enjoied our two week stay very much. Although it was a pity that some things were not renewed, like the rack for the wet laundry and the fryer pans. You couldn’t bake an egg in either of the pans. We had a small leak in the toilet and the outside lamp at the frontdoor was out of order. We had to experience our selves that the garbaige container had to be at the road on monday morning. It would have been better as we had recieved some pictures of the road to the cottage. You cannot see it from the road, so a more accurate navigation with some pictures would helped us finding it quicker. It is a quiet surrounding, close to the Atlantic ocean very nice for walkings. The nights were quiet, so very good to sleep. We might go again next year!

Our third stay in four years at Tor Barn.

Our third stay in four years at Tor Barn. Suffice to say, we really like it. Still essentially the same as what I've written in previous years. It's a value for money cottage in what is absolutely prime location in Penwith. It is very "cottagey". It is not the lux experience that some people expect from their cottages these days, but it is well enough equipped and very comfortable overall. Charming gardens around the cottage as well.
