The railway carriage was perfect, just as I had imagined it, with attention to detail.
The railway carriage was perfect, just as I had imagined it, with attention to detail. Authentic but also nice and warm! Set in well-kept, flowery gardens, with a spacious lawn. And what a bonus to be able to book the warm, indoor pool and sauna for an hour at a time and have it all to ourselves! Communication was also excellent throughout. Highly recommended. We had a lovely week staying in Railway Carriage One.
We had a lovely week staying in Railway Carriage One. Really enjoyed using the pool and hot tub, both of which were a lovely temperature. Lots of wildlife around the carriages. We saw a deer one morning and could hear pheasants and even heard barn owls at night. Really enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay and our son said he wanted to stay there forever.
We loved our stay and our son said he wanted to stay there forever. It’s a lovely little complex with enough space between each carriage for privacy. The gardens and lawns are lovely and well looked after. The carriage was spotless when we arrived. It’s such a nice conversion - very well done. We liked the ability to book the pool/hot tub/sauna for ourselves (an hour at a time). As per other reviews, the homemade welcome cake was delicious!

Small interior for sleeping but enough room for a long weekend.
Small interior for sleeping but enough room for a long weekend. Be advised that the bunk beds are short and narrow. Our 8 year old woke herself up a few times by rolling over and banging her head against the wall. I wouldn't want to sleep an older child in the bunks. The double bed is also surrounded on 3 sides by walls so one person has to climb over the other to get out of bed. We only swam once as the pool was very tired and had a lot of grass and plant matter in it due to people having to walk over the grass to get inside and nowhere to wash before entering pool. It is in a greenhouse so cold and draughty for us in May but in the summer heat I'm sure it's a different story. Only provided with 2 large towels for the 4 of us. We made do and to be honest there would be nowhere to dry 4 large towels. I would go again but to a larger carriage and not because it has a pool.

The Railway cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful rural area on a little green meadow.
The Railway cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful rural area on a little green meadow. There's a small street close by but it's quiet at night. The car can be parked close to the carriage. The carriage was spotless clean. Upon arrival there were a delicious cake, coffee, teabags and milk for us. We got a very warm and friendly welcome by the manager who explained everything to us and even returned the next morning to show us the pool and jacuzzi. A folder full of information left no question unanswered. There were books and games. The Raiklway museum is close by. There's plenty to do in the area. Unfortunately the tv was very small and the angle was not well adjusted so some programmes appeared very dark. It was quite cold so when we returned in the evenings it took a while until the radiator had warmed up the carriage.

We enjoyed our time at Brockford Railway Sidings and the surrounding area is nice.
We enjoyed our time at Brockford Railway Sidings and the surrounding area is nice. However, the carriage was quite cramped. In particular the children’s beds are very small, there is no hanging space and the TV is tiny. Still it’s a quiet and pretty location. You do need to travel a bit though as amenities are limited.
