A beautifully presented home with special attention given to COVID safety.
A beautifully presented home with special attention given to COVID safety. The view is super and changes with the light. Walking into Richmond is only 10mins and is good exercise up and down the various gradients. The garden (up steep steps) is also well maintained and would be great for evening BBQs in the warmer summer months together with the heated summer house. Nothing was too much trouble for Alan, the owner, who could not have been more helpful. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Castle View was an excellent choice for our break in Richmond.
Castle View was an excellent choice for our break in Richmond. It was perfectly located for Richmond Town centre and local walking. The facilities were exceptional and our group of six had no problems with any of the bedrooms, bathrooms and household amenities. The garden was wonderful to sit in with a glass of sparkly and the amazing views were a bonus. Would highly recommend this villa to any one looking for a wonderful holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. Richmond - door to the Dales & Moors.
The property was perfect in every way, from its geographical position and views, to its layout, decor, fixtures & fittings, lovely terraced garden, and all those little added extras which turn a house into a welcoming home.

We had a lovely week at Castle View.
We had a lovely week at Castle View. It was clear that the team had gone to great pains to make the house safe with lots of anti-bac, quarantine of items used and a deep clean between visitors. The house itself is lovely with fabulous views of Richmond Castle. Richmond is a delightful town with river, waterfalls, marketplace, castle, ruined abbey all close at hand. Lots of lovely walks and cycles if you don't mind the hills. It is just on the edge of the Dales so easy days trips to beauty spots and historic villages. There are three ensuite bedrooms of which two are of a generous size and the third is perfectly fine but less big. Kitchen is well equipped and the terraced garden has a summer house and BBQ. Great views from the top of the garden and also a more sheltered spot for eating when it is windy. Communication from Alan, the owner, was excellent. He was on hand to answer any questions and to welcome us (socially distanced) when we arrived. You are in very good hands here. I hope we will return. We loved it at Castle View.
We loved it at Castle View. The view itself was exceptional. The house had everything you could wish for, and it was the cleanest holiday home we have stayed in. No negatives at all, we would love to return. Alan was very friendly and we knew it would be easy to contact him if there were any problems, but there were none at all. A wonderful break in beautiful Richmond

Castle View is ideally placed not just for the magnificent view accorded from the living room window, but for the short walking distance to the historical town of Richmond, packed with interesting artisan shops, pubs, with a choice selection of eating places. Whilst a visit to Richmond is recommended, a stay in Castle View is a must,as it one of the most finest self catering houses we have visited so far, together with the friendly owner Alan who could not have been more obliging, making our visit to Richmond a most memorable stay, one to be repeated.

We had a great holiday in Yorkshire over the August bank holiday.
We had a great holiday in Yorkshire over the August bank holiday. Castle View is on a very steep hill and the drive is very steep too. The views from the picture window in the lounge were superb. Very fortunate with the weather had sunny days and could see for miles! The house is on 2 levels and the kitchen well equipt. The heating was fantastic for the chilly nights and 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers in the utility room downstairs were brilliant. The garden is up some steep steps, on a gradient and small which was impossible to play ball games on for a 4 year old! The views and the horses in the field next door, were lovely. The pub just up the hill, The Holly Inn I think it was called was excellent and we got a 10% discount as we were staying at Castle View. Lots of places to visit, Reeth County Show, Wensleydale, Fountains Abbey and the highlight for our grand daughter was playing in the river along with the other children on the very hot days! The house, in our opinion, is not for younger children because of the garden.

Excellent venue in Richmond, so much to see in the town within walking distance. Castle View is a perfect location with a fantastic view of the Castle from the lounge window. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The food and friendly staff at the Holly Inn just 3 minutes walk up the hill is well worth a visit.

Richmond area.
Richmond area. Wonderful walking country for those who prefer not to walk the hills. Excellent cinema complex plus gallery, plus cafe at the old converted train station. lovely town centre with interesting independent shops. Plenty of cafes to sample. The cottage we stayed in was excellent with just a couple of things that we mentioned to the owner who is going to sort them. Well positioned but not sure I would like to be there if it was icy or snow bound, as halfway up a hill. Would certainly recommend.
