Horse riding can also be found nearby.

The 3 miles of sandy beaches lead to the pretty coastal village of Sandsend. Robin Hood’s Bay (renowned as a bygone smugglers’ haunt), Runswick Bay and Staithes are all worth a visit. Inland, the moors are scattered with villages, many with excellent inns. Goathland itself offers an excellent choice of inns and restaurants, in addition to local shops, post office and cafés. Scarborough 23 miles. York 38 miles. Beach 9 miles. Pub and restaurant 200 yards away.

This is a huge house with great views over the moors from the big kitchen window.
This is a huge house with great views over the moors from the big kitchen window. The well equipped kitchen had a breakfast table to seat 10 - 12. Lots and lots of mugs, plates, glasses and the biggest selection of sauce boats we've ever seen. A bit short on serving dishes for 12 people. We found the fridge took a few days to get down to a chilled temperature. We did have a lot to put in it though as we were catering over Christmas. The left hand oven didn't get to temperature but it was okay to heat up a lasagne, it just took a bit longer. The right hand fan oven worked fine. There was another big dining table in the dining room which we used for Christmas dinner. The wood burning stove in the dining room didn't work but the coal fire in one of the sitting rooms was very cosy. The house was a bit chilly when we arrived but it warmed up in a couple of hours. The people who stayed in the bedroom immediately above the utility room where the boiler was found the boiler a bit noisy. The huge games room kept the boys entertained. There were also lots of DVDs and a smart tv with Netflix. We stayed in the twin room and there was a lack of sockets for hairdryers/straighteners near the mirror. I used one of the sockets behind the bed but only one of the double sockets worked so had to unplug the bedside light. In fact there was an overall lack of sockets but handy extension cables had placed around the house. There were two sitting rooms plus seating in the orangery/conservatory. We liked having multiple sitting rooms so we could have our own space. There wasn't a room where all 9 of us could be together. I believe the house is undergoing a programme of refurbishment which it will certainly benefit from as it is a bit tired and in need of upgrading. Good walks on to the moors on the doorstep. The Mallyan Spout hotel was just a few minutes walk away and Goathland station on the NYM railway was a short car drive away. Would recommend the house for family breaks. There was plenty of parking for 5 cars. It will be great when the hot tub is available for guests to use.

We spent a wonderful week at Eversfield.
We spent a wonderful week at Eversfield. It was lovely for us as a family group to be able to cook, work and eat together in the big kitchen with the stunning views across the valleys. Plenty for us all to do with games and a super garden to play in as the weather wasn't particularly good. A lovely lived in family home. We have recommended it to several of our friends.

Absolutely loved this weekend! Surprise weekend away for my mums 40th birthday couldn't of asked for anything better ! Beautiful location and views, stunning house and easy to find! The only down side was when we arrived they were 3 dead baby birds on the patio near the games room which caused alot of flies which wasnt too nice however this couldn't be helped by the owners/ cleaners. These things happen! The water falls are also a must!

We had a lovely time here.
We had a lovely time here. The house is, in the most part, great, very roomy. Unfortunately the shower on the second floor didn't work, this was annoying as we had booked this house because it had three bathrooms (three couples holidaying together) they did get the shower sorted but it took a few days. Some of the lightbulbs had gone in some of the bedrooms, and some of the TVs couldn't get a picture so they could probably do with checking things are working on a more regular basis. The main bedroom really, really, really needs a mirror in it (near a socket please) it was very hard to do my hair with only the little mirror in my vanity case. Huge mirror in the bathroom but couldn't use a hairdryer in there. We had one dog with us and whilst they welcome dogs you may need to consider the garden isn't totally secure, the wall isn't very high so could be jumped and a dog could get through the hedge, especially with sheep the other side tempting them. Luckily our dog is a bit too old to jump walls these days. Goathland itself is lovely. With some nice walks from the door. The Inn on the Moor was particularly accommodating and the staff were very friendly. The provision section in the local shop is a bit lacking so you would need to stock up beforehand, Pickering probably being the closest, or arrange an online delivery if you're organised enough. We had great weather too and really didn't want to go home.

The house is excellent, 10 of us, 8 adults, 4 children, ranging from age 2 to 11.
The house is excellent, 10 of us, 8 adults, 4 children, ranging from age 2 to 11. Great house for hide and seek. Plenty of space to escape if you want some quiet time, enough space to eat together, and relax together, play equipment in garden, hot tub and seating. Games and toys for the children. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, fridge freezer large enough for all needs. Ice was provided for those drinks! Bed were comfortable and bed linen was of a extremely good quality. The Sauna and Jacuzzi bath great after a long walk. There is nothing we can say in the negative, a great week in a great location. If you are going in a group try and get there first as the chocolate cake is to die for, if first you get first dips....

This cottage should be defined as a Manor House. It’s very roomy yet cosy with the open fire going in the back lounge room. Very well equipped and set in a stunning location close to 3 pubs and including a first rate restaurant within the local hotel.
