Fabulous Location

The views were amazing, and the house was remodelled to make the most of them, so you could curl up in a comfy chair and watch the rain roll in off the sea or mountains (it is in Wales, after all!) without leaving conservatory/living room/bedrooms. The new kitchen was great as well, fine for cooking and chatting with family at the same time.

Great holiday cottage.

Great holiday cottage. Needs a little TLC. Lower floor first bedroom very very dark. Suggest remove boat from window/ cut hedge outside / fit second natural light source eg light pipe to roof. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Excellent cottage. Stunning views. Fabulous walks straight from the door. Brilliant. We've been going there for nearly 20 years and the new owners have refurbished to a very high standard. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Wonderful views and countryside.

Wonderful views and countryside. Excellent for walking straight out of the cottage. Very spacious and warm. All very clean but one bedroom had not been hoovered and the waste bin not emptied. T.V’s did not seem to work on terrestrial. Would very happily return. Loved the location, the area and the balcony and conservatory.

The information book at the house is out of date - wanted to contact the person looking after the house and the number I rang said he hadn't had anything to do with Cae-Fadog Fach for 5 years!!. An instruction book for the television would have been useful as I had never used a Amazon Firestick before and consequently we were without a signal for 3 days after arrival. Apart from the above it was a superb holiday.

A wonderful week spent in Barmouth.

A wonderful week spent in Barmouth. The cottage is in a stunning location and the views are breathtaking. The lane to the cottage is absolutely fine. No problems at all and my children enjoyed opening and closing the gates. We loved snuggling up during the evenings on the big comfy sofas watching DVDs and enjoying quality family time. The owners are very helpful and informative. ‘The Last Inn’ pub/restaurant is a must but book! The beach is stunning and the town has everything you need and more. Great workout from the cottage to the town and vice versa but what fun.

Gorgeous location with amazing panoramic views and lovely walks, but beware the treacherous road access - very narrow winding track with dry-stone walls on either side. Fortunately during our week's stay we never met another vehicle, doing so would be a nightmare which could take hours to resolve! Wouldn't attempt it in a Discovery/X5/Q7 etc. Easy to walk down into Barmouth for shops/food/beach/fair, and walking back up the '100 steps' (actually around 150) was easier than expected. No mobile reception in the house at any point during the week. Internet patchy, probably operational around 60% of the time but not reliable. Obviously some may consider this a plus! House very pleasant and bright. A few maintenance issues (including leaking en-suite bath overflow causing flooding and very saggy mattress in master bedroom) and generally we felt limited quantities of crockery/pans etc for 5 of us. We enjoyed eating outside on the 3 fine evenings we had, a few wasps but not too bothersome. Nice varied DVD collection, which was needed as Netflix/iPlayer intermittent, and Amazon Fire stick didn't work at all. We didn't try the music system. In the master bedroom there is a wall-mounted TV which also provides access to BBC radio via Freeview. A few games provided, but no paper/pens/pencils etc for children. Plenty to do in Barmouth itself and the surrounding area. We visited the beach several times, went on walks from the cottage, walked across the bridge, rode on the Fairbourne and Ffestiniog railways and went around Harlech castle. We were fortunate that the cottage next door was empty during our week so we had the whole site to ourselves and no risk of meeting the neighbours on the access road. It may not have felt so relaxed if there had been people staying there as well. So in summary a very pleasant cottage in a beautiful area with great views and lovely walks. Some maintenance required and not the best appointed in terms of equipment. In our opinion it's over-priced for what's on offer. Overall rating of 8/10 would have been lower if there had been people staying next door.

The only drawbacks are the scary narrow approach road, and that it is not practical to walk to any 'local amenities', but that is not a complaint because I deliberately picked an isolated house halfway up a mountain. The accommodation is very high standard, views are spectacular, and rabbits playing on the lawn were a bonus.

Spacious, comfortable, beautifully clean, well equipped and with fabulous views, this cottage has everything you need. The narrow access road is the only thing that prevents us from awarding a full 10, in all other respects this cottage merits 10 out of 10. To be fair, the owner provides detailed instructions and pictures of the access road and you just need to take time and care. Our party had a Skoda Octavia and a Mercedes A Class and we managed without any undue difficulty. The rabbits running around in the garden provided endless amusement and railway fans can watch trains crossing over the Barmouth Bridge.

Fantastic cottage, spacious light and comfortable, well equip, views out of this world especially from the fantastic master bedroom. Walks from the doorstep which was fab. A short but very strenuous walk to town down the headland so no good if you have mobility problems, the lane to drive up was a little scary but you are well warned about this. Would highly recommend the panorama walk and a visit to blue lake over in fairbourne. Would highly recommend this cottage and location
