The house was fabulous.
The house was fabulous. Lovely views from lounge/kitchen and bedrooms. Very spacious everything a family could need. Four bedrooms each with en-suite and an extra separate toilet. One bathroom could do with a bit of an update but that was just personal taste. Great kitchen with breakfast bar, great having two fridges as well as freezer especially if your cooking for family. Washing machine and tumble drier in utility room is handy. Hot tub, sauna and cinema room were great. Great back garden and patio area with furniture and bbq. Would highly recommend. Lovely area, quiet and relaxing but not far from other areas. Culzean Castle and Heads of Ayr for kids a short drive away. Photographs don’t do it justice. This is an amazing house with outstanding views.
This is an amazing house with outstanding views. Everything you need is there. I would say that the cleaning side of it definitely needs to improve. Some stains on our sheets - not awful and it was clear they had been washed but the stain not coming out. Curtains in some rooms coming away from rails. Just general small points which would make all the difference. Not sure if anyone has smoked in the house but the TV room upstairs we didn’t use because of a stale almost dusty, smoky smell. If the cleaning and attention to small details was 5 star then this would be hard to beat. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This was our group's 3rd visit to Island View and my 1st.
This was our group's 3rd visit to Island View and my 1st. The house is beautiful and in a lovely location, we all enjoyed our stay very much. However there were a few cleanliness and facility management issues. TV's and remotes need looking at in the main areas and the bedrooms. A simple cleaning kit would be advantageous to enable those visiting to wipe down table etc after use. A number of cleaning issues were noticed by the group and detailed in the visitors book so i won't go into detail. Not enough information given on how to use the appliances including the Hot Tub. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would recommend the house and location to friends and family However given the price paid for the property we would expect that everything would be Top Notch. Fantastic property, amazing views and everything we could have needed for our weekend stay.
Fantastic property, amazing views and everything we could have needed for our weekend stay. Couldn’t get a signal on the bedroom TVs and couldn’t get sky to connect but that was likely user error! Didn’t matter as the weather was glorious. Shame the local pub was closed but the coffee and cakes from the cafe were lovely. Would definitely recommend to friends. Great house and great view.
Great house and great view. Quite expensive but that is what you have to pay for Luxury. Overall the facilities provided are superb, so please do not think this is a negative review, we really enjoyed our stay. Local amenities are limited (e.g. Pubs / restaurants / etc.). This did not bother us as we were looking for a quiet retreat. Just a couple of areas that could be improved to make the house a perfect 10: 1: There are lots of documents provided (3 boxes of them!) but these contain bus timetables and ferry timetables dating back almost 10 years, and old instruction manuals. E.G. it took us a while to work out how to use the induction hob. (We found two manuals but these were both for models other than the one fitted - presumably for the previous hobs, we could not find a manual for the current hob. Maybe it is there, but with 3 boxes to sift through we just pressed buttons randomly till we got it working...) Maybe someone can throw away anything that is no longer relevant. 2. There is a layer of dust under the furniture, it has not been moved for cleaning recently. (I was only looking to make sure the kids had not left any toys under the furniture). 3. The description of "home cinema" needs updating. We were expecting something grand so were a little disappointed when it is actually a TV smaller than the one we have at home hooked up to surround sound (which we have had at home since 1993)... 4. The WIFI is slow, looses connection regularly, and only works if you are close to the BT hub. Maybe BT is the best broadband provider in the area, but I doubt it... 5. We like poached eggs but despite there being a lot of pots and pans provided there is no egg poacher. (We just soft boiled the eggs and scooped them out, so not a big issue).
