Dolgoed House (ref RA5) has lots of character with exposed stone and beams and boasts four en-suite bedrooms; two of which are on the ground floor. There is spectacular walking along the high ridges of the Fforest Fawer Geopark, plus scenic cycle rides or drives along the river. The area is home to the red kite, one of the UK’s most beautiful birds of prey. It is also the setting of numerous castle and historical sites set in stunning locations including Carreg Cennen, Newtwon House, Dinefwr Castle and Park and the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines (underground tours available). The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with its giant glass dome is well worth a visit at any time of year, while at the coast, Kidwelly Castle and Pembrey Country Park, with its 8 miles of sandy beaches, are must-see day trips. Shop and pubs and restaurant 3 miles.

Wonderful, comfortable house in a beautiful area.
The house was immaculate, spacious and very welcoming. Some lights and the heating were on so it was lovely and warm and we even had a Christmas tree. Apart from a couple of mats to wipe our feet, there is nothing I could suggest to make it any better. We will definitely be returning next year.

The accommodation was perfect for what we needed and had everything we needed for our stay.
The accommodation was perfect for what we needed and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was absolutely stunning and the cottage was in an ideal place to get to all the places we wanted to visit. The nearest town (Llandeilo) is charming and quaint and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would/will definitely return. Everything was extremely clean on arrival and, despite the Covid 19 pandemic, it all felt very safe. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A wonderful place to stay which we all loved.
A wonderful place to stay which we all loved. Very spacious (inside & outside) with excellent cleanliness, equipment & facilities. Fantastic tranquillity. Only major downside - poor wifi which kept dropping & had to be re-started umpteen times in five days - a real problem if anyone was planning to work here online! One other minor issue - it is advertised as "Cennen Cottages, Dolgoed House" & before booking we assumed it was part of the Cennen Cottages group shown on Google Maps. However, Dolgoed House is miles away from them & it was only by chance that we questioned this just before we left home & checked the directions on the info sent us a couple of weeks earlier! This needs to be made clear in the original information. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A very well presented house with good amenities. We were lucky with the weather and perhaps a little more garden furniture, cushions etc. would have been nice. Wi-fi speed suitably encouraged a digital detox!

Excellent location for exploring this exceptionally beautiful, historic and peaceful area of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is down a private drive with plenty of space around it. It has been renovated to a very high standard, is very well furnished and equipped and was very comfortable for the six of us. A few points could be improved. Bathrooms are spacious and modern but with no hanging space for towels. The internet service is very unreliable. We found switching the power the modem off and back on helped to get it going again. All minor points and overall we would highly recommend Dolgoed House.

Perfect for what we wanted to do.
Perfect for what we wanted to do. Quite isolated 3 miles to nearest pub/shop so no local amenities really but the house itself is outstanding. Everything there is high quality and so comfortable.
