Quiet Getaway
Charming property was perfect for family. Nice layout with bedrooms on one end, living room/lounge on the other with very large kitchen/dining area in the center. Large windows overlooking the pastoral setting with views to the Avon. Very private. Roomy parking area. Really enjoyed staying here as we explored the area.

We loved it and had a great time. The only reason I wouldn't give a 10 was because the mattresses, sofas and chairs could do with replacing. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stunning location , the house has everything you could need .
Stunning location , the house has everything you could need . We were blessed with fabulous weather so spent the whole time in the garden or down at the river . The local pub serves great food and we ordered a Tesco deliver for the BBQ food before we arrived . The smaller double room bed seemed smaller than usual ?, but don’t let that out you off . The equipment in the house was high quality and had literally every cooking utensil you could need . Lots of places to visit - local gardens and tea rooms were great . Mudeford Bay is a must as is Devises - we did a treasure hunt which we got online . Our 2 dogs loved the open fields and the river - they even took a swim but also safe are of the garden . Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property - Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We thought the fishing lodge was lovely, perfect situation, fabulous views. Lovely kitchen and range was great to cook on. Bedrooms were excellent, view from bed in master bedroom was to die for. We found the chairs in the lounge were not the most comfortable but didn’t spoil anything, but something that could do with an upgrade. The house was very clean, thanks to whoever cleans it. This place is doggie heaven, with lovely walks along the river. Heale house definitely worth a visit the gardens beautiful. The local pub The Bridge was great the best steak I’ve had in years and the rest of the menu lovely agreed by all four of us. Would highly recommend the Fishing Lodge, and definitely will go back. Thank you

Very comfortable, luxurious holiday home, not adequately described as a 'Fishing Lodge'.
Very comfortable, luxurious holiday home, not adequately described as a 'Fishing Lodge'. Ideally situated for exploring both the Wiltshire countryside and Salisbury. With regard to the 'Fishing Lodge' description, this may be a little misleading as it is on one of the more exclusive trout beats on the Avon, so not really suitable for most anglers. The owners are very hospitable and were keen that everything was to our satisfaction, which it was, apart from the rain, which refused to stop. Very enjoyable and relaxing Christmas break.

We all loved this property (five friends on a weekend break), it’s layout, the view from the house and the the location - tranquil and so close to nature. The open land infront of the house leads down the the river and views of Heale House on the other bank side. Swans and ducks on the water, and sheep grazing. It’s simply lovely. We were fortunate as it was Snow Drop week, and we visited Heale House to do the snow drop walk and see the wonderful gardens (great tea room too) The house is very clean and well maintained. The underfloor heating is very efficient and warm! Bed linen was great, and nice towels, plenty of hot water. Good quality duvets and pillows. Mattresses on softer side. The kitchen is at the heart of the house and with lovely aspect looking out to the view, creates a great environment for meals (if not warm enough to eat outside) - we found the range cooker and electric oven instructions tricky - otherwise, the kitchen is well equipped, with adjacent utility room which is handy storage space. Ample parking space for three cars. No mobile phone reception but the owners kindly have a landline for use if required. WiFi good. This is a great place to stay.

The location is amazing both the view and proximity to so many sites Stately homes and beautiful gardens not least the owners Heale House. The lodge is much bigger than the photographs suggest and gave us all lots of space. Like many previous guests we found the oven fiendish but Guy cracked it in the end the only gripe is the beds. They are far too old and soft meaning the floor is more comfortable and cheaper than my chiropractor!
