The location is perfect to explore north and east Lakeland, the Eden Valley, Carlisle and the Scottish Borders. If you are looking to bring your horse on holiday, stabling and grazing can be provided onsite for an additional cost.
There are good quiet roads for hacking from the cottage, there is a riding school down the road and both Greenlands and Newton Rigg equestrian centres are a short drive away.
