In summer, it plays host to the Grassington Arts Festival, which showcases some famous names, and in winter it holds Dickensian weekends to get you into the Christmas spirit. For shopaholics, Harrogate, an upmarket Spa town, offers a wide selection of shops and is only half an hour’s drive away. Here, afternoon tea at Betty’s is not to be missed, or you can stroll through the Valley Gardens or visit Harlow Carr Gardens. Shop 1½ miles, pub ¼ mile, restaurant 2 miles.
