Walks are available straight from the door including a path at Wardlow Hay Cop known as ’The Pingle’ which takes you to Cressbrook Dale, where in late spring orchids and cowslips bloom. The magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall can both be reached in around 20 minutes, and the towns of Buxton, Ashbourne and Matlock in around half an hour.
