Lovely week on the Loch
When we figured out which house (directions gave the #23, but said to look for #21 on post by white fence - the 'fence was pulled back) The house was exactly as pictured, and we even figured out the washer/dryer (we have never used one of these!) Very helpful to have the book filled with appliance instructions! The view was SPECTACULAR and we spent most of our time at the table in the 'sun' room even though we had alot of rain/sleet and some snow! very cozy when we made a fire a couple of nights (we brought wood with us). Glad we brought provisions with us for a few meals - we were not sure of availability of shopping in the area, but found a coop in Lochalsh We took day trips all over the place, and the scenery is breathtaking!!! Had dinner in Plockton one evening - Plocton Hotel was very nice. Also, the Clachan Pub was great...but they did not serve food until Thursday! We had dinner there our first night (on a Saturday) and stopped by for a beer every day after our adventures! Driving to Urkhart castle and Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns in one day was ALOT, but sooooo worth the drive!!!! Another place you don't want to miss is the Dun Telve Broch in Glenelg- AMAZING! We loved staying here, and the chickens are cute, but they leave landmines all over the porch, and not wanting to track anything through the door, we really had to watch our step! Also, one morning we heard intense pecking, they were eating some insulation outside!

Wow! Fabulous location & Cottage
The moment we turned in the drive, we knew we were staying somewhere very special. The first thing that hits you, is the fabulous view and closeness to the Loch. Gorgeous gardens with different places to sit. The cottage is just perfect. Lovely big comfy king size bed, large kitchen filled with every utensil, bowls, trays etc you would every need. Plus the bonus of a washing machine and a big fridge freezer. Place was spotlessly clean and had strong WiFi. The phone signal was good outside and everywhere we went more or less. The icing on the cake was the lovely sun room, filled with comfy chairs and the dining table and of course, the fantastic view over the Loch and has a few throws if needed for chillier evenings. We adored the three chickens who visit from next door, they were so friendly and comical. They loved the fresh peas and tinned corn I gave them every day, plus so many different wild birds. We went twice to the hardware store in Kyle for wild bird food (try and get a free parking space) and fed the birds three times a day. Living in a town, we only get a few wild birds, so again, felt like we were getting close to nature having so many visitors. Watch out for sea eagles soaring past, we saw quite a few, plus we saw the seal most days. Not a sign of any otters, put you’ll see lots of herons flying by, and check out the ridge on the opposite hills, saw a stag standing proud one evening. This cottage is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and truly awe inspiring ( We have been in the Canadian and American rockies plus Alaska twice) Only a few miles from the Isle of Skye bridge, a visit over to Skye is a must. But locally, visit Eilean Donan castle, they have free visitor information leaflets/booklets, a great food hall, gift shop and a very yummy take away Heilan Scan. They do charge for parking £2 for 1 hour or £4 for 2-3 hours, but again, the castle has great views and places to just sit. There are two bakeries near the cottage, one by the bridge near the cottage road and one in the little village Ardelve. If you are ok at walking, the castle and bakeries are about a 30 minute walk away. But also the village of Dornie is just across the bridge aswell with a small shop and pub. We were here for two weeks, and had a few days of staying in the cottage, sitting on the outside seats just taking in the views and wildlife. So relaxing and well worth our 8 hour journey up there. Cannot praise this cottage enough.

Fabulous cottage in a great location
Lovely base to explore the Highlands and Skye. Cottage is spacious and had almost everything we needed. Would be great if you could pop a rubber bath mat in for kids & I couldn’t find a gravy boat!! Perfect cottage for what has been a fabulous holiday! Thanks

Beautiful cottage
I loved everything about this cottage but we had to leave day early as my partner had a fall and broke his ribs. I loved sitting on the rocking chair watching the loch and wildlife as well as daily visits from the resident hens who were very cheeky. The cottage was cosy, bed was very comfortable and it had everything we needed. Would stay again once the corid-19 pandemic blows over

Quiet peaceful location with a cracking view
A great location for a week away. Property is very clean and to a great standard inside. Watch out... if like me you have a rear wheel drive car... the driveway is steep and slippery (given all the rain and snow recently)... there are worse places though to get stuck on a hill !!!!!
