Amazing beachfront, rustic, budget friendly camp located on Lovewell Pond in Fryeburg, Maine. 15 - 20 minutes from North Conway, NH and outlet shopping! A private dock, swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding all in your backyard. Kayaks and paddle board provided for your use. Property has four bedrooms, two living room areas, a smart TV and wifi. A/C in three of the bedrooms. Washer, dryer and dishwasher as well. And of course there is a fire pit for s'mores! This is a pet friendly, family friendly, smoke free house. If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you. If you are looking for an amazing location and a relaxing vacation on the water with your family, this is for you. To be as clear and upfront as possible - this is a camp. The house is rough but clean. Please do not rent this property expecting a pristine lakefront home because this is not that.

Amazing beach
The location was great and sandy beach was amazing. Our group included 4 kids and everyone loved the kayaks, dock, and swimming. The house was very dirty though. The fridge was disgusting when we got there and we had to deep clean it before we could put our food in it. The base of the white toilet was black- we scrubbed that too. All of the filters of the air conditioners were packed with dust. We had to do a lot of cleaning to make the house livable for our family for the week and we don't have terribly high standards. We have stayed in many rustic cabins over the years without issue. Other than the cleanliness though, our group had a wonderful week.

Perfect Getaway
We had a great time! Although it was a rainy week, we made the best of it. The water in the lake really rose, almost completely putting the beach under water. It was really something to see. We stayed 7 days, so did get some beach time, some firepit time and some lake time. We also got into town and bowled, ate at a barbecue and visited a brewery. The house is exactly as described, spacious and inviting. Everything we needed was there. We made great memories!

Perfect setting
Quiet, sunny, great spot on the pond. Communication with owner was good. Very comfortable. Owner is correct, not a 5 star, but would stay again in a heartbeat. Having to bring own bedding was a bit of a pain. My dog loved the outdoors and found the couch extremely comfortable.

"My husband and I rented the Fryberg, Maine cottage. I have rented many "campy" vacation homes and although the cottage is "campy" as described it does not mean it should be filthy. When my husband and I arrived with our family (my daughter and her husband with my 18 month old grandaughter and my son) we were shocked! After driving 4 hours we had to spend 2 hours cleaning and it didn't even put a dent in it. I'm not talking about something not cleaned up after the last guest. I'm talking about years and years of neglect! Everything was filthy. The walls, the floors, the windows, the refrigerator, the oven, the grill. The kitchen cabinets all had mice droppings! The filter on the water tank has never been changed! Very obvious the cottage had significant water damage from the 2019 flood and none of it was repaired. A a foundation was put underneath it but they left all the wood, drywall and insulation untouched. I can't even imagine how much mold is underneath. The water damage from the skylight, from almost every window, from the ceiling all left to rot. The broken window in the bedroom. The bullet hole in the living room window. The 38 caliber shell casings. The endless amount spider webs with huge spiders. The broken casement windows. The broken screens. Missing smoke detectors. The faulty electrical wiring. The closets so filled with everything anyone had left behind that you couldn't even use them. The complete disregard for everything and the owner's are builders! That's almost comical. The lake is beautiful and the beach is beautiful but it can not make up for the filth and unsafe conditions of this cottage.

Great location for lake vacation
The house is as it is described in the posting, a lake camp. A bit rough around the edges but most of the time we spent outside enjoying the beach, dock, raft and paddle sports. The lake was quiet and shallow by the beach for younger kids to swim. Water levels were low due to the drought, but swimming was enjoyable off the raft. Location is great for trips into North Conway or local Fryeburg attractions. Plenty of kitchenware to prepare with. The dining area has a newer larger table which was nice as well as an outside table on the deck and picnic tables on the beach. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. A great place for a family vacation.

Fantastic property steps from the beach. Roll out of bed and onto the beach to play, swim, fish, etc. Private setting with plenty of space to stretch out.

Very relaxing
This was a very quiet and relaxing stay with our family. The camp had all we needed to stay comfortably and enjoy time together. The camp is close to supermarkets and restaurants, and near North Conway. We loved the open beach area for the kids and the pier was perfect for fishing. Would stay again!!

Great family spot!
Our family had a great week at this property. The beach, dock and shallow water in front of the house were great for our kids. We also spend a lot of time fishing from the dock and using the kayaks. The neighbors were quiet and everything you need is right around the corner. It was great to not have to travel far for restaurants or groceries and we made several trips to Froagie's ice cream. It was an easy drive to all of the attractions in North Conway. As described it is a camp and a bit rough around the edges but it was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Just, don't.
The best thing about this property is the lake and kayaks they had available, which is why I gave it a 2 star overall rating as opposed to 1. The house is not 'campy' it is neglected. We struggled with whether or not to leave all week. Ended up leaving a day early. All utensils had food on them, so we cleaned everything before use. Windows were rotted with glass sticking out. Rotted floor board on the porch so had to avoid that area. Screens had holes, so insects swarmed the front room at night. Fiberglass sticking out of boards in the ceiling. Molded towels stuck under the AC units. More flies than I've ever seen in a house. Mouse was seen in the kitchen. Urine stained radiator. Rusted out bathroom cabinets. Lots of food and toiletries left over from past occupants. The smell was so bad we all laundered everything when we got home, whether we wore it or not. Extensive water damage. Cob webs on everything. Beams are exposed, so I get that it can happen, but these were never wiped down. I understand what campy is. A place can be campy and still be clean and well-maintained. This place was not. We wrote to the owners with our list and have pictures as back up. They did respond with an apology, but until the list is addressed, I really hope they don't rent it out again. I feel bad leaving a review like this, but I feel worse about what we thought we were getting vs what we experienced. One good thing that came of it, was my appreciation for having a family that makes the best of things. Having said all that, the lake was nice, the view was great and there are some nice places to visit within about 45 minutes.

This is my family’s third year renting this house. The house is clean and has lots of space for my family of eight adults. The beach and lake are amazing! So much to do: kAyaking, boating, swimming, floating, lots of outdoor games on the beach, relaxing and family time!

We had such an amazing week at Lovewell Pond! The house is a rustic style cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay! The location is unbeatable! White sandy beach with an incredible view! Its very private and quiet!

Exactly as described- camp with a great beach
The property was perfect for our family and 2 year old. The beach was great and the water was clear and perfect for kids. The house itself could use a little work, but you spend most of the time outside anyway that it doesn’t matter. We couldn’t really use the deck since there were bees flying in and out of the siding of the house. We even sprayed, but it didn’t do much. My husband still got stung sitting in the chair. Overall, a great time and perfect location. It’s private but close to things in town ( ice cream, brewery, coffee shop) so you never really get bored!

Rustic lake camp getaway
The perfect rustic lake camp getaway for the family. The cabin was tidy, beds were comfortable, and the beach/lakefront was amazing! We would definitely consider renting again in the future.

Cannot beat the location!
We really enjoyed our stay! So much so, we are already booked for next year! The house is exactly as described, a camp, but very comfortable and has everything you would need. The beach absolutely cannot be beat! You can’t get any better than the location, space and view. The lake was so warm and the kids had so much fun jumping off the dock. We enjoyed the fire pit and although we brought some of our own floats, we were so happy with the amount of water toys left for us! Lindsay and Jamie were so quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. Can’t wait to come back next year!!

Lake + beach = amazing!
We LOVED our time there. The description was perfect and it was definitely more of a rustic “camp” type house, but it was well equipped and had everything we needed. The outdoor property was amazing! The huge sandy area was perfect and felt like we were at a beach instead of a pond. The swim dock was so much fun for the kids and great to fish from. There were 2 kids kayaks, and between kayaks/paddle board our entire family could be on the water in their own device at the same time. My 6 and 9 year olds mastered the kids’ kayaks on their own day 1 and loved them. The pond was warm even in June, the water was swimable and not too mucky! Location to North Conway area was another plus!

Our family of 6 plus dog had the most wonderful week here. The pond is absolutely beautiful. Bring binoculars, there’s a lot of wildlife to be seen. We loved hearing the loons. The dock, raft and kayaks were so much fun. The house itself is so comfortable with lots of space to spread out. The dining table overlooking the pond was such a beautiful spot to sit. We caught bass, perch and pickerel right off the dock. It was incredible! The kitchen is stocked with all the gadgets you need. Jamie is wonderful to deal with. We were looking at the availability calendar for our next visit before we even left. Just wonderful.

What a location!
We were here for a week with our 2 dogs and enjoyed every minute outside on the sandy beach, the deck, the water, the fire pit - the location is no short of amazing. The house itself is like many said before me: a proper lake camp and it could do with upgrades. But the furniture was comfortable, the house has ample living space with many different rooms (living room, covered porch, dining room) and the kitchen is fully stocked. The bathroom is small though. For bed linnen: I had brought 2 fitted sheets for single mattresses, but all beds - also the double one - are one single mattress (apart from the 3 single beds in a side room).

Magical!
Exactly as described. No, it’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s a cozy cabin with everything you need inside and everything magical outside. The beach is nice and nearly flat. Plenty of shallow water for my 2 year old to splash in. He had an absolute blast. Sunrise is breathtaking and we loved seeing the loons and even a bald eagle! 10/10 would recommend
