We had an excellent stay at Castle View—the photos online don’t do this property justice! It would really benefit from updated images to showcase just its selling point and facilities. The location is remote, with a 45-minute drive to a larger town and over an hour to the coast, but if you’re looking to relax and enjoy the countryside, this is the perfect spot. Our group ranged in age from 18 to 72, and the hosts have thoughtfully catered to everyone. The cinema room was a huge hit with the men, while the women enjoyed relaxing by the wood burner and dipping in and out of the hot tub.A tip for future guests: Download “What3Words” before you arrive—it made finding the property easy, while the other two parties in our group got lost without it!Highly recommend for a peaceful countryside retreat.

Spacious. Lovely Views
The house itself was very nice. Lots of space for us all and well furnished. The host had left a thoughtful welcome basket with some food items which was a nice touch. The hot tub was great and the separate cabin with the fire pit was extra special. However, our experience was made more stressful by receiving no contact from the owner on the day that we arrived. I had emailed in the morning to confirm details of how to access the property and did not get a reply. On arrival we had no idea how we were supposed to get in. There were three doors to the property and eventually my sister found a key safe which she used to access the back door keys. I just felt this was a stress we didnt need. We were all travelling from different areas of the country and arriving at different times, and as I had booked the property I was being asked how we would get in and had no answer. I have emailed and text the host after our stay also to discuss this and to recommend a different approach to make it better for future bookings, but had no reply to either. Also, we felt it would have been helpful if the host had mentioned the amount of flies that were around the property. There were signs saying to shut the windows when we leave, but our advice would be to minimise opening the doors or windows at all!! We were constantly battling with the flies everyday and it was disgusting. We would like to recommend to the owner to put up fly curtains at the doors. i have run out of room to say more

Amazing family holiday
We haven’t all been together for almost three years so to be there as a family was the best thing and to have the facilities such as the hot tub and the artic house helped make our break to be one to remember Only thing we found were lots of flies which being in the country side can’t be helped The cinema room was a family favourite also

Had a lovely stay at Castle View and were impressed with the privacy of the property, breathtaking views and cleanliness. It worked well with 3 young children being with us, however there was very little to do within a close proximity to the property so longer car trips were necessary for days out. The property was of a good and modern standard, though some mattresses need replacing in our opinion and the upstairs floorboards at one end of the property are VERY noisy, causing a few disturbances for people staying both upstairs and downstairs at that end. However the rooms themselves were of a good standard, as were the living areas and bathrooms. Be prepared for the bath water to not be very clear as the property is not on mains water...would be a bit of a shock when running a bath if you weren’t aware of this! The cinema room was a lovely extra, however be aware that the sky tv is not available up there and we did have a lot of problems with the WIFI too when it came to watching things on catch up or Netflix. We also took two dogs with us who loved it and we were very happy with how secure the property was for them on the outside. Overall a lovely big space with lovely extras outside which are needed due to the isolation of the property.

Our family of 7 adults, 3 kids and one dog have just returned from a fantastic week at castle view. The property was really well equipped, spacious and extremely comfortable for us all. Thoroughly enjoyed the cinema room, cabin and hot tub after days out exploring the local area. Friendly hosts on hand if required but didn’t interfere. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Amazing views the cottage itself was massive and as represented on the photos, location was a little out of the way but there is a couple of pubs in a short distance. Overall it was a bargain for the overall property and would definitely consider it again!

Enjoyable relaxing break.
Enjoyable relaxing break. Very nice clean property with excellent amenities. Owners left a small welcome pack of food and drink that was well appreciated after a long drive. Hot tub was excellent, could be improved if there was a cover :-) for the not so hot/dry days. Location great if avoiding towns. While not near the coast, with a car is a viable destination. Lots of good walks nearby, and good friendly pubs albeit not walking distance

Had a fantastic family holiday. Castle View was everything we were hoping for! Stunning views, lovely and clean and very well equipped. Home from home! Everyone in our party loved the house and the location, spent a very relaxing week there and didn’t want to leave, hoping to return again soon.

We had a great time.
We had a great time. The weather ranged from glorious sunshine to wet and windy. Castle View delivers in all conditions . However there are no DVD players, in the lounge or in the cinema room. Netflix is limited. We had taken a stack of films, some bought specially. Our family members were quite disappointed on the wet evenings , when we could not watch our films. Castle View caters for all ages and abilities.

Lovely Cottage in secluded location.
Lovely Cottage in secluded location. Good facilities - especially the hot tub and cinema room. Some issues with the beds but to their credit the owners were quick to act and replace. A hot bank holiday weekend resulted in a lot of flies in the house for no apparent reason- but overall would recommend it as an excellent place to unwind.

Beautiful location.
Beautiful location. We were there with grandparents and three lively grandchildren so the cinema room was great for the kids and allowing the grandparents to have a bit of peace! Therefore also great to have the arctic cabin to bring everyone back together for roasting marshmallows! The hot tub was fantastic for relaxing and star gazing at the end of the day. Overall a great place to stay!

Brilliant home, we stayed there for some special family birthdays.
Brilliant home, we stayed there for some special family birthdays. Has everything you need and maybe should state in an inventory just all the equipment because there is so much! There were towels for the hot tub, a slow cooker and even birthday candles! Kids loved the cinema room & the hot tub was lovely and clean. The artic hut was a lovely touch and we all enjoyed an evening up there toasting marshmallows! Location isn’t amazing, is quite far from amenities and the surrounding fields are not ideal for walking as very uneven. But if you take all you need, then there is no need to venture out. We did go to the Elan Valley which was worth a look, stunning views. Flies were a bit of a problem at the house especially in one of the bedrooms when opening a window too, but the fly swatting kept the kids amused! Overall great house, really lovely and homely with great facilities. Thank you

We loved our recent stay at Castle View.
We loved our recent stay at Castle View. The house is a great size and we particularly loved the jacuzzi and the cinema room. The cinema room has Netflix and very comfortable sofas. There was plenty of room for our group of 9 ladies. We had a problem with the heating during our stay but Frances and Lynda quickly resolved this which was great. Would recommend this lovely house and hope to return next year.
