Both properties: Oil underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and superfast fibre included. Travel cot and highchair. Enclosed courtyard with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Blackberry Barn and Bramble Barn are single-storey barns of original red brick, and have been lovingly restored to a good standard by the owners who live next door. Both barns retain many of the original features such as traditional oak trusses, solid stone flooring and beautiful gardens but with the modern luxury of underfloor heating.
Set in 25 acres of untouched pasture and meadow land on the fringes of The Cotswolds, and within easy reach of the Forest of Dean, the spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath, the cities of Bristol and Gloucester and many historical towns. There is a wide range of activities available ranging from enjoying the tranquillity, to taking day trips to the many local cities, enjoying a game of golf, fishing, local equestrian attractions at Badminton, Chepstow and Cheltenham, and walking the Cotswold Way. The towns and villages nearby harbour a variety of pubs and restaurants or if you prefer to cater for yourselves, the cottages are well equipped with contemporary kitchens. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Blackberry Barn (UKC918) can be booked together with Bramble Barn (UKC919) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

Here is a list of items we provide to assist you with your packing: all bed linen (excluding cot), bath towels, hand towels and flannels, 2 toilet rolls, 1 kitchen roll, handsoap, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, 2 washing powder tabs, 2 tea towels, 1 kitchen hand towel, 1 oven gloves, 1 J cloth, 1 scourer, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a pint of milk and tea tray on arrival. We also have a hair dryer, iron, small travel ironing board and a clothes airer. You are welcome to make use of three of our fields during your stay provided there is not any livestock. Two fields are directly in front of and to the side of the barns, and the other can be accessed via the gateway directly opposite Bramble Barn. You might also enjoy a local river walk. Use the footpath that runs alongside the barns, go under the railway bridge until you get to a mill with very tall trees, walk along the footpath directly under the tall trees, once over the little footbridge you can take the left fork to go into Charfield Village, or the right fork for the river walk and onwards to Tortworth. There is also a very nice little woodland and nature reserve bordering our field, to get to this go left out of the barns until you get to a very steep hill. Half way down the steep hill there is a gateway with Charfield Meadow labelled.

Rented for my elderly parents whilst making alterations to their home. Great property in a lovely area, with excellent facilities; particularly good for guests with mobility issues. The Owner was easy to contact and couldn't have been more helpful.Future guests with dogs should be aware that access to private garden is through neighbouring barn's garden.

Having been doing this type of holiday with our dogs for several years I can definitely say this is the best accommodation we have stayed in. Every little detail has been thought of ; the bathroom is fantastic with its wetroom and bath ;the bedroom is huge with underfloor heating throughout the property. Off road parking with large enclosed garden for the dogs is a bonus Would love to return in the spring !

I have given the location a lower rating (however I mean the positioning of the cottage as opposed to the actual location). Blackberry Barn has no privacy when the adjoining cottage is occupied. It might be better to have vertical blinds at the lovely large windows instead of curtains so that you could let the light in but not be imposed upon by people in the garden of the attached/adjoining cottage. It was quite disconcerting. Sorry. However the cottage itself and the landlady were excellent. This has also reflected on the lower score for "value for money".
